"Twice the Love" was another underrated album he ever did. It have a lots of good music sound especially Keyboard and Synth that make the album shine along with George's voice and his guitar in the tracks he played. He also have a chance to worked with various people in different genre like Bill Champlin, Jason Scheff (Starting All Over) and Atlantic Starr (Who produced Livin on the Borrowed Love) My favorite track is Tender Love, You're Still My Baby and Let Go :) Allmusic gave this album only 1.5 stars and make me wish them to shut down the s(h)ite. Glad to see Benson closed the 80's era perfectly with this album and after that he returned to more jazz-oriented.
This is a catchy tune. I gotta give it to George; he's a unique entertainer. I mean he does Pop, R&B, and of course my personal favorite, the unique beauty of Jazz which he elegantly portrays as a Jazz guitarist. I love this brotha.
How funny it is that this edited version work better than the album's version : They pulled off the details, and just made a minimalistic groove for the market ... why not ..
Around 44-45 is my best guess. He's of my father's generation age-wise and has been around since the early-50s when he first began recording under the name "Little" George Benson (look those sides up here on YT, talk about a legit child prodigy even THEN). Didn't start making a real name for himself until he finally came of age in the early-60s when he was making the rounds as a hot young in-demand guitarist on the soul-jazz scene. Of course everyone knows about Benson's runaway pop "crossover" success from the mid-'70s on, but he's truly one of the most gifted music artists that the good ol' US of A has ever birthed. Enjoy him while he still walks among us mere mortals, buddy! 😊
BTW, George Benson is still active, releasing cds. His version of "Reason For Breathing" is slightly better than Babyface's IMHO. Quite worthy of seeking out.
Who can ever under rate songs of this nature. It is just how an individual interprets and appreciate good music

Is there any genre this legend didn’t dabble in!? Love this man! My dad was a fan and I grew up with the late 80s and 90s Benson!
SIMPLY OUTSTANDING.
If I was stranded on a desert island and I could only listen to one artist I'd take George. Legend
Beautiful and jamming song. One of his best!
