Hi David & Shell 👋 !! Thanks for this episode, lots of interesting history of this lovely area 😊👍. My Aunt was a young scientist 👩‍🔬, worked on the ‘Bouncing Bomb 💣’ in water tank labs near Helensburgh, Scotland. Cheers, Don 🙋‍♂️ !!

This seems a bit surreal. My parents met in Coningsby (very close to Woodhall Spa). My mum lived there and met my father (from Leeds) via the RAF. That would have been in the 50s when they met. I was born in I962. We travelled the world - but kept returning to the area. I recall a girlfriend (Vivien) that I knew (early 80s) who lived in Woodhall Spa. We both moved on. I live between Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne now (my parents still live in Horncastle) - but keep coming back to my earlier days recently from this side of the world.

    Loved this again!!
You film and edit these videos in such a sensitive way, which makes it so so interesting for the viewer.
So much to see on this one - the history of 617 Squadron is always amazing to see and hear.
But I think it’s the image of one of the original bombs with weeds and plants growing around it that’s really evocative.
Seemed to have a message there somewhere
Great share again you two. So enjoyed watching!!

Thanks for the comment, Woodhall spa is full of history and we probably haven't really done it justice but its worth a return visit for us , the History of 617 squadron is all around the village , To see the last prototype bomb was quite special 4 yrs ago it was in much better condition than it is now so eventually it will be lost forever .We try and film with respect if people have lost their lives we never go out wanting to upset anyone ,but try and tell their story , hopefully keep the memory alive for the future generation .
Really glad you enjoyed it makes it all worth while .
Thanks again .... David & Shell
