    Oh Kenny, your video came right at the right time. I've been trying for decades to feel healthy. I know it is my responsibility to get healthy for not only myself but for my children and those around me as well. You are right, I did the best I could raising my children and tried to do 100% better than my mother; that just did not happen though; how could it? I've already written a rage letter to my mother and you are right, I sensed a release immediately. I wrote an apology letter to my son this morning. I hope he takes it well. I have been telling my friends about you. Your voice is truly needed in this day and age. Thank you!

    I appreciate this so much. I didn't realize I had PTSD from my childhood. After 30 years of marriage, I literally had a triggering event with my spouse and I had to leave instantly. My reaction was shocking to me then and I am coming to understand myself so much better now. I am starting to access my feelings of anger and rage and my parents and ex. It doesn't feel good to be angry when I know they are damaged also. But, it's time to be honest with myself about how they hurt me so I can feel the feelings and release them.

    You’re describing many aspects of EMDR treatment. I only know that bc it’s the only treatment thats ever began to help me. It was working but the feelings I started to access was too much, I stopped. It was extremely overwhelming and I shut down 2 light memories in. Yes, healing feels empowering and I know I deserve to be happy but you gotta get through the grief first. And most people can’t handle it. trauma pain is the worst pain in the world. There’s a reason they call it trauma.

    I’m so glad I could finally find this ☝️ video as I’m in a foreign country
    Ive been doing inner work as of April when I had enough of narcissism in my life and meant it
    Before that I had almost no childhood memories and they’ve been flowing in steadily
    It seems like I need to begin to add forgiveness to the inner work when the memories come because I really can not control what comes in
    I’ve been on this recovery road a very long time (10 years) and I feel that the right alignment has occurred to make this ☝️ work

    I am working throught your youtube, your book, your free course.
    My eye was open last year after 56 years of stuck in cycle. Didn't even know. Watching narcissist, jow to heal, all didn't work after one point. Because it just blaming other, didn't take responsibility, i choose them and why i choose them.
    You made all sense to me. Why i am getting sick when i try to look back past, i couldn't rven show anger, couldn't cry unless i put fake mask. All denial, disassociation, frozen feeling. I will keep watch, hear, read yours until my mind agrees ( in my thoughts/ brian understand and agree your course, my mind/feeling is not there yet)
    Once it get closer , i will book your private session so it would be more effective.

    Oh my goodness! After this video I had a pivotal breakthrough!!! I wish I could explain it. I am two years out of a 16 yr abusive relationship and have watched every narcissist video imaginable. But today I started listening to your videos and I now know where my codependency came from. It was a memory I had suppressed since I was around 3 yrs old and today I remembered it. I am 49 now and just figuring this out! It wasn't even my parents, it was a babysitter that kept me then
    ..This has instantly changed my mind about this whole process. 2 years ago I was in denial about being co-dependant of the narcissist, now I know that I really was. Yes, I still believe they make it worse by beating us down, but now I understand why I allowed it to happen. I can't tell you what a wonderful moment this is for me. Many blessings to you Kenny!!!❤

    • @kennyweiss
      @kennyweiss  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You’re so welcome and I appreciate your diligence to keep confronting your self deception and denial. It takes tremendous courage to recognize and take ownership of the part we played.
      Until we do that, we are stuck in purgatory and they still control and own us.
      Once we see how our childhood created the attraction and we can own, the part we played, we can forgive ourselves and be free from the resentment and anger we have towards them.
      Everybody wins .

    13:40 Very true, I haven’t been present much in my life. Always on the go to achieve more. Very ignorant of my surroundings, hyper fixated on what others would think of me. High levels of anxiety. It took cannabis for me to actually feel what it’s like to be present and focused which is why being under the influence of it sometimes feels like a catastrophic but life changing experience lol. And all those inner traumas come to the surface.

    well there is enough being said that I know this is a good direction... but what I don't understand is if I don't remember my childhood how am I supposed to work this? I have just a handful of memories and they are not traumatic - I get that I repressed them... but I don't know how to find the time I felt worthless or bothersome - its just in me.

    • @kennyweiss
      @kennyweiss  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question. You don't have to remember a specific event just the feeling. All you have to do is trace back to the first time you recall having that feeling? It might be an event or just an age range and a feeling, a knowing that you felt that negative feeling. If you are meant to recall a specific event in time it will make itself known. If not, that is fine. the process is still the same.

    Thank you. It has taken me years to accept that the answer is not in the thoughts but the emotion. I told my therapist years ago that when I was going in circles the cognitive discussion was not helpful. And I was left with no more advice than "just wait" for the emotion to go away and then do the discussion.

    I know this will probably come across as skeptical. I'm curious about the studies you mentioned and conclusions drawn from them. Would I be asking too much if I asked you to share those studies? In particular, I'm curious how they were able to quantify that adults are not present to 95% of their life. How did they come up with that percentage? Thanks in advance for your time/help! My hope is to help myself and others with the info you can provide. We all can agree that adults are rarely present to their own lives; it seems like 95% of the time is a whole hell of a lot. Lastly, in full disclosure, I know something is up with me when I'm trying to put everything in my life on autopilot

    • @kennyweiss
      @kennyweiss  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. You can find all that information on my website under the recommended reading list. All of the books that I have listed there contain the studies and the facts that I share in my videos. Remember I teach truth and responsibility which means we all have to go become an expert ourselves. We have to take ownership and put a plan in place and invest the time and energy to learn about all of these things ourselves. So if you want to dive into all the research as I said it’s in all of the books I list on my website and you’re welcome to do the research yourself and broaden your understanding of these dynamics just as I did

    • @kennyweiss

    I understand the process you are speaking of above. However, what do you do with the resentment and anger of those who did intend to cause trauma in your life. The boy who date raped, The bosses who confronted you with sexual-harassment and then fired you because you didn’t comply, etc. that is where my extreme hostility comes through. I have definitely grieved about it cried about it and tried to work through with healing And therapy, but I really never get any tools to handle this.

    • @kennyweiss
      @kennyweiss  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      When we hold onto that anger and resentment we are holding onto the anger and resentment the perpetrator had inside themselves that they used to literally dump in us.
      We get to choose if we want to keep holding onto THEIR unhealed pain. Ultimately, if we stay angry and resentful it is because we won't let it go. We won't give it back to them. At that point the anger and resentment has turned inwards and now we need to forgive ourselves. The assault may have happened years ago but for many, each day they choose to bring it out and assault themselves with it.
      They get to decide if they want to forgive themselves for doing that to themselves? For some they don't. They enjoy having that victim power and being able to place their own self abandonment, abuse and blame on the perpetrator. I don't judge them for that.
      Sadly, they can't outrun that deep in their core.They know they are now the perpetrator against themselves. When they are tired of doing that to themselves, they will decide to love themselves and stop devaluing themselves that way.
      Ultimately, that can all be traced to the messages they received from their parents. That is what they are really holding onto. They don't want to see, admit, face and heal that truth and how those messages put them in the position to be cross paths with the perpetrator.
      If you decide to invest in learning how the Worst day cycle works, all of this will make sense and you will be able to let it all go and heal.

    • @franceshess1865
      @franceshess1865 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This just came to mind: one of the primary reasons I keep reliving this worst day cycle, is none of the perpetrators (and there have been many) were ever held accountable. So, I spent the better part of my 20’s medicating myself and “giving” myself away which to no surprise, led to a slew of negative consequences that, of course, I blame myself for. That damn cycle!

    • @kennyweiss
      @kennyweiss  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@franceshess1865 And do you see how you took on their identity?
      They were never held accountable and so you never held yourself accountable.
      You couldn’t say no to your own self-destructive behaviors. Therefore you could not hold yourself accountable.
      We become the pain we experienced until we heal it

    • @franceshess1865
      @franceshess1865 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kennyweiss So, in essence, I’m angry at myself and them because of how I responded? Instead of taking control i.e. holding myself accountable/taking the high road , I relinquished my mind, body and soul and took part in their hedonistic game. I became what they wanted. I have been carrying that load of crap and devaluing myself ever since.

    • @kennyweiss
      @kennyweiss  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@franceshess1865 When you consider the possibility that by holding onto the anger and resentment, the trauma becomes self-inflicted and then you consider letting it go and forgiving yourself, how does that resonate deep in your soul?
      Does it release you and feel like freedom?
