Since the invention was revolutionary, why wouldn't the committee take into account all the contributions and the discoveries that eventually led to the whole invention?! I'm talking about Dr. El Yazami whose work was about the graphite anode that is key component of every Li-ion battery. I think it's quite unfair!
Congratulations! I apologise beforehand if my question might sound stupid, but haven’t we been using lithium batteries in our mobile phones for the last decade? I mean why is the nobel prize for it only got awarded this year? Or is it some sort of new battery?
Well yeas, this is an old invention, but so far, we havent been able to create a more powerful battery than this one. These guys should have been awarded this Prize a long time ago, but alas, better late than never, they finally did.
A seven and half minute video on this year's nobel prize in chemistry that does not describe the invention (AT ALL.....) Questions asked: Basics of Li ion battery (Available in higher secondary textbooks since a decade) About the age of one of the Nobel Laureate How do you feel? Questions NOT asked: About the actual invention for which the Nobel prize was awarded Can the interviewer please....please do at least some basic home work !! ABSOLUTELY REPREHENSIBLE
Your curiosity about Li ion batteries is fierce! Keep an eye on our channel on December 8th, when we will live stream a 45 minute academic lecture from each of the Chemistry Laureates. You won't want to miss it. Thanks for watching!
This man was not one of the discoverers. He is a member of the Nobel Committee who awarded the prize. I love his enthusiasm.

Congratulations you for development of chemistry
