Roads in Jammu are getting developed under Smart City project

- Smart City work is being done in Jammu. The roads and streets are getting constructed. Progressive work is going on in Jammu like the construction of flyovers and bridges. It gives us a good feeling about our city. Hospitals and schools are being well maintained and kept clean. The government is doing development work. Lots of good work is happening. Take for example Gandhinagar area which used to get flooded. Drains used to get flooded because of garbage. Now with so much road development going on, it does look like a Smart City, commented a resident. Stones are exported from Rajasthan for the road development work. The roads are now free to walk and to park vehicles.

There's a long highway under development which would connect all NE states, it'll mostly be completed by 2026 o suppose.... government will then for sure develop interiors. IF Modi government is re-elected in 2024 and after. Else, other governments will ignore NE states like they don't even exist on the Indian map...

Rain water drainage, solid waste management and sewage treatment should be made in every city of India.
They are need of the hour. Most Indian cities especially tier 2 and tier 3 cities, lack a proper water drainage system and waste treatment systems.

recently i went there..Development of infrastructure in jammu is occuring at very fast pace. People are very happy with the new development policy of government. Even Religious places are getting very much development.
Jammu is so developed compared to our state mizoram 😢.We have no four lanes,traffic are tight.Our roads are very narrow.

But...When one tries develop a state, they need the cooperation of districts and when it's about the country, the states should co-operate too. 1st they are trying to develop the underdeveloped areas. TN is developed as compared to these places. And these places are our weak points. Especially due to terrorism and as these are border regions. If these places will be stronger and if the people will not turn out as frauds, then the mission is successful!

@Akshit Dadhwal 10 years ago I would say the same. Because I was bigoted, I had internal complexes for people who were not from here. And I had valid reasons. Because it was crowding Himachal, traffic was getting worse. They brought a lot of garbage. And to some extent, it was altering the way we lived. But now I have realized that it all depends on us and our government on how we deal with it. Is traffic getting worse? Make better roads, Enforce traffic, and make safer and better road designs. Garbage everywhere? Enforce rules and design proper waste management. Buildings everywhere? Make and enact policies for construction. All I am saying is. It is a two-way window. On the one side, tourism brings a lot of capital through jobs and business for the people and the Government. While at the same time, mass tourism has a habit of destroying places. But I think later one only happens if people and government let it happen. So it is for us how we force our govt to make better policies while making money at the same time. Getting rid of tourism as a whole is not a solution to anything at all. It will only put people out of jobs, Businesses lose money, and halt our development. For example, look at Manali highway which is NH3. It is only getting expanded because it brings tourists and that is what makes it viable.

Whatever bro, all the major western countries have specifically placed J&K either as "don't visit" category or "extreme precautions", both of which are extremely detrimental to tourism as keeps away some high spending tourist. Even most of foreign vloggers avoid Kashmir. There needs to work to stop smuggling of weapons from Pakistan, also reduction in terrorism and armed forces presence in the valley. I'm saying this from North East India. It has happened here but now we don't find army roaming in the city, slowly tourism is picking up in NE. Hope it does in J&K.
