- My dear friend, founder of Al-Maghrib Institute, Ustadh Muhammad AlShareef, just passed away yesterday.
I am at a loss for words...
When I first arrived as a new student in Madinah, it was Muhammad AlShareef who mentored me and gave me advice. Walking between classes, he told me of his vision one day to open up a teaching seminary and spread this knowledge we were learning to thousands of others. Years later, when he did open it up, he reached out to me while I was a graduate student, and convinced me to join.
I owe him more than words can describe. He was a true visionary, and his legacy will be felt for generations to come. He had no previous illnesses or diseases, but death can come to any of us at any time. Allah forgive him and raise his ranks!
إنّا لله وإنّا إليه راجعون

I remember those late nineties early ought days. It was either the Zaytuna-Deen Intensive- Rihla crowd, or the al-Maghrib crowd.
I gravitated towards the Zaytuna path but also attended some al Maghrib events in Texas.
May Allah reward Muhammad alShareef for his pioneering work, vision, and resolve to see it all become a reality and benefit his people. Ameen.

I met him in the early 2000s when taking an Al-Maghrib class "Tafsir of Surah Baqarah". That was literally the first non-Alif Ba Taa Islamic class I had taken.
This opened up my eyes to the very concept of Islamic studies for the first time.

اللهُـمِّ اغْفِـرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْـه، وَعافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْـه، وَأَكْـرِمْ نُزُلَـه، وَوَسِّـعْ مُدْخَـلَه، وَاغْسِلْـهُ بِالْمـاءِ وَالثَّـلْجِ وَالْبَـرَدْ، وَنَقِّـهِ مِنَ الْخطـايا كَما نَـقّيْتَ الـثَّوْبُ الأَبْيَـضُ مِنَ الدَّنَـسْ، وَأَبْـدِلْهُ داراً خَـيْراً مِنْ دارِه، وَأَهْلاً خَـيْراً مِنْ أَهْلِـه، وَزَوْجَـاً خَـيْراً مِنْ زَوْجِه، وَأَدْخِـلْهُ الْجَـنَّة، وَأَعِـذْهُ مِنْ عَذابِ القَـبْر وَعَذابِ النّـار
اللهم امين
“This world is temporary, death is real and the punishment of the grave is quite serious, so spend your days and nights in bettering yourself and getting closer to Allah.
At the time of death, all the arguments and needless word wars won't matter, all the money you amassed won't matter, all the sins you earned by indulging in backbiting, gossiping or lying won't matter.
What will matter are your good deeds - the amount of Quran you read, how you treated others, how you helped others, how much your prayed, how often you sought repentance - this is all that'll matter when your soul is about to be taken away.”

My sister's death changed me so much ........I have a clear view of the kabrastan on the same street i live from my window and it was always shut and now it's always open and I read surah mulk everyday ...even memorized it .....the barzakh series from shaikh yasir qadhi was my major relief and I thank with all my heart for the knowledge u provide us with ....May Allah swt bless with loads of health and u continue with ur good work

10:30 shed tears. May Allah forgive him. I first went to al-maghrib in 2011. The Heart Serene by Riad Ourzazi. I preceded to go to over 20+ seminars and I continue to do so in the online format. I first went to Almaghrib as a struggling teenager subhannallah.
It's only just sunk in what an impact Ustadh Muhammad AlShareef had on me!

Ustad Muhammad AlShareef was three years older than me. Oh, how I wish it was me. At times, I reflect as to can I even aspire to reach the heights of his work by 47 years, knowing I have only three years to live? Our late Ustad has lived more than we can count in years. His messages will echo as long his knowledge and seminars and webinars spread and teach us. His work will be a source of his lasting legacy. The Ustad has the vision and was brave to believe in that vision despite his contemporaries pulling him down. This quote from our late Ustad sums is yakeen, "Write your destiny with the pen of Dua".
I feel sorry for myself. Our lives are mere existence. Not reaching anyone's heart. Not creating leaders. No dreams and hopes. We are self-centered beings living for our lavish over-filled homes and amassing wealth for children, whose future we do not know. Oh, give me those three year of Ustad Muhammad and allow me to live a life for others.
Ali bin Abi Talib once asked his students at the graveyard, "What would he do if he could go back to his life?" Yes of ofcourse, he would pray, spread the word, give charity, all replied in chorus. "While he cannot, you can leave the cemetery!" Are you still sleeping in your grave? Wake up!
Al- Maghrib is the no.1 institute of the world. Ustad h Sharif Rahimuhumullah has brought the sacred knowledge to every doorstep.

I got my exposure to real islam through almaghrib forums. prior to that I was just disconnected from the religion and hated my life. well life is still tough but I have a better understanding now.

without going into detail, just to say based on personal knowledge, I am very suspicious bcz of where he passed away... uae is The capital & hq of sihir & sahara in the muslim world... & for over a decade it has not been a country welcoming/supportive of shouyuk/daees etc... eg between every 15-20 members of the police/army/security there they have a sahir who watches them through jinn... they spy on everybody using jinn targetting ppl & their homes... just check out who "bin kurdous" is, what he does... & who is his most prized client 😏
