CABLE CAR TOUR | Ride The Stunning Wankbahn Cable Car - Germany 4K

On our trips we try to experience a lot of different things. Here is a video from our ride on the Wankbahn cable car. The Wankbahn in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany is a monocable gondola. It leads north-east of Garmisch-Partenkirchen via the mid-station to the 1,780 m high Wank, a mountain on the edge of the Estergebirge. The Wank offers visitors a panoramic view of the Ester, Ammer, Karwendel and Wetterstein mountains, down to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and into the Loisachtal to the borders of Munich.
The track consists of two sections, which are connected at the middle station. The cabins go through both sections and have room for four people. There are a total of 135 cabins that can be pushed in as needed. In addition to direct ascent from the valley station to the mountain, it is also possible to get off and on at the mid-station.
Each section is powered by its own DC motor, each with an output of 300 kW, both of which are installed in the central station. The two diesel-powered emergency drives, each with an output of 109 kW, are also located in the central station. The circulating combined lifting and carrying cable has a diameter of 36 mm.
