As a Zerg player, I often come into these ZvT videos thinking "Hey, they probably have a point" and then I see them ignoring 29 larvae with 2.5K minerals in the bank and then I realize they never had a point.
I suspect he didn't want to make zerglings, as they would just die on a straight up engagement against blue-flame hellbats. You can see he spent his gas as it came. Had he set zerglings runbies, he'd have won, probably.
The reason there was persistently 9 unused larvae is because Ludo had a hatchery that they hadn't hotkeyed with the others, so they must have been training units from all hatches except one....

The trade info window that comes up after fights, it would be nice if there was an additional up/down arrow to point to the side it favours. I find that's a better visual indication for me. Even though you have negative & red to show a loss, my brain just had a hard time parsing that information quickly without pausing the video.
Was tempted to suggest a vertical "progress-bar"-style (similar to the horizontal ones in the units lost/workers lost panel) to be placed to the left or right of that window, but then again, it's tricky to have it represent "less losses" as a win. :-s
If you get ahead like that in the late game, just build like 50 lings in a very short period of time, and send them in. They kill buildings in 2 seconds.
Indeed, Zerglings are incredibly strong because they can take a lead and capitalize on it faster then any other unit in the game... They build fast, move fast and kill buildings in no time at all once you get upgrades and adrenal glands...

Building 80 lings vs 5 hellbats isn't even a meatshield because the hellbats die waddling forward so against the lings they die roasting 2k minerals instead. The amount of thors and tanks that died to biles unnecessarily is hairpulling in this game, wow. Although i know the frustration zerg feels in these games, it feels like you can't build any units that are good against this composition while T just needs to a-move and occasionally siege or unsiege some tanks.

To be totally fair. And as someone who plays Terran and Zerg. I can hands down say my Zerg is cleaner than my Terran by MILES. And my Mmr is the same(ish) for both races. But I know with Terran if I play even moderately good (just doing what I’m supposed to) I have a good chance of winning. On Zerg you can do EVERYTHING perfect for 20 min and lose to a 3 base Terran because he turtles with an impenetrable base of walls and turrets. makes an army you literally can’t kill without 600 apm and 4x the mental effort. You are left with 2 options. Throw units and hope they have open spots in the defense. OR you sit back and force yourself to let the Terran get to endgame (Zerg players know this is a trap). I think my point is. The zerg can be in the position that ANY other race would consider a won game and still get toasted. Generally by a bad widow mine or ONE bad fight out of 10
terran 20 minutes 3 base is basically mined out and if you stop letting him to take 4rd everytime by using changelings to scout 24.7 it shouldnt even be an issue unless u are below diamond or dia2. Problem is you because you don't make correct units. VS mech you need vipers, there is no way around it unless you do perfect engagements and deny 4th and 5th nonstop whlile trading agressive and good way.
Match specific MMR would reduce smurfing by like 50% on the ladder. Half the time when I’m playing a smurf its someone who hates playing their mirror matchup and instantly leaves those games, but then has an 80%+ win rate in the matchups they like. Match specific MMR would completely fix that. Great idea.
The zerg is actually good, he just stayed for too long on the same army composition and fought terrible fights while not spending his money "correctly". Producing more broodlords, a zergling runby, or teching into ultralisks would have won him the game multiple times.
As a Mechanical Terran player, I agree with your analysis! He should have droned up faster, disengage faster from fights, taken the forward bases, and the terran would have been economically broken.

Swarm hosts are pretty effective against mech. The only thing they are effective against. Swarm hosts could kill Planetary in a couple of seconds without any losses and they could force terran to attack in a bad position in order to stop losing units for free.
I feel like the turtle mech player has the easier report to write for this show. "When I open turtle mech, all zerg has to do is hold down D and I will lose." Harstem would simply advise "don't open turtle mech".
The real imba is that zergs dont get a select all larva Hotkey (whoich shows you the number of larva). Protos even gets one for all warpgates. Dont deny it captain!
yes they do, but you have to press the button in one long key press to make units, which is difficult in intensive fight and usually who macros and finds time to do that wins in trade if he macros eco behind it aswell.

I didn't mean go roast him, I just think that he has more of a career in ling bane early aggression with his apm.
Zerg can rebuild in 2 seconds so usually it shouldn't matter.
He is probably a Warcraft 3 player that never understood the reason for not maxing out, he just knew pros do it and know thinks its better for economy

See the only issue with that is. blue flame hellbats ONE SHOT
4 hellbats at a mineral line can hold off an infinate number of zerglings.

I feel like the turtle mech player has the easier report to write for this show. "When I open turtle mech, all zerg has to do is hold down D and I will lose." Harstem would simply advise "don't open turtle mech".

The real imba is that zergs dont get a select all larva Hotkey (whoich shows you the number of larva). Protos even gets one for all warpgates. Dont deny it captain!
yes they do, but you have to press the button in one long key press to make units, which is difficult in intensive fight and usually who macros and finds time to do that wins in trade if he macros eco behind it aswell.

@@DB-ft4cp They don't have to, but they will because otherwise they lose. Name me a player above diamond who doesn't hotkey into control group their warpgates lol. Only thing indeed what should be removed is F "keys", i still don't know how it's used because i play sc2 like i play WOL but what i'v seen they can insta "spam" warp units and same with abilities aswell.
