Sings both Jazz and R&B hit songs. Writes both Jazz and R&B hit songs. Plays guitar like a virtuoso on both Jazz and R&B hits songs. Who else has the talent to do all that? George is one of a kind.
The thing that I love about George is that...it is all about controlling emotion....I guess almost like Freddie King on downers, but in control. Although, Freddie King was in complete control, but George Benson to me anyway captures Freddie King in a sentimental way.
He’s NOT UNDERRATED!!! He’s a multi platinum millionaire artist who’s been considered one of the greatest guitarists ever for many years! Now come out from under that rock!
My mum and step dad used to go his concerts back in the early to mid 80’s.......they would come back buzzin. Many, many hours in the car with George as the soundtrack. Absolute bliss.
He is so excellent to watch and listen to, especially when he's playing jazz guitar live. I am so grateful for these videos we can watch whenever we want! I always loved George Benson and remember hearing Breezin' on the radio when I was a little girl.... He is so ultra talented.
@@tomsanders9491 I don’t doubt you saw George Benson at Ravinia, (whatever that is) but I’m not wrong, this clip is from “The Old Grey Whistle Test” which is a British TV programme with no audience, not a live concert.
@@alanhowell3646 Ravinia is a concert venue in Highland Park, Illinois. Your previous comment sounded as if you disputed the concert. I don't doubt that this clip is memorex. Most artists rely on tape
George and his band here are so smooth and effortless, and this such a sweet tune, that it's easy to miss just what a fierce groove they're in. Smokin--
One of the greatest Jazz Guitarist of all time. His voice is brilliant too. Brings back my childhood memories. Thank you to my Uncle's for introducing me to Jazz back then.🙏
I saw him in concert in Seattle with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra & his band. It was amazing sound there & still to this day the best concert I've ever attended! George was spectacular!
Bonjour tout le monde ... Je vis au Brésil où nous avons des musiciens et des chansons incroyables comme Bossa Nova. J'ai toujours aimé G. Benson. Des câlins à tous.
Was introduced to George and his Breezing lp in 1976 by a friend at the time I was only 16 years old but at that early age I understood music and much of the guitar because of the rock and roll era that was present at that time but I had never heard anything so smooth prier to this and I have followed George's career every since.
Talking about this song yesterday , remember it being played on radio 1 and advertising the album ! I was hooked on George and bought Nature boy album . Super guitarist with a great voice !
In 2008, on our way to the Hollywood Bowl to see George Benson, we stopped at a gas station where Jay Leno and his entourage were standing around with one of his "cars" eating Chinese food from carryout containers. We continued on to the Bowl, where George Benson gave a great performance, along with Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller and Victor Wooten! George is a great entertainer too. He still has it.
As great as George is with that guitar, I was totally amazed when Stanley started playing that tamborine with his foot WHILE playing that difficult bass line! Very nice!!!
This is an actual live NEW version not the studio recording which was a hit. if you listen to the lines he improvises a lot. Sure he plays the head, the main theme but the lines in between are fresh and still Gorgeous George. The fact he and the band can do the studio recording such superb justice without effects, tapes, atone shows what elite musicians these guys are. Almost a lost art.
Dennis Davis RIP. I had opportunity to play with him at my gig at the Cotton Club in NYC. The groove was just too good. Made my playing jump two levels.
Mr. Benson. My mom jammed his music a lot growing up and until this very day. Now I do.

Well unless you are either dead or deaf, then you probably are.
A work of genius.
This song reminds me of vacationing to Florida as a child. The smooth sounds of the 70's
George Benson...one of the best guitarist in the world, no doubt!

Indeed. Benson is a melodic player. Because he was performing in town at the time, my sister in law's dad named his two terriers after him!

I can’t believe I forgot how friggin good GB is. I just love all his work. This album is the best
George is one of the most talented musicians but the bassist playing the tambourine at the same time is pure class !!
Check out Shakey Graves, you will be amazed. Roll the Bones and Kiss the Girl are winners.
One of the most underrated, talented, passionate singer/musician ever. I can listen to him all day, every day!🎶🎼

Why do people love to complement artist as being "underrated". George Benson has NEVER been underrated. Like NEVER.
❤ He is the best. Long time listener since early '80's.
It's so beautiful, why can't we all just be friends?

George Benson can play this song and it just puts me in a place of calm and quiet. What a musician!

Oh, I didn't know that song was originally from George Benson. George is a genius on guitar, that is a fact.
He didn't write it, but he "owns" it.
In the middle of the whole London punk scene, and this guy stuck to his guns ! Much respect !
