- Seismic acceleration analysis is done to check the failure of a structure under an earthquake. In ABAQUS, it is possible to either use seismic displacements or acceleration.

It's upto you. You can go with it or just avoid it based on what you want for output. I was not interested in consolidation. Thus, avoided unnecessary steps.

Hello sir, why did you put the roller as a bottom boundary condition and apply EQ in the fixed set. if we select the bottom boundary condition as roller one, can't we apply EQ in the roller set?
In this case, you must apply EQ with displacement control.

I have three triangular hills that are of the mesh type free and Quad with mesh size for example 10 or 8 meshes and verify, it is not a problem, but after applying the infinite element (modifying the inp file to cinpe4 and import), the mesh sizes will increase and decrease. Why? And then gives the dynamic analysis of the error (unsuitability of the mesh) !! what should we do? I partition and make the mesh size smaller, it gives an error again !! Thank you for your help

I define gravity and earthquake in my model at the earthquake step, but then the displacements become big and my model results do not look correct. Can you tell me how I can solve this issue? I work on earthquakes in tunnels.
The earthquake acceleration generally cause this type of issues if the boundary conditions are not properly defined. In addition you can provide additional support using spring-dashpots at the boundaries.

I have been working on a pile model inserted into 6 layered soil. But whenever i enter the mohr- coulomb plastic properties for each layer, the analysis keeps stopping. I have followed your model, it works perfectly but mine is not. Can you help me by giving some suggestions, sir? I'm seriously struggling with this one. Thanks in advance.

@@asheshchoudhury548 Geostatic stress is applicable when we use Biot poroelastic model (SOILS and GEOSTATIC procedure). Here we are using a dynamic procedure that incorporates the inertial effects. Thus, no need for geostatic stress.
