ABU 501 and 507 reels. Absolute classics. Used to use them religiously until I hooked into a barbel and my 501 coffee grinder got ragged to pieces. Barbel fisherman ever since with barbel gear. No arguing the closed face reels were awesome.
Nice video., but how come he just drove up to the peg ? My memories of match fishing all involve forced route marches - especially on the Severn or the Trent. The organiser would point to a pylon about four inches high and say, " You're in the second field after that. " 😁
Who am I to question Dave Harrell but wasn't that knot he showed for the main line to hook length just a double overhand knot . Correct me if I'm wrong .
We hear you.. but NOT our control. That's YT. At the end of the day, you get a free ride with YT.. my Our family beats the interruptions by subscribing to PREMIUM for a whole fiver a month and NO adverts. BLISS! :-)
Bear with it, the master is fishing, the legend.......I'm watching this as my latest purchase of floats from his website has just arrived, tight lines!
Old but gold thanks this was how we all used to learn simple times.
Now anglers want industrial forklifts to take their tackle along the bank.. :-)

🤣🤣🤣It's still like that on the middle Tees. Plus some of the pegs have four foot high foliage and fallen trees and then you get the scales too
Got he looks different 😂
Wouldn't get his tackle in an XR3i now days LOL
Probably get an XR3i in a tackle trolley these days.. :-)
