Thanks for the mention Lindsay, the boxes are now available exclusively on our website in Europe www.upavonflyfishing.co.uk The production version is based on the same design and has reinforced catch and hinges. There is a 30 day money back gaurentee and 1 year manufacturers warranty too!
Decent and well worded review. I'm definitely going to get one as I also like tying my leaders up the night or day before a trip, especially in colder weather. Those type catches do have a habit of breaking, so hopefully they iron out the couple of issues you've mentioned.
Looks good. My only concern is how your rigs look when unwound from the storage card. Do they end up kinked? How has it stood the test of time, still using it or dumped in the garage somewhere and forgotten about 😂
Morning Lindsay. I like that fly box! The piece in the centre for tied rigs is handy and why it is so thick I imagine. I actually have a seperate zipper case that is meant to hold multiple pre-tied rigs, weights and indicators. It is about four or five times the size of the box you are showing here, but it is large and ungainly. So with this box I think I would have one for my best, mostly because of the Rig Card inside. Then you can go to thinner boxes for the rest. I am trying to get away from plastic as much as possible, in my pack, simply because of the pollutant factor, so right now all of my boxes are wood, a little heavier but I like them. Still this one has a good feature that might have me buying one! Thanks for a fair review!
The concept isnt new, carp fishermen have used pre-tied rigs for years but reducing this in size for fly fishing was a good idea. If you tied rigs for different situations you would need spare centre inserts which are available. The question is, where would you store those? Along comes the centre insert storage box, (as carp fishermen use) and your Wynd boxes start to grow! Still think its a good idea, but agree the hinge looks as though it will expire about 2 days out of warranty, it needs a waterproof seal and I'd glue on a strap to make sure if dropped mid river, it didnt float away before you could grab it!
@@lindsayiflyfish As you say prototype, so hopefully they take your opinion onboard and can make the appropriate changes, paying more is never an issue if the quality is in the product. Thanks for the review.
Cheers Lindsay. I'm starting back on the rivers this season and I was contemplating purchasing the box. Appreciate the review 👍 P.S. Size of those bungs, jesus!😂
Good review Lindsay, but I can just hear the wife "what?, another fly box? How many does one person need?" Still gonnae get one though, that foam bit for pre-tied rigs won me over. Cheers!! ATB Chris

@Robert Pelletier The Northern Angler in Traverse City appears to carry the box and extra inserts. The fly shop is online also.

Glad that it was helpful Derek.

Unfortunately it is the later pal. The rigs did end up linked up.
@lindsayiflyfish thought it might, thats a pity. Thanks for getting back to me

Hi Kerry, you are always welcome pal. I will be interested to see how far they can take the concept.

Agreed, just needs a few tweaks to be really great.
Box looks a little flimsy, in saying that I do like the removable foam section where you can keep prepared leader rigs👍
Durability is my main concern, I guess only time and use will tell.

Most welcome buddy, can’t wait to get back out fishing
Cheers Lindsay, review is good enough for me to order it now :)
Hello pal, hope you are keeping well buddy.
@@lindsayiflyfish Yes buddy, all good here, looking forward to getting aline out again soon :)
Interested in your comments on the box. The catch does look as if it would eventually give up and break off, but as you say, a good concept.
They give a one year money back guarantee so they must be fairly confident. As I said this was one of the prototypes.
