The sky looked beautiful at the beginning of the video. Exciting to see plants growing this early, and how you compost. The girls looked so cute with new hair clips. 🤩

I struggle greatly with hot composting. I've started a chicken composting system and it's working pretty well for me. Really enjoyed this video! Thank you!

Buttercup is so pretty . I love your gardening tips and advice. I laughed at Esther walking on the cool earth and I'm guessing ,very cold water . One of my boys always loved to run at dawn on the frosty earth barefooted . He thrived in the sharp cold weather. He loved looking at his footprint in the frost too. Haha. Not me , I prefer warm toes. Happy gardening lovelies and thank you for sharing ❤❤

Thank you for sharing. I prefer warm toes too.🙂 Esther enjoys the cold, but doesn't mind the heat either. She much prefers being barefoot whenever possible. Blessings to you.❤

What a beautiful morning sky. I keep being surprised at how quickly your children are growing. I am fascinated by the comfrey fertilizer and it’s free!
Esther pie is very strong indeed. I imagine she is a very knowledgeable gardener and cook! Thank you for another lovely video. I only have my balcony garden in Paris now, but it’s all good to know. Sending you all love. NB: I am still working in your piano piece. I can sense spring in the air; it’s a time I often want to suspend - the expectancy of new beginnings is something I love. 💕

New to your channel, but LOVING it! I am a home schooling mom of 3 (like you I was a public school and private school teacher prior), I have one that has graduated and is married. You all are such an encouragement. I am sure you know when you have been home-schooling for a long time (I am now well over a decade, I have lost count of the years) you can easily get into a rut. I have really enjoyed the fresh encouragement.
On another note, we have a decent sized vegetable garden for where we live. I am looking through seed catalogs for the spring. I have never really started any flowers from seed and I am wanting to add them in our garden area. I have been seeing all of your beautiful flowers and I am wondering if they are started from seed, or if plants are purchased from nursery.... are they started inside... what are your tips? Thanks!
We are in the same Zone as you and we don't live too far from you. We are just on the other side of St. Louis, practically neighbors! :)

Thanks for sharing a bit of your story.🙂 We usually start all of our annual flowers from seed (zinnias, petunias, nasturtiums, cosmos, calendula, gomphrena, snapdragons, etc.) and usually get perennial flowers as plants (daylilies, hardy mums, hardy hibiscus, hardy geraniums, sedums, clematis, creeping phlox, bee balm, heucherella, astrantia, bleeding hearts, etc.). We have had success starting a few perennial flowers from seed though, like echinacea, salvia, aster, columbine, coreopsis, verbascum, and penstemon. We try to start the perennials early in the greenhouse and baby them along in pots until they get to be a few inches tall, before planting them out in the garden. As you probably know, many perennials multiply readily, so you can just get one or two plants and spread them out over the years.🙂 Hope you you have fun with flowers this year. Blessings to you.❤
