what i love most about this is that susan haskell played it just perfectly. she could have gone over the top dramatic with it, but she didnt, and that is what made it so effective and memorable.
I know that scene is heartwrenching, especialy Sheila's reacttion to know that it was more than one person. I love how Susan played the end with not wanting to answer anymore questions. She wanted to go home and was upset, but still showed that she was thankful for them. This storyline was just great acting all around!
She just plays Marty right down to the tee. Even little things, like Marty jumping a little to any kind of movement, and just something little like the elevator door closing in part 1. And Susan just amazed me, because I was so use to seeing her be the party girl Marty. And you don't see this nowadays, a lot of these actresses can't make a transition, they can't be dramatic and then within a few months be fun! That is why so many characters now are one-dimensional. And I hate it!
@beyjacpau totally. most actresses nowadays would just go nuts with this material and be sobbing and dramatic. The silent devastation here is so much more effective.
That scene is so hard to watch, when they realize Marty was raped by more than one man. And the scene with Cassie and Andrew is also first rate, where she tells him he's not God. I wasn't watching in their first few years together, but this earlier stuff with them is strong.
I agree she could have gone way over the top with this, screaming and shouting, but she didn't. She was very soft and it was almost like Marty was a scared little child.
Camille McKenzie Not to mention the possibility of pregnancy. You could tell that idea terrified and horrified her. Subtle actions like that show SH knew what she was doing.
@@RachelRamirezCaroline it's amazing that todd & zack didnt think about Marty getting pregnant. I did not mention powell b/c he left no dna. So I dont think he was able to " finish " b/c he was so freaked out & went to vomit right away. That's why powell is the worst b/c he knew it was wrong & paricipated!
Wow andrew just thinks it's one guy imagine hearing its multiple men! I have to think that's more unusual than a one on one attack. Thank god they had the morning after pill. Todd didn't consider he could have gotten her pregnant! I sorta wish they went with that I wonder how Marty would have reacted. Or todd ? I just say todd cause he was first & became the focus of the story. That would have been interesting to see how a rape victim reacts to being pregnant from the attack. Could have been a riveting story that through a child could have lasted on & on. There are women who get raped & do keep the child. Great material for susan Haskell. I'd think she would have kept the baby being how alone she was in life w/ no family left & I have never seen a soap tackle that. I mean sarah , bo's later wife was raped & did get pregnant by austin & she was keeping the child. She miscarried when Gabriella pushed a wine rack trying to kill or hurt Austin & it landed on Sarah.
thank god she took the morning g after pill. imagine a who's the daddy rape pregnancy although very interesting imagine if she got pregnant with Todd's baby. if the writers knew how good Roger would be I'm sure they would have had her have Todd's baby . could u imagine Todd and his craziness about kids ???

To this day, I still think this is the best OLTL storyline ever judging from the time I watched the show which was starting in 1991

These are some of my favorite Marty scenes. Susan Haskell's acting is amazing here. The scenes were heart wrenching to watch.
Thanks for posting. I wasn't watching the first time around, so it was great to see these memorable scenes.

SH was great in this storyline. I never saw it originally. I'm also very impressed with Sheila. She does a great job too in the background.

I love her little reaction when the doctor mentions an HIV test. As if it just occurred to her.
I agree! It's very realistic! As if it's all hitting her at once ..amazing!

@RachelRamirezCaroline thank god they had the morning after pill
I always liked Cassie with Andrew. They seem like a perfect couple. All people are doing great in these scenes.
That's right Marty That's right YOU are not to blame what Todd manning did to you was not your fault he is to blame for what he did
At 6:25 that lady who was asking Marty questions, you see a shadow coming up on her side. :) And then at 6:46 it was gone.
