    In my country Republic of Congo we don't make it in that way, but even if they made it in that way, after that it's boil, so no more bacteria. I send a lot of love to all our precious mama from Africa. We're grew up strong and healthy with their entire love🥰🥰❤

    Wow, boiling it to remove all impurities is very good, in Eastern Nigeria, after boiling it, they use machine to pound it to release the oil and another machine to press out the oil and then finally bottling it for consumption. But individuals in their homes use mortar to pound it and then use hand to press out the oil and finally bottling it for consumption too.

      Yes! We’ve definitely heard of the mortar and pestle method.

    Eastern Nigerian here! My grandmother used the heat-to-crush/twist bag process, not water process to make oil. There are so many different methods with the same end product.

    • @tmaplus
      @tmaplus  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely! While making our research for this video, we came across about 4 different methods of palm oil processing just in Nigeria.

  • @lily.9802
    @lily.9802 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Wow. Different countries really produce the same thing differently although all they are all in West Africa. I just finished watching the process of making the same thing (palm oil) in Ghana on Tatiana Haina’s channel and found this one too.
    This method reminds me of how wine is produced in some parts of the world. The Ghanaian process is more like the method of extracting Shea butter. Instead of feet, the entire forearm is used to stir the mixture. Very interesting.

    • @tmaplus
      @tmaplus  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! And even in the same country, there are still different methods used in the production of the same thing. Thank you for dropping your thoughts. Glad you enjoyed the video.

    • @aishahadamu998
      @aishahadamu998 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Some Ghanaian methods are just like this with little differences. For example, our pits are lined with flat stones but those in this video do not have stones. We use our feet to grind them, but we have sticks we use to stir afterwards to make the oil come on top.

      They are already condemning the process yet I have never read anywhere that contaminated palm oil killed somebody or caused an outbreak. I also have read a lot about the West condemning palm oil before, now, they are quietly embracing it. Some are now advocates. The high heat kills any germ and seperate impurities from the oil. Then we cook it again when preparing food.

    On an unimportant note, the word “chaff” is pronounced like “staff”, and “sieve” rhymes with “give”. Doesn’t really matter in the end, but the very act of being on the Internet instantly transforms me into a pedantic jerk.

      @@fatimamanneh9144 although this is somewhat not sanitary to see, palm oil made this artisanal way remains one of the healthiest oil you can ever eat. Oil extracted at very high heat in factories loses it’s natural quality and becomes a chemical product…..like gasoline so very unsafe to eat. I am proud of these entrepreneur women creating small transformation units like these to make products we can eat in Africa instead of sending raw products to European countries to transform and come sell us much more expensive. We need to support small artisanal activities like this to become semi industrial. We should not judge them harsh. M sure these women take care of their children and husbands with these activities.

      This video showing tramping by feet is just to show the traditional method of extracting palm oil. Mechanical press is way more efficient and more economical. 100% of palm oil sold in the supermarket is extracted hygienically using highly mechanised and automated plant.

      Does anyone believe Afrikans are healthier than people in the Western world 🌎? Although Western media have been portraying Afrika as the most disease continent in the world 🌎 which is not true, in Afrika, we consume natural organic foods and vegetables. So anyone condemning this process should pass by without comment.
