About the Program:
In this webinar, representatives from Legal Aid Society of San
Diego’s Tax (LITC) & Unemployment (UIB) team, will discuss our
fourth procedural talk on hybrid related Tax/UIB topics, and
explain interesting details about:
• Worst-case scenarios with tax debts
• Meaningful tax penalties & payment agreement discussion
• Worst-case scenarios with UIB debts, based on appeal results,
and EDD fraud prevention measures
• 2024 UIB updates: EDD Payments and Disaster Unemployment

About the Speakers:
Shahin Rahimi is the Managing Attorney of the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) and Unemployment Insurance Benefits (UIB) team at Legal Aid Society of San Diego. He received his JD from California Western School of Law in 2002 and a BA in Political Science from UC San Diego.
Travis Deane is the Lead Attorney for the UIB team at Legal Aid Society of San Diego. He received his JD from Florida State University College of Law in 2014 and a BA in Political Science from University of South Florida.
Wendy Romero is the Lead Case Advocate and Outreach Coordinator for the LITC and UIB team at Legal Aid Society of San Diego. She holds a Master of International Affairs from UC San Diego, and a BA in Economics and Political Science from SDSU.
Luz Rodas is the Case Advocate for the LITC and UIB team at Legal Aid Society of San Diego. She holds a BA in Law from Pontificia Universidad Catolica of Peru. Guest Speakers: Amy Yu, UIB Staff Attorney, Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles (NLSLA)
