Are people out here really looking at USB-C cables just for charging? If I'm going to "invest" in a high quality USB-C cable for charging, it better also do high speed data transfer
Those Anker Nano charging bricks are awesome. I keep one in my business bag, a couple in my truck, and one in each room of the house. They charge amazingly fast and don’t get blazing hot like some bricks.
This is a good breakdown. I have been a long time user of Anker products, but Anker has a problem of making 10 products that do the same thing slightly different with no way of differentiating between them. Even the names mentioned aren't on their website or amazon store. Some have numbers, some have names like "powerline" and some just have adjectives like "new nylon".
Love the Anker cables in general - I have easily a dozen of these cables. That said, Native Union makes a 240v Cable with wicked fast data transfer as well…and it sports a dual tip on one end that does lightning and USB-C. I will also point out that it has a leather cable wrap, which is very nice.
OK, what is the best charging and data cable for USB to USB-c cable for my CarPlay car. Seems a lot of people are having problems with iphones 15 and maybe 16 which is just got.
Don't get me wrong. I absolutely love Anker chargers and cables. But I have experienced four cables fail in the last year. I only use either the Apple chargers or the Anker ones. I am against buying other brands. But these cables failing is not settling well with me. What I am experiencing is the cable causes the device to renegotiate the charge settings. I have tested the same cable on a different device and it still does the same. Then I cut it up and get out another Anker cable.
Although I absolutely love how the use of USB-C is becoming more and more widespread, I'm also really sorry to see the impact it is having on pricing for something as simple as a charging cable. Up to $26 for 1 meter/3ft of cable that will do a measly 240w, compared to regular old lamp cord that will do 3000w at $1 pr meter/3ft is absolutely crazy! Especially considering that the USB-cable will be entirely worthless without a USB-C charger to plug it into - a charger which will probably run you at least another $50-$100 by the time you skip over the obvious fire hazard, generic name brands. We're all paying the USB tax these days... 😞
Not mentioned is their "Anker 543" cable which supports 240 Watts, coming in at 3 feet for $12, 6 feet for $14, and 10 feet for $17. Seems to me to be better bang for buck, especially the 10 foot version. However, it is only rated for 10,000 bends.
The only cable that was okay is the last one and you're exaggerating because I haven't had it that long and it's already starting to fail but I would say I got a year out of it which is not bad.
Man I spent two hours wading through shit for the 20th time in the past umpteenth years for a new USB cable trying to find out what cable isn't going to crap out, lose data speed or connection or flat out break after a few months to a year. So sick of this cowboy market. I believe I ended up on an older Anker Powerline which looks a lot like the flow here. It's rated for 5000 bends (frankly I've been ignoring these numbers and fishing testimonials/reviews) and states it's reinforced with Aramid fibre (whatever). It's particularly thick. This wasn't for charging, rather I wanted a 3m cable for a PS5 controller to PC connection to play games from my sofa. No idea if this was a good choice. Ironically the longest lasting cables I've ever had are the old cables I had bundled with Samsung Galaxy's from back as far as 2017. They felt decidedly unremarkable but have never died. They're just too short for this use case.
Apologies! Oversight on my part. The first 3 are very flexible. The Prime is slightly more stiff because of the extra protections in the cable. But overall, they’re all on the more flexible side.

Wish you had tested the cable for power and transfer speeds…

4:02 does anybody know what kind of Velcro that Anker uses on their Velcro straps? Or what that slim and not messy kind of Velcro is called?
Bro, you helped a lot, I was confused with the terms and names, but your explanation was good
What is data speed ?

How’s the flexibility of each of the cables? I hate usb cables that retain their shape.

Can you let me know if your charging block color to match blue cable is misty blue or glacier blue thanks
The one I showed on screen is the Glacier Blue.
@@CameronDoughertyTechthanks it looks great this was useful video
Great video James. Do they all have the same data transfer speeds, and Apple certified?
I may be incorrect on this, but I believe all Anker USB-C cables are MFI certified.
Good Job on the comparisons
Thanks!
Good job on the comment
Kudos on the reply.

dont know why im here but missed some data transfer specs

Not a single word about flexibility! Most of the braided cables I've used are as stiff as a 90's kid surfing the internet.

Anker is american or chinese company?
They're a Chinese company.
USB 2.0 cables don't future-proof anything.
Anker has gone downhill the past year. Not the go to product anymore. They are definitely hit or miss
Without test the video is useless, just bla bla bla.
