- Kaiserreich just had a major update. For its 1.0 update they reworked the Germany tree and it's the most content-dense Focus Tree I've seen.

Hoi4 players have one of two emotions when it comes to reading it’s either 3rd grade reading level or TNO readings
Every time I try to read every TNO event the game takes so long 💀
Luckily most of the time it’s worth it

@ethanhooper8606 If I try to play a country in the Russian anarchy and try to read all of the events, I end up getting to the german civil war after about 4 hours

@@TheoneanduniqueAubergine8622there has been an active Rework for Austria and her constituencies for a long time now. There is a confirmed PR in the works, but it's unclear how much work has actually been done. The devs still haven't decided if Slovakia will get a focus tree for example. Doesn't help that the lead dev is apparently very tight-lipped about decisions to the rest of the team.
long being a natpop now was totally taken normally by the subreddit and totally didn't cause a civil war with god knows how many extremely long, well researched posts arguing both for and against natpop long only for the devs to more or less ignore the entire thing.

Initially I hated it, but after a few tries I came around. So on my THIRD playthru, disabling the dumb card game and studying how to balance the politics, this focus tree is in-fact, quite awesome, well-made, and lengthy. My only remaining complaint is the shear amount of pop-up events gets ANNOYING.

The thing I dislike the most about the germany rework is that the mitteleuropa time between elections is too long and also feels like I was just sitting around after a while just waiting for 1940 or something to role around to be able to do the war with France focus. Mainly because I got into a war with the Entente by 1938 thanks to Two Sicilies.

Man I was in high school when HoI4 Kaiserriech first came out, and now I've been out of college for over 2. Its been a long time since I gave up hope they'd actually update the german focus tree. Guess its finally time to boot it up again and hope the american civil war is slightly more balanced so the CSA doesn't win literally every time I don't delete all their troops to start the American Civil War

Going from Kaiserredux to Kaiserreich is crazy because in Reich everyone is actually limited and not OP as hell. Also the card game and party balance mechanics toook a bit of getting used to

I honestly don't think that the aim of this joke was to poke at how minorities were treated in Russian empire because that's hell of a niche thing to joke about. I don't think that this is what you were really referring to when you were telling that joke. Especially knowing that in this play Russia was a democracy, so the joke, quite frankly, makes even less sense now. However I would much rather believe that this joke was direct product of mainstream media's efforts in which they did their best to present Russia as synonym to a devil. And now, as a result, people start making jokes villainizing Russia even if it doesn't make any sense or isn't truthful in any regard. Just the fact that the joke pokes at Russia is now enough to make it a good joke. Joke doesn't need to contain bitter truth, make any sense or even be funny. The fact that it is poking at Russia makes it good enough.
In the end, Im just pointing out what I believe is out-of-place and what deserves calling out. And this is exactly what I'm doing. No hard feelings though. I just don't find the joke about Russia's minorities in such context to make any sense or even have any relevance.

Victoria 3 is a lot more fun right now. I'd say it's more fun than HOI4 was at a similar point in its dev cycle.
Still a lot of wonky or broken stuff, but less braindead and more engaging. I still recommend playing as a smaller nation, because the game is more engaging that way.
