Greetings. Theological librarian here. This clip oversimplifies how things went. The process of canonization in the Catholic Church means a judicial-grade inquiry in whether the candidate to official sainthood lived the virtues of Faith, Hope, Charity, Prudence, Justice, Fortitude and Temperance in the heroic degree. That's established via interviews with witnesses and examination of the candidate's writings/recordings (if any). If that works well (no testimonies proving the candidate was a rascal, no theological mistakes in his words), it is sought whether there are miracles attributable to the candidate's intercession. The preferred ones are healings, which must be of diagnosed serious/deadly conditions, and must be complete, instantaneous, lasting, and not due to medical treatment. That part must be confirmed by a medical committee, in which non-Catholic or non-believer physicians are welcomed. After that, and if all the theological requirements are fulfilled, the candidate is declared as 'Blessed,' and some veneration is authorized. For the candidate to be declared as a 'Saint,' whose veneration is more extensive, the process is doubled and deepened, including another miracle that must fulfill the aforementioned conditions. Important note: it is only God the one who makes miracles; the candidate/saint it is understood as an intercessor only. You pray to God, asking for a miracle, for the merits of such and such saintly person. The miracle happening is the proof that the person is in Heaven with God. Anybody who led a decent life could have gone to Heaven and be saved, a saint, but when someone is canonized, there is a certainty. Of course, nobody is asking you all to believe in things like Heaven or Saints, but I hope you realize that Catholics take this things seriously. That's why canonizations take years, decades, centuries even. All of that just to recognize that someone lived as a true Christian, which is what all Christians are supposed to do. ✌
Thanks for pointing out God not saints do miracles. If you read your Bible more carefully, Jesus said to ALL his disciples “you will do greater works” and Luke wrote that we may KNOW we have salvation: don’t make it seem “hit or miss” -the thief on the cross had zero days to “live a good life” he only (a) admitted his deeds deserved punishment (b) asked Jesus who DIDNT deserve punishment -to remember him.

Don't write you are former Chatolic, if you don't believe in Saints I think you should write you are agnostic or simply not a Chatolic... Only God Can do miracles but we chatolic believe that some people who, in their life, loved God on everything (including their own life) and love the people as theirselves, they become Saints and God, for the love that they give to Him, answer to their preyer (intercession) for living people. The Holy Church does not easily recognize miracles, in the commissions there are doctors who are also non-believers or non-Catholics who have to make sure that the healing is actually inexplicable and sudden, which is why they are so rare. Otherwise three miracles a week would be recognised.... Sometimes examining commissions need years to recognize a miracle and at least two are needed to declare someone a saint.
How wonderful! St. Acutis, please, right here and right now pray for me and my son. Heal us completely. Idk how to get you to listen and hear my pleas. Please, intercede and help us heal mentally, physically, and emotionally. Thank you. Amen!

They also issued false documents and lobbied Axis officials. Msgr Hugh O'Flaherty, who coordinated the rescue from within the Vatican, saved thousands of civilians and Allied POWs, including Jews. Well, if you do not play along with the religion thing in the US, your career in most public positions will hit a dead end. There are exceptions, but they usually have a talent of some sort that isnt all too common and therefore are "forgiven".
This is truly an inspiring story! The idea of a teen being recognized as the first millennial saint by the Catholic Church is remarkable and shows that holiness and influence are not bound by age. It’s especially powerful to see someone so young, relatable, and from the digital age being celebrated for their faith and positive impact. As a "God’s influencer," this teen reminds us that modern tools like social media can be used for spreading goodness and spirituality, connecting faith with the everyday lives of young people today. This recognition also highlights how sainthood is accessible and relevant to everyone, even in our fast-paced, tech-driven world. It’s a beautiful example of how faith transcends time and continues to inspire new generations!
I’m a Christian but the Catholic Church’s way of promoting normal human beings as something paranormal goes against the teachings of the Bible. ‘Thou shalt have no other Gods’, isn’t praying to saints tantamount to attributing them with GOD like qualities? 🤔🇬🇧🌈♥️🙏
Before reaching the canonization it takes years. Miracles are almost the end of this path. Carlo's life was passed through a sieve. Carlo's computer was "seized" to verify the presence of elements contrary to the doctrine of faith. Friends and acquaintances were all heard and each of them was asked if they had a reason for resentment towards Carlo. In short, the journey is long and it took years to get to here. For me, Charles' holiness was already visible at his funeral. He, a wealthy young man who could have had everything, but who only had a pair of shoes because the rest was superfluous.. its coffin was surrounded by all kind of people, poor people who had been helped by him.. for my Faith, that's enough. Post scriptum: His computer continues to catch fire from time to time under the eye of the surveillance camera .. Carlo's mother smiles on it. She is not afraid. Someone else is afraid of Charles's holiness.
No one in the church refers to Bl. Carlo as "God's Influencer", as he sadly perished long before the rise of vain influencer culture. Please don't associate him or the church with that
Didn’t these people get surgery & help through treatment & hospital before they got better….that might have had a little something to do with their recovery….praying is like talking to yourself out loud, nothing magical comes from it…..being good is one thing being “magical” is another normally found in fictional stories…. My brain hurts now 🤯
I would say that a god who ignores thousands of suffering children, too young to be sinners, in favour of someone mumbling to him, because he subscribes to the right religion is not very godlike in any way and is undeserving of worship for certain.
Here is a kid who fascinated with saints built websites years before he became ill, in my opinion as a small sacrifice by god to create messages like this that this life and money matters little, doing good for people and god Jesus is everything. He became a Saint himself. A Miracle.

Also for the miracles that are contributed to him My question is why did those people pray to him in the first place He hasn't even become a saint yet and these people were praying to him isn't that kind of false idol worship

I thought sainthood was reserved for folk who actually performed miracles. Influencing kids ain’t a miracle.

During World War II, the Catholic Church rescued hundreds of thousands of Jews from the Nazis by hiding them in convents, monasteries, schools, and other locations, including the Vatican and Castel Gandolfo. For me, Charles' holiness was already visible at his funeral. He, a wealthy young man who could have had everything, but who only had a pair of shoes because the rest was superfluous.. its coffin was surrounded by all kind of people, poor people who had been helped by him.. for my Faith, that's enough.
