How do you rate the impact compared to your gm5 or t2 ? ,i have had both and am considering a impact now, I did have a pro package on order 3 months ago but wife started a divorce so canceled it . Hoping to return to hobby even though i,m still reeling from whats happened in that time .Down from seven to three machines.
Simply Metaldetecting the machine is better built and it ground balances without any issue, plenty of modes and setting to keep u busy, can change the khz and tones. I like it
Henri , you still loving the impact ?, I've had a multide of top end machines over the years but have always reverted back to the T2 classic . Other than the fact you can change khz settings would you say I would gain any benefit changing to this m/c, I don't do beaches..?
Barry Lee i love mine mate u can do alot more with this machine, loads to play with. Got about 6 usable programs all seem diff. Ground balances lovely. I love mine mate still playing about with it
Hi Henri i will try this di3 setting next time out. Once you change to standard vdi and the numbers on the hammys go up, does that mean the foil etc will still come in around 19? Therefore I should know more or less whether or not its a good target or not? Many thanks.
Hi Henry. Well been out using the di3 mode. There were plenty of hammies and romans came up but I never found a thing. At one point I tested my machine on a cut quarter that someone had found and my machine barely picked it up and the coin wernt even buried which didn't fill me with confidence. I don't know whether im not walking over things or i am missing targets. Do you have any suggestions that may help me out? Cheers mate
Jayant Mandhare turn machine on with coil in the air. Set to COG MODE. Walk onto the wet sand. GB machine, it will come in with a low GB on wet sand. 1 or 2.
Hi, mate. Really appreciate for sharing your invaluable experiences with the Impact owners. Would you have any additional advise for silver & relic hunting in a site where auto. Ground Balance is around 77-81 (which is highly mineralized soil). It seems that the civilisation who has lived around, has not used coins. I notice a lot people use the di3 mode . I have tried vlx2 it noises and deep mode I dug a 2 ft hole and hit clay and gave up

Jake Birkby yes still dig 19’s. Changing the vdi only make them very slightly higher when in 20khz. Being only that fraction higher i prefer

How did you go on with the DI4 settings that you tried, did you do a set up video. Have you used the V4 mode at all
Was not as stable mate as di3, maybe on quiet pasture
when doing a factory reset, does this revert all modes back to fr ?

Listen out for the tiny short signals. When the ground is highly minirilised the coins can sound like a very small target until its out of the ground
