This is how one grant changed my life.

For so long, I hid behind the lens, capturing others’ stories. But behind the camera, I wasn’t just observing-I was waiting. Waiting to be seen, to step into my own story. This is how I finally found the courage.
In 2023, I received the 5k Emerging Artist Grant from the Arts Council for Monterey County. With this money, I was able to upgrade my filming gear and capture the world in 4k. What started out as a project to capture the stories of artists within the community transformed into a love letter for the community. This short film is a recap of the last year and a half, where my journey went from moving from fear to leading with love.
I hope you enjoy and find comfort knowing that you have the power to be the main character in your own life. You belong and are needed in this lifelong story. With a supportive and loving community, you can do incredible things. So get out there, make meaningful connections, and do whatever it is that brings you joy.
