Mackinac Island will always hold a special place in my heart, my grandmother and grandfather took me a few times to stay in that hotel. This place is so peaceful and stunningly beautiful as are my memories of it with my grandparents. Love and miss you both.

I loved that movie. Excellent Christopher Reeve and beautiful Jane Seymour, superb score and glorious location. Discovered three days ago, seen it already 3 times, not counting the TH-cam snippets and acknowledge the visible cult for this movie. Should been called Spellbound once seen .
Never fails to bring a Tear to my eye and it is so underated although it does have a strong cult following, my favorite all time movie closely followed by Its a wonderful life.
Thanks for this. I highly recommend the novel Bid Time Return written by Richard Matheson for which SIT is based on. (RM also wrote the screenplay and played a cameo as the ‘astonished man’ who encounters Richard Collier coming out of the hallway bathroom when he arrives in 1912. The book has a much darker and deeper tone and some more twists, imo a new film of the novel as it was written would be fascinating. SIT rightly stands as a classic. Bid Time Return is a must read for all followers of the film.

Anyone who as seen this wonderful movie and dislikes it just can't have a heart, one of the most underated beautiful movies ever.

The Grand Hotel doesn't have that road at all, now nor then. Plus they don't allow any cars for the last 100 years
