This was new to me. I saw someone else refer to roux. I thought roux was something else. I made this up and put it in a jar. I didn't have a need for it but then one day I was going to make a beef pot pie and I wanted some gravy to mix in but didn't want to go to the store. I looked over at the roux and put some in a bowl and mixed it with some Knorr Beef Boullion. It worked and tasted good too.

I like my roux super dark. Is it possible to get the roux really dark in the oven?
@karenhughes9691 yes...keep baking until you get your desired color... but you don't want it too dark... your food will taste BURNT.
