Hailey. I truly hope you know how much these videos mean to some of us. I am much older but when you were talking about yourself a few videos back, it was like you were talking about me. None of us are alone and you doing these videos is such a great comfort. I like that you will say you didn’t do so well at this or that, but then you get right back at it. One small “blip” (I don’t want to say failure) is just that. A small blip. Tomorrow is another day to try. Because that’s all any of us can do. Try. You are a light, Hailey, and it’s so great to see you smiling and giving yourself grace. XO

I can tell how much you love the burlesque classes because you absolutely light up when talking about it! I did a ballet performance workshop in the last quarter of 2023 and I think having a performance really helped me with attendance. I always wanted to go to drop-in classes before them but could never muster the willpower to get my butt into the studio.
I also got diagnosed with ADHD as an adult (in 2021) and it has been so enlightening. Welcome to the club 😆! It's still tough even on meds but having a better+confirmed understanding of how my brain is wired helps so much with planning. On that note combined with decluttering and home organization, I think you'd enjoy looking into the Clutterbug quiz for organization styles. I haven't seen another approach like it - the short version is it classifies you into an organization type and provides tips based on whether you prefer your stuff macro or micro organized, and whether you prefer to have your things visible or out of sight.

This whole video is so relatable. « I don’t want to be living my life as endless to do lists », I struggle SO MUCH with that. It takes everything I have to tackle them (adhd-depression-anxiety trio too). But then once I’m finally checking stuff on the list it’s so thrilling and addictive I can’t stop even when I can no longer feel the joy of it. And I need to do something productive BEFORE I can sit down and spend time on a hobby, otherwise I feel bad and end up looking at the wall waiting. I’m working on balance, it’s my 2024 word. 😮‍💨

Setting stuff up for my future self was KEY for me!🙌🩷 Setting out my clothes the night before for example, i have a habit of thanking my past self. When i wake up at 5am, I'm happy i dont have to think to decide what i want, I say out loud "thank you past self, you really care about me❤" 🫶 Love yourself the way you would a dear friend.

This video was so beautiful and enlightening.I don't usually talk about this publicly but I have also struggled with similar issues, so I can definitely relate to a lot of what you're saying. Not to get into too much detail but I had gotten into a fixed mindset because I failed at something major back in 2018 or 2019. The fact I had a not-so-great person in my life at that time didn't help either. Either I didn't realize I was depressed or I was in so much denial at the time that I didn't care to explore it. I finally told my family that I needed help around a year ago and have been getting the help I needed ever since. A lot of things you have mentioned in this video were things I was told. Such as: making small changes first, the difference between something that brings you joy and a distraction, and even the spiritual self-care you were talking about. I also learned that motivation is not actually something that comes naturally, it is something that is earned. It is earned by doing things that make you feel good and sitting around all day doing nothing was more of a distraction. I was also talked to about acceptance and how important it is to accept you: your successes and your failures. Thank you so much for sharing, I understand this can be hard to talk about. Heck, it made me nervous just typing out this comment. Just like this video, I hope this comment can help someone know they're not alone 🙂

I'm 19 and just a few months ago got diagnosed with Inattentive ADHD. It all suddenly hit me why I feel so behind and broken compared to everyone else. I feel like everyone is able to shove so much into one day and it makes my accomplishments feel meaningless. I want to fit more into my day but the problem is that I don't want a strict schedule. For the first time in my life (as a freshman in college) I get to wake up with the sunrise, eat when I want, and go wherever I want. I like the fluidity of my current lifestyle, and I'm on top of assignments- but it feels like no matter how much I work into my day- classes, schoolwork, personal projects, social outings, self care, physical therapy- it's not enough. It's not that I don't have the time for it, It's just that I am so physically exhausted. I'm doing more now than I think I ever have in my life and so many things are happening that feel like wins but it still feels like it isn't enough. Thank you for this video. I want to try to check out some of those books you mentioned, and if nothing else, this video made me feel seen ☺

I love this ! So inspiring ! My big realization in 2023 was that I don’t have to live with the schedules I grec up with for foot and sleeping. So now I eat dinner between 6:30 and 7 pm instead of 8pm like most french people because at that time I still have energy if I need to cook and then I have time to relax and start getting ready for bed at 9:15 9:30 and that means I am more likely to do the dishes, do my skincare routine...

I really enjoyed this video and appreciate your sharing what worked for you and that the journey itself isn't always quick or easy. I could relate so much (though I'm more 2023 you figuring it out). It can be so hard to keep going and pushing forward. Would *love* to see how you are tackling the declutter. Shopping while sad is 100% me and the too much stuff situation is *real*. Was just talking about how overwhelmed I am by my stuff and the decisions that led me to it. Excited to keep following along and so happy you've found your happy place!

I, too, think that you have grown so much! It has been a pleasure to see you become that person!❤ and it was very motivational for me to be able to follow that and make some achievementd myself.
And don't worry about your abilities in French. Learning languages takes time. I am good at learning them and it's still not possible for me to become fluent in one in such a short period of time. I've been learning English for 10 years to get to the level it is now. So, don't worry! You will become great at it one day :)

    Hailey,
I loved this video, it was so enjoyable for me to watch. Thank you for being vulnerable and opening up conversations around mental health. As someone who has been in the mindfulness space for over 5 years, I personally don't believe you can be 'good' at meditating. I can definitely relate to working on not feeling guilty when I am not being 'productive'. This is something I have struggled with for basically as long as I can remember. I highly recommend the book The Comfort Book by Matt Haig. The book is full of short passages and you can flip to a random page and read it that way or of course you can read it from cover to cover. It is one of my favorite books of all time and can be so helpful for your mental health. I also really enjoyed Jennae Cecelia's book 'healing for no one but me'. How to Keep House While Drowning has been on my TBR for some time now, so thanks for the reminder to read it. I am so glad you found your community with burlesque. More importantly though I am so glad you are feeling better. The end of 2022 and the start of 2023 was an extremely difficult time for me. So once again I just want to say how much I appreciate you making this video about your mental health. One final thing I wanted to share is that I am a yoga teacher and I have a youtube channel where I share yoga classes. I have several yoga classes for anxiety and a few to help boost your mood as well. The name of my channel is Savannah Stuermer, if you are interested.
