Video Summary: This sidequest is the one for Edna's 2nd Mystic Arte and ofc Zaveid has a score to settle with Eizen too. Also we promised to help Edna in the beginning but things didnt turn out the way we expected.
~How to obtain Edna's 2nd Mystic Arte:
Fight Dragon Eizen after the events of Elysia then go back to where you buried Eizen and after the cutscene you should have it.

I just hope Berseria fans stop "stomping" on Sorey for Eizen's death. Even Zaveid and Edna who have lived far longer than anyone couldn't figure out how to save Eizen. That Sorey even thought he could save him means he wouldn't resort to killing easily, just because things seemed hopeless... and it was. Sorey's inability to purify Eizen only shows that the Shepherd's power wasn't perfect... same with his body growing weaker while Alisha was his squire. Fans of Alisha and Eizen makes big issues as to these "flaws" in Sorey's character... but they are perfect examples of how Shepherds aren't as godly as people think they are. It's a hassle to hear haters gripe about things that make Zestiria "better" as a game than as an anime.

Everyone has said it but this is literally 100 times more soul-crushing and heartbreaking after having played Berseria... literally so much about this game is. My heart :'(

The first time is already sad and now I'm even sadder. :'(
Sinbad Kaminari zestiria technically came out first and is also set 1000 years after Berseria. Unfortunately though, neither game explains what happened to Eizen.
@Arekasu This has changed due to the release of Berseria where Eizen is a party member and the MC IS the Lord of Calamity. We see Eizen helping her on her quest to kill the Shepard

@@mimic123231 actually berseria does explain why Eizen turns into a dragon prior set towards the year Zestiria is in. In berseria, there’s a side quest for Eizen and Zaveid where you guys fight a dragon, however, Eizen absorbed the malevolence of that dragon and going back to Zestiria now, all the malevolence that he’s been keeping back finally took a toll on him causing him to transform into a dragon himself.
Eizen is my favorite character from Berseria and watching this is a little hard.
I watching this battle and cutscene is a lot harder than before after seeing Eizen in Berseria.

If it wasn't for Berseria making this fight 100 times more tragic, it would have been a great example of bad game design. Edna joins the party to find a way to save Eizen, then after 40+ hours of not actively looking for a way to save Eizen, the game just tells you "There's no way to save him. Go put him down." It felt like getting a bad ending because you missed the chance at the good one, but the game never gave the opportunity for a good ending. That would have been fine, like a lesson in how sometimes there's no way to fix something, but they didn't really even try to fix it.
I felt depressed after realizing that Eizen from Berseria was her brother, the dude was literally my favorite character from that game. The Reaper's Curse has even gotten to the people outside of the game
Ah man I did Eizens side quest in BERSERIA too,so sad,I wish Edna and Eizen had more time together:( Thanks for everything Eizen!your sacrifice is well noted.

Well, That's what I did. It's actually interesting because Berseria gave me an odd desire to play Zesteria even though Beseria is far better as a story.
I play Berseria first and Eizen is my favorite character in the game (probably the second in the series after Jade). He's wise, smart, badass and the very definition of a MAN itself. My heart crushed when I learned about his unavoidable destiny, especially after Zaveid sidequest in Berseria. The foreshadowing was both perfect and heartbreaking for me.
Cascade Hellsing I got Zestiria soon after beating the story in Berseria and lemme tell ya...it hurts. ALOT.
I'm playing Berseria right now, haven't watched the Zestiria anime or played the game, I'm still at the part Shigure first shows up.
Why am I here then? I know Zestiria takes place after Berseria and youtube has been insistent to recommend me sutff about "Dragon Eizen", so since I already got spoiled that he would turn into a dragon, I got worried and decided to check if they ever healed the guy... But nope. They killed him. They killed my pirate, man =/

I'm glad I played Berseria first cuz Damn did this hit a LOT harder knowing who Eizen was originally, and the promise made between him and Zaveid

Man who would have thoughts that killing him was the only option after you never bothered once in the game to search for a way to purify him.

TheMonsterENVY the amount of times rose killed a hellion to spare sorey doing it was kinda a hint that some things can not be purified, which is why Idealy people fight eizen after the inn event. That is where sorey knows there's no way that a dragon can be purified
I would've been a lot more okay with this if Sorey had actually searched for a method to purify dragons without killing them, or if Eizen did something that forced Sorey's hand before something could be done. Instead, the game basically treats hellions like coma patients, which undermines (or is undermined by) what Berseria was trying to say. Well, even without taking Berseria into account, this is still pretty stupid. Because Zaveid mentioned that while no one wants to become a hellion in the first place, they sometimes have to die in order to preserve their pride. Seriously, what did they take pride in that would counter to their existence as a hellion?
What do you think their entire journey was about? And sometimes it's better to pick a more reasonable outcome than to create some new revolutionary way of purifying and getting a deus ex machina happy ending.
I wasn't asking for deus ex ending! I can accept that there won't always be a happy ending waiting for our intrepid party, but I would at least like to see them try to achieve it, anyway. Better to struggle and fail than never struggle and reach a very predictable and sour conclusion. But they never struggled for it in the slightest. How can I accept such an outcome when the group never did anything to change it? They may have agonized over it, sure, but there was no struggle here. Agonizing and struggling are not the same thing. So why should I be okay with this?
Now I wonder what it would be like if the *REAL* Edna would be in Berseria and being playable.

I thought they tied up a lot of loopholes in Beseria, and was a far superior gaming experience to the disaster that was Zesteria. Hopefully they can cover more in the sequels. I think the story of the Daemons and Shephards is an interesting one.
Maybe you need to take lessons from Frokenok3 or Krystal 109. Their gameplays are awesome! I don't think they agree with you either.

As someone who just finished Berseria today and planning to play Zesteria after hearing Berseria was a prequel.

Also, does this game do anything with Berseria's characters other than Zaveid and Eizen? Like say, Laphicet or Beinfu?
Idk if you've already played it now, but yes, this game does things with a lot of characters from Berseria. Some more than others.
Playing one of them makes you appreciate the other more :)

@@Pixel_Rocket23 His brother's malak, Morgrim, is the lord of Pendrago. The way they explain the silver flame in ToZ explains why Rokurou stayed as a daemon.

Gh0st it's mainly because Zestiria came out a full year before Berseria. So like the other guy said it's probably cause he wasnt even in concept stages yet. Lol
5 years late but I don't think any dragon in Zestiria or Berseria ever turn back into their malak/seraphim form.
WHY did this game come before Beseria?
The old producer kept making problems for the team, Japanese audiences hated this game, and the old writer retired. They wanted to make a better game and the archaeology plotline helped set-up the backdrop of Berseria's plot. A lot could be accomplished in Berseria, because Zestiria itself provided the background information.
This game's voice acting is, odd to say the least.
Glad tales of berseria did 'show not tell' better as well with the voice acting and characters.

how do you do a mystic arte on a dragon ? stupid game wont let me
+Edd Dowling The same way you do in any fight. You need the right amount of Blast and during attack to hold down the right buttons
i can do it on any monster or boss exceppt for dragons and anything thats as big as a dragon. game acts like mystic artes on big monsters is taboo
huh...thats weird. I dont rememmber having a problem doing a MA. Maybe its because Dragons and big monsters have super armor which makes it like you dont actually hit the enemy to enable the MA.

God dammit! Eizen is my favorite of them all and here he is, going to be slained by her own sister. They sure know how to play with your feelings don't they?
There sadly is no way to purify someone once they become a dragon. Death is salvation. He probably wouldnn't have turned into a Dragon if he didn't fight that Lord of Calamity, however, that Lord of Calamity would have killed Maotelus, so Eizen fought.
He turned into a dragon, killed the lord of calamity by eating him.
The anime isn't canon however as it broke every single lore found in both Tales of Zestiria and Tales of Berseria. The manga author told fans to play the game or read the manga for the best experience of Zestiria and Baba (the creator of Zestiria) told everyone to just ignore the anime.
The anime barely makes even any sense at this point, even as a stand alone title and not an adaptation, as it has so many contradictions within its own storyline that makes me question ufotable's writing quality.

It's not canon as it doesn't match up with the Official Timeline from the source material and the World Guidance Books.
1 Shepherd and 2 squires were able to purify 1 dragon when 100 Shepherds 200 years ago couldn't do the same on a weaker dragon, makes no sense. A lot of the things in the anime makes no sense.

Hella Steve Eizen is the best dam party member in beseria making this fight alot sader when I realized Eizen was Edna's brother I got a deep pit in my stomach knowing this is his ultimate fate T.T he's such a great character but sadly it seems the reapers' curse did him in, in the end after all. If you don't know what that is basically Eizen from the moment of his birth was cursed with bad luck no matter how much he flip a coin it land on tails but no matter what happened he would always fight that misfortune turning him into a badass pirate believing in living his life to the fullest despite anything that happened to him this fate is just cruel.
Demi-Fiend of Time not even a double headed coin worked...1 got taken by a bird in midair, 2nd was taken by griphon, and the 3rd shattered...know what can I just leave eizen as a dragon and pretend he's cured?

To be honest berseria is a whole lot better than zestiria I honestly hated the Sorey character he was just so annoying the story wasn't that good either and the other characters were not interesting at all zavied and Edna were the only two I like and it really sucked that eizen was killed
