    Great concise video. I worked as a backround extra in 'Hoffa'.('92) An amazing moment was when 1500 men were "dead silent" between takes, & just stared at Jack Nicholson. You could hear a pin drop.

      @@JohnnieBrannonFilmwork Last week was my first time trying out background actor work, and I was there 4 days. I made it on set 3/4 days. The movie is still in production, so I'm not sure how much I can share, but I will tell you that having a good attitude and looking like you are there to work goes a long way.

    Im meeting a famous actor next week and im gonna try to speak to him about getting into the industry to see if he can give any tips or anything hopefully he does cause i would love to do background work or small scenes in movies and shows it seems like a lot of fun

      You shouldn't ever have a problem getting booked doing background on a film unless it's specific and you don't fit the criteria that BG casting is looking for. It's def a good way to get exposed as to how films are made. Real on set experience. Getting into principal work is a bit different and the actor you're meeting with will hopefully share with you their experience in how they were able to get into principal work. Good luck!

    Can a person make a good living at only doing extra background work ?

    • @JohnnieBrannonFilmwork
      @JohnnieBrannonFilmwork  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think so. Once you make it on camera and people see you, you're much done with the film unless a production is really desperate. If you watch God's Not Dead 3, which was shot in Little Rock...you'll see alot of BG used in multiple scenes because they had such a hard time finding people.

      @@JohnnieBrannonFilmwork thanks for the reply . One more thing , I’ve been told my voice is good , do you believe a voice actor voiceover actor is financially lucrative.

    • @JohnnieBrannonFilmwork
      @JohnnieBrannonFilmwork  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@smoothwill Yes! Absolutely! I have friends who live in Arkansas that does nothing but voice over work. Another friend who lives in Dallas does Anime VO all the time and they make a great living wage at it.

      @@JohnnieBrannonFilmwork you answered with voiceover work . I’m asking about tv and movie extra work . Can a person make a living doing only movie, tv, extra work that’s my question . Not voiceover work .

      @@smoothwill Sorry to get back to you so late. I wouldn't count on BG work for stability but it could also depend on where you are located. I'm in Arkansas and the BG work I did was in Louisiana. I think if you were in L.A, you would have better opportunities but that would depend on what a production would need specifically.
