Greetings. Theological librarian here. This clip oversimplifies how things went. The process of canonization in the Catholic Church means a judicial-grade inquiry in whether the candidate to official sainthood lived the virtues of Faith, Hope, Charity, Prudence, Justice, Fortitude and Temperance in the heroic degree. That's established via interviews with witnesses and examination of the candidate's writings/recordings (if any). If that works well (no testimonies proving the candidate was a rascal, no theological mistakes in his words), it is sought whether there are miracles attributable to the candidate's intercession. The preferred ones are healings, which must be of diagnosed serious/deadly conditions, and must be complete, instantaneous, lasting, and not due to medical treatment. That part must be confirmed by a medical committee, in which non-Catholic or non-believer physicians are welcomed. After that, and if all the theological requirements are fulfilled, the candidate is declared as 'Blessed,' and some veneration is authorized. For the candidate to be declared as a 'Saint,' whose veneration is more extensive, the process is doubled and deepened, including another miracle that must fulfill the aforementioned conditions. Important note: it is only God the one who makes miracles; the candidate/saint it is understood as an intercessor only. You pray to God, asking for a miracle, for the merits of such and such saintly person. The miracle happening is the proof that the person is in Heaven with God. Anybody who led a decent life could have gone to Heaven and be saved, a saint, but when someone is canonized, there is a certainty.
Of course, nobody is asking you all to believe in things like Heaven or Saints, but I hope you realize that Catholics take this things seriously. That's why canonizations take years, decades, centuries even. All of that just to recognize that someone lived as a true Christian, which is what all Christians are supposed to do. ✌

Thanks for pointing out God not saints do miracles. If you read your Bible more carefully, Jesus said to ALL his disciples “you will do greater works” and Luke wrote that we may KNOW we have salvation: don’t make it seem “hit or miss” -the thief on the cross had zero days to “live a good life” he only (a) admitted his deeds deserved punishment (b) asked Jesus who DIDNT deserve punishment -to remember him.

Sainthood in Roman Catholic theology is the recognition of an individual's exceptional holiness and virtue, formalized through a process called canonization. This process begins with a local diocesan investigation and progresses through several stages: being declared a "Servant of God," "Venerable," and "Blessed" after the verification of a miracle. Finally, a second verified miracle leads to the individual's canonization as a saint. Miracles, often involving inexplicable healings, are crucial in this process, serving as divine confirmation of the candidate's sanctity. Saints are important in Catholicism as exemplars of faith, models of Christian living, and powerful intercessors before God. The veneration of saints reflects the Church's belief in the communion of saints, highlighting the spiritual solidarity among the faithful on earth, the souls in purgatory, and the saints in heaven.

Purgatory is not biblical and all that you typed was pointless because none of it is biblical.

    • @reymar4657
      @reymar4657 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@AtreyuKhalil , The concept of purgatory in Roman Catholic theology is not explicitly mentioned in the Bible, but Catholics believe it is supported by several biblical passages and the tradition of the Church. Purgatory is understood as a temporary state of purification for souls who have died in grace but still need to be purified from venial sins or have not fully atoned for their past sins. Here are some of the biblical bases often cited:
      1. **2 Maccabees 12:45-46**: This deuterocanonical book, which is part of the Catholic Bible but not included in the Protestant canon, describes prayers for the dead, suggesting that the dead can benefit from the prayers of the living:
      > "Therefore he made atonement for the dead, so that they might be delivered from their sin."
      2. **1 Corinthians 3:11-15**: Paul speaks of a process where a person's work is tested by fire after death, which can be interpreted as a form of purification:
      > "For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire."
      3. **Matthew 12:32**: Jesus speaks of sins that will not be forgiven in this age or in the age to come, which implies that some sins can be forgiven after death:
      > "Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come."
      4. **1 Peter 1:7**: The concept of trials and testing by fire can be seen as a metaphor for the purifying process:
      > "That the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ."
      5. **Revelation 21:27**: The description of the New Jerusalem indicates that nothing unclean will enter heaven, implying a need for purification for those who are not fully sanctified at the time of their death:
      > "But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life."
The doctrine of purgatory was formally developed in the early Church and was affirmed by Church councils, including the Council of Florence (1439) and the Council of Trent (1545-1563). It is rooted in the understanding that while Christ's sacrifice provides the grace necessary for salvation, individuals may still need purification from the temporal effects of their sins before entering into the fullness of heaven.

Don't write you are former Chatolic, if you don't believe in Saints I think you should write you are agnostic or simply not a Chatolic... Only God Can do miracles but we chatolic believe that some people who, in their life, loved God on everything (including their own life) and love the people as theirselves, they become Saints and God, for the love that they give to Him, answer to their preyer (intercession) for living people. The Holy Church does not easily recognize miracles, in the commissions there are doctors who are also non-believers or non-Catholics who have to make sure that the healing is actually inexplicable and sudden, which is why they are so rare. Otherwise three miracles a week would be recognised.... Sometimes examining commissions need years to recognize a miracle and at least two are needed to declare someone a saint.

This is truly an inspiring story! The idea of a teen being recognized as the first millennial saint by the Catholic Church is remarkable and shows that holiness and influence are not bound by age. It’s especially powerful to see someone so young, relatable, and from the digital age being celebrated for their faith and positive impact. As a "God’s influencer," this teen reminds us that modern tools like social media can be used for spreading goodness and spirituality, connecting faith with the everyday lives of young people today. This recognition also highlights how sainthood is accessible and relevant to everyone, even in our fast-paced, tech-driven world. It’s a beautiful example of how faith transcends time and continues to inspire new generations!

Before reaching the canonization it takes years. Miracles are almost the end of this path. Carlo's life was passed through a sieve. Carlo's computer was "seized" to verify the presence of elements contrary to the doctrine of faith. Friends and acquaintances were all heard and each of them was asked if they had a reason for resentment towards Carlo. In short, the journey is long and it took years to get to here. For me, Charles' holiness was already visible at his funeral. He, a wealthy young man who could have had everything, but who only had a pair of shoes because the rest was superfluous.. its coffin was surrounded by all kind of people, poor people who had been helped by him.. for my Faith, that's enough. Post scriptum: His computer continues to catch fire from time to time under the eye of the surveillance camera .. Carlo's mother smiles on it. She is not afraid. Someone else is afraid of Charles's holiness.

Canonizations are supposed to take decades if not centuries. This canonization was fast tracked. Even if the kid have evidence of being a saint, which he doesn't, it still isn't prudent and completely against tradition to do it this fast. Saints who outclass him on every level were never fast-tracked. So heck, I can come in a sock, and as long as I claim that I saw a mystical light emanating from the sock, that sock has more claim to being canonized than this kid. How far the RCC has fallen, yikes.

There is nothing mythical about it, if you try to look for ones you will see the acts of god daily. People with deadly diseases suddenly get cured and the doctors can’t explain it, people with movement disabilities suddenly improve greatly, the holy flame is ignited yearly. There are millions of documented testimonies and yet people refuse to acknowledge them because they are too lazy to change their lifestyle and beliefs.

Carlo himself prayed constantly for him to avoid purgatory, and for a young man his age, he was wise beyond his years. He went to daily Mass, said the rosary daily, and offered up prayers for everyone and everything in this world and in the next. I think we are confident, that this lad, who when he was on his death bed, prayed the rosary even when he was in immense pain, was only ever on one path, straight to the peace of the spirit realm that people often call heaven
