    Hey Jeff, Here's a product idea. Sell a little solder kit with a selection of sizes. Thanks for all the videos!

    Part 2 would sure come in handy right about now. Just rebuilt my top end and couldn't get a good measurement on the old base gasket as there wasn't much left of it. So, I just guessed with new one. Feels like I've lost some bottom end performance. 2012 250 XC-W.

      Measuring squish is for head mods NOT setting the deck height. You apparently installed a thicker base gasket which reduced low-end grunt.

      @@slaverace1 aha! I'm a bit of a new, so I was confused about this. Thanks a million for your quick response! FYI, I did order my top end kit from you to show my support for all of your great videos. You da man Jeff!!!

    Jeff. thanks for another helpful video.
    question:
    a lot of folks say to turn the flywheel back and forth past top dead a few times. however you only ran it past top dead once. is once all you do?

      Depends on the fuel you will be using, 0.60mm-0.70mm on high octane larger for pump fuel 0.80mm-0.95mm.

    • @anthonymacaluso1488
      @anthonymacaluso1488 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The squish space does exactly that -squishes air and fuel mix centrally for the best shot at complete and powerful combustion

    What is the point of this?

    • @marioraja4229
      @marioraja4229 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jay Smith to pick the right base gasket (they come in diffrent thicknesses)

    • @benashlin8845
      @benashlin8845 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it is also called piston stop gap. There will be a speck for it and it will def effect you compression. you would change it by changing the gasket thicknesses between cylinder and bottom end. Maybe a pro can confirm this.

    • @benashlin8845
      @benashlin8845 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      also called dimension x in manual

    • @srpracingdevelopments3728
      @srpracingdevelopments3728 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do not adjust squish by changing base gaskets because you would change the port timing outside what us required in setting Dimension X.
