    Kuma bear has more influence than just the p-bear. From Kuma to 4chan it jumped to a Finnish imageboard (Kuvalauta) and turned into Spurdo Spärde. It is used as a simple character to mock newcomers on the board, often shown speaking with a mocking tone. Later it turned into another meme, Gondola. It is interesting how simple emoji turned into something else.

      @SunshinePIRRATA with face blindness, you are actually unable to recognize faces.
      Human brains are wired to find human faces (it's why so many people saw Jesus in toast) it's why 👁️👄👁️ is a "face"
      People with face blindness. See the individual bits but not the sum.
      Following someone with the same height hair and clothes of another person happens to absolutely everyone eventually.

    Here in Brazil there is a similar urban legend to that of the Kisaragi Station, its called Setealém
    The word Setealém means "seven beyond", like "seven stops beyond". Some stories about it have the narrator getting on a bus that is going to Setealém, and the other passengers advising them to get out of the bus. There are other stories in which people teleport to Setealém through bathrooms, specifically shopping mall bathrooms. Like, thet enter the bathroom in a normal mall, and get out in a mall in Setealém.

    Wait. So if the fiancee said her name was Hanako, then he asked her "then why did you sign the marriage certificate as Elizabeth?", and she seemed confused by it, why didn't he go back and check the certificate? That seems like the most obvious thing to do. If she really went by Elizabeth, the marriage certificate should prove it. Now that she claims her name is Hanako and never used the name Elizabeth, that piece of paper is the key to solve this. If it says Elizabeth, then something fishy's going on. If it says Hanako, then OP had some sort of episode.

    • @WhitneyDahlin
      @WhitneyDahlin ปีที่แล้ว +121

      Even if he found the certificate and it doesn't say Elizabeth and it says Hanako he will just believe she switched it. That's the problem with delusions like this. He could get a fresh copy from the government that she couldn't have possibly tampered with and still believe she got to the government or the government is in on it. You can't reason with delusions

    • @catvicddlm1884

    Relating to the Hanako Satou thread: person with Prosopagnosia here throwing in my two cents.
    On one hand, OP's description of how his fiance and the girl in the photo differ 100% sounds like how I see people. Even looking at photos of myself, I only recognize them by context. I struggle to recognize my own mother in public if I can't remember how she styled her hair that day and can't hear her voice.
    On the other, the disorder is not limited to one person. OP would likely be struggling to recognize even his BFF, not just his fiance. I'm not a psychologist, but that sounds like Capgras syndrome to me. Basically, people believe their loved ones have been replaced by imposters and can't be convinced otherwise.

    • @BlooftubeBloof
      @BlooftubeBloof ปีที่แล้ว

      Capgras isn't a disorder, more a symptom of a psychotic illness. Most likely schizophrenia or bipolar or even possibly, brain damage.

    • @littledreamerrem7021
      @littledreamerrem7021 ปีที่แล้ว +40

      @Blooftube Bloof Capgras syndrome is a common comorbidity in schizophrenia, dementia, and bipolar disorder. It also shows up in those with head trauma. The syndrome is pretty rare even then.

    • @julia3354
      @julia3354 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The disorder can be limited to one person. Agnosias are extremely varied and rarely is one person going to appear to have the same symptoms as another. For instance, the man who thought his wife's face was a hat had agnosia. But there isn't a condition where a spouse's face gets replaced by random objects, and this exact set of circumstances has probably never happened before. It's just that when he looks at her, apparently, the neuron(s) where "hat" is stored in the object recognition part of the brain, for him, was close enough to her face in his FFA that when the brain could not reach "wife's face neuron" (likely a damaged or destroyed neuron due to neuronal degradation) it diverted somewhere nearby. In his case, hat. In another world, it may have diverted instead to another person he knew, mixing them up, or even to something more absurd like a treasure chest.
      In this case, it sounds (to me, but this is 100% me guessing!) that his wife's face neuron (or the path to reach it) was possibly damaged, but there was a nearby new or unused neuron that the brain diverted to and formed new associations with, while retaining the memories and associations of the previous neuron. That is a very simplified version of what I would say if this weren't just a reply to a TH-cam comment. Of course, the brain is insanely complicated, I don't know this man personally, and I'm completely speculating. I am, though, experienced with agnosia.
      I don't mean to sound like I know more about your experiences than you do, and I hope I don't!

    I definitely heard many of these in my youth, but had no idea (or maybe just forgot?) their origins were 2chan. I was actually trying to recall denko the other day, but all I could remember about it was that OP said at one point that he could make spaghetti.
    also, if konashine hated konata that much is it possible the name should've been read less like shine as in sparkle and more like shine as in 死ね? with "kona" being the start of "konata" of course. I'm unsure if that'd be likely or not though.

    I think the best part of OS-tans is that there is an actual official OS-tan for Windows 7! Nanami Madobe was designed by Windows to make promo items for its release in Japan. There's even a commercial for Windows 7 that has her explaining the specs for it. They even released two of them for Windows 8, Yuu Madobe and Ai Madobe.

    While the OP from the Elizabeth story may suffer from prosopagnosia, that last bit of Hanako saying that wasnt her and not remembering writing Elizabeth in the papers makes me feel there's more to Hanako/Elizabeth than OP said. I dont feel she's faking her identity, cause if she did she wouldn't have told OP that she was Hanako, so the best explanation i can come up with is that Hanako/Elizabeth suffers from some kind of dissociative disorder, since identity confusion/alteration is really common in those disorders, i doubt she outright has DID (although its entirely possible and would explain the back and forth switch from Elizabeth to Hanako, her forgetting she wrote Elizabeth in the papers and her being confused by a name when going by the other) , but maybe she suffers from dissociative fugues or DPDR or something like that.

    As a former Mugen player, The Kusomiso Technique guy (Abe Takakazu) is known to me as a hilarious custom fighter. Essentially, he is a counter based character, quite difficult to master: if you sync well your input, he pulls a nasty trick to get back to his adversary. The moves range from getting behind the opponent to butt fist him or execute a spectacular plane like flip, holding still the guy before landing on the ground for a flash intercourse. I defy anyone not to laugh at the over the top sound effects! And yeah, his ultimate super move involves to take the opponent to the nearest public toilet for total package action, as the manga vignettes illustrate the implied fate of the opponent. Last but not least, to power up, he unzips his jumpsuit, puts his pixelated schlong on a table and get hit by guy wielding a wooden bokuto. No, no, I swear! I don't make these up!

    "dissociative personality disorder" is the funniest butchering of DID i have ever heard of. for those who don't know, it's dissociative identity disorder. its previous name was multiple personality disorder, but it was changed in the 90's because the disorder had dissociation as a part of its symptoms. "personalities" as part of the disorder is horribly out-of-date, as it is now understood that the brain was split into multiple parts, *not* the personality

    I'd just like to mention that Prosopagnosia (which btw, highly comorbid with autism! Your fun psychology fact for the day), aka face blindness, works much like real blindness in that there are levels of it. Some people have fairly mild cases, some struggle a little more, some are totally faceblind and have to rely solely on things like body language, consistent fashion choices (including hair & makeup), and voices.
    Some faces may also be harder to distinguish than others. For example: Whereas, generally speaking, when someone has trouble telling two people apart, it's due to something like genetics, or race - which I think *usually* applies to prosopagnosia, too - for me, I actually have the hardest time with other white folks; particularly white men, age 25-55, medium to dark hair, *especially* if they are conventionally attractive. A lot of Hollywood just looks like the same white guy copypasted five hundred times. Another reason why I very much love diverse casts (as long as it isn't some gross shoehorned-in thing someone casually tossed together for potential added revenue).
    There was a half-decent movie starring Milla Jovovich where she develops prosopagnosia after surviving a run-in with a serial killer. The rest of the movie is a mystery-thriller that follows Milla's character as she adjusts to life with both face blindness and, let's be real, PTSD, while also trying to make sure she isn't taken out by the killer, who is still at large.
    Not a masterpiece, but a decent watch! And Milla Jovovich is always fun to watch one way or another.

    The thing about Yanaraika? that gets me is that the video of the dudes dancing is a cover version of an anime song: Balalaika from Kirarin Revolution. It replaces the title with "yaranaika" and makes the lyrics masculine (such as changing pronouns and using "manly heart" instead of "womanly heart") but otherwise the lyrics are the same. Kirarin Revolution is a children's anime and the original song was sung by a 14/15 (?) year old Japanese idol -- Kusumi Koharu, who was the voice actress for the anime's main character and sang most of the songs.
    I have no idea if Koharu's aware of the Yaranaika? song, but the fact that an obscure BL manga got turned into a meme and became so big someone decided to make a (really well done) gay cover of an idol song from an anime for kids is what makes me love the internet.

    A guy who's pretty good at doing voices, Brendaniel, read out the WHOLE Denko saga, and it's way crazier in real time. There are a few outdated/offensive words used, but the post happened a while ago when the words were less condemned, and it's on Japan's version of 4chan, so whatdda you expect. (& some annoying voices) The stalker seems real self-depricating and yet only seems to listen to the positive responses to his post, whether they're trolls or not... The weirdest thing is, he seems to have SOME sense at first, telling somebody who said to follow her from work to her house that "THAT'S JUST BEING A STALKER". But he just seems to devolve from there.
    Also Brendaniel isn't used to the different emojis and keeps calling the one the stalker uses most a "stupid fuckin' hamster face", and it's pretty amusing because you can hear the seething rage in his voice after he gets tired of repeating it, but eventually he just integrates it into the sentences he's reading, with the same tone and all.
