Lovely podcast. Happy I found you. I knit two Moon Set Tees. Great pattern. I used a heavy lace merino and made folded hems for the sleeves and hem. Made for a smooth finish.
Yes! I bought a handful of them when I was there -- they actually make an appearance on my bookshelf in my upcoming video. The colors are just SO GOOD!
Hi Michele -loving your podcast so far! And your new sock pattern is gorgeous. I think the striped version really makes the cable pattern standout. 🧦 I wanted to comment on the knitting for olive pure silk. While I have no personal experience knitting with this yarn, my understanding is that it feels a little more rustic because the silkworms are allowed to fully mature into moths prior to the silk being harvested. As a result, the silk fibres are broken into many shorter strands and is then made into yarn. Conventional methods involve boiling the moth cocoons. This keeps the silk threads intact and you get a softer yarn, but the moths die in the process.
Thanks so much! This is so great to know, I’ve heard nothing but great things about KfO as a company and that makes me want to try this yarn. I’m so curious to see how it blocks.
Thank you!! I'll be announcing that soon. If you'd like to be notified as soon as the test call is announced, you can also sign up for my newsletter! mailchi.mp/00f8a82ac7f4/subscribe
KFO silk is raw and is rougher, but it softens up and drapes very nicely. In my opinion it’s not very good for pure stockinette, shows tension issues and it works fine but just doesn’t really stand out. It is perfect for all over lace or textured knits!
I love your sock designs but I need some sort of gusset for socks to fit. Have you considered using a strong heel? I looked at your designs and think I will at some point have to knit your pine mitts and hat. They are amazing.
Great job on your Moonset Tee. I like the Field Day Cardigan too. 🧶
Thank you! 😊

Oooh that sounds lovely! I'm thinking I will probably make another one as well.
One of my favorite things about Hazel Knits is they have mini-skeins in all yarn weights. Colorwork delight!!

Love that color palette for those socks. So excited to see more. Love your genuine style.
Thank you so much!!
As you talked about the Flock Festival, I realized your socks look like a flick if birds flying in a very specific configuration.
They actually do look like a flock of birds, don't they!?

Oh good to know, I'll keep that in mind for my next lace top!

I'll keep that in mind for future designs! Those aren't my preferred heel but I know it's nice to have multiple options.
Would love to be a tester
