This is such a weird scene. The way Edna and Dezel were acting at first, I thought 'oh no, has everyone been corrupted by malevolence in this ending?' And then I remembered that they're just a pair of little shits. :D
I remember this, when I was hunting Mutant helions, I accidentally bumped into heldalf. I was so pissed that I have to beat him cause my last save was like 2hrs ago.
*MASSIVE SPOILERS* . . . . . To anyone who doesn't understand, by killing Heldalf and not learning of what exactly caused him to become The Lord of Calamity or without knowing about Heldalf being Maotelus' current vessel, Sorey and company doomed the world. Because not only was Heldalf tethered to Maotelus, but was tethered to a hellionized Maotelus, who as a result of the amount of malevolence that Heldalf contained, ended up becoming a dragon. And with Maotelus being the strongest and leader of the Five Lords, a dragon-Maotelus would most likely be an unwinnable situation.
I don't think it implied in the ending of Berseria that Maotelus is the strongest Empyrean. Remember the 4 Elemental Empyrean said that there should be a 5th Empyrean to keep the world in balance, however, it didn't say that the 5th Empyrean is the strongest. Though I agree that a dragon-Maotelus is a fucked up situation. Lol
Maotelus IS a dragon to begin with! Take a look at the ending of Berseria... * SPOILERS * He is just a WHITE dragon originally, but after becoming a helion he was tainted and therefore he become black.
How is it an unwinnable situation? Sorey can still find the original Innominat and unseal him along with Velvet. The Innominat and Velvet has the power to consume malevolence and might save the world once again. I wont mind a 3rd series for this tale series but I figure there will be even more sad endings :(
I think it's also implying that Sorey doesn't know about the whole epic story of Velvet and co. Remember, the other chars who could really tell all the story to Sorey and Mikleo instead went full-ass mofo, because he needed to find "his answer" (C). Which is, like, a huge plot hole - wouldn't it be better to find a moral choice within yourself when you actually know what happened? Moreover, you CAN NOT and SHOULD NOT rely on the answer that is based on desinformation or lack thereof. Well, apparently it worked for them. Yes, in the anime this is not the case, but in the game it definitely is. They go separate ways in therms of story. In the end, I liked the game and the story, but I was really down because of these plotholes. Ofcourse I do understand they needed to keep some things quiet for the sake of fresh sequel (or a prequel, actually) and a proper continuation of the story, but it just feels somewhat... lacky.
+UnderdogHero Well for me even now i just can't understand how defeating heldalf at this time make a bad ending in the end, since it's the main antagonist to defeat.
It's not that hard once you stop to contemplate how they stop Maotelus in the real ending. Because yes, when you kill the antagonist in the ending, Maotelus was gonna awake to tear shit up. But since Sorey knew already he had already planned to use himself as a purification vessel. In this ending however Sorey does not knows this. He's not prepared, so once Maotelus awakes it's all over, there's no plan to stop it. The realending's plan works only because Maotelus was still sleeping.
Well, it's a very bad ending. Okay, Edna like annoying Mikleo. But this time, I feel like it's not for fun, but for wickedness. Dezel can like Edna's jokes, why not, but he looks cruel and sadistic too, he's enjoying seeing Mikleo in pain. Especially with this tongue... And these words : "by the way Dezel, why Mikleo looks just awfull yesterday" are really not gentle. Only Rose seems to realize that something is wrong, and she had a bad feeling about Sorrey. They are probably doomed by the malevolence.
Did people really not get the scene? should be easy once you actually finish the game. Basically, you killed The Lord of Calamity so now Maotelus is out and about destroying the world. Which is exactly what the huge dragon-like monster that showed up at the very end was. This is precisely the reason why Sorey did that whole "sacrificing his body as a vessel" thing at the end of Zestiria.
i just finished the game and i totally understand why it would give this ending when you kill heldalf too early...he was storing all the malevolence and if you kill him you release all of it and everyone will just be tainted by malevolence...all the hard work will go for naught...that's why lailah was just quiet coz she knows it was a bad decision but her oath prevents her from telling sorey why...i would do this on my 2nd playthrough...there's a save point anyway...bad ending get trophy/achievement and reload. gg ez.
ShinRyutora ShinRyutora No. That's not what happened. The reason why they couldn't kill Hedalf early was because Maotelus was using him as his vessel. They had to sever the link with the Siegfried so they could safely defeat Heldalf without freeing the corrupted Maotelus who would destroy the world. And then Sorey would be able to use himself as a vessel for Maotelus so he could purify him. They literally explain this in game.
If I had to guess, Edna and Dezel are very corrupt themselves. It's only from Sorey being the vessel that they themselves aren't hellions; emotionally, they seem pretty much gone.
I wonder about this ending in terms of 'What does Velvet think?' First her little brother offers himself up Immoniant, a being that stops malvolence and Velvet sarfices herself so she can be with him and he could feed off her for enternity. Now her other little brother figure has been corrupted by malvolence himself and is going to destroy everything.
LovelyCinccino even though you put this a year ago I just still have to say the other laphicet was actually the reincarnated malak of her sister's baby who wasn't born yet technically making the other laphicet Velvet's nephew
@@LittleWhole no. a reincarnated malak may bring the previous life memory. but, they have no relatives. so, the died person and reincarnated malak are different
tbh this seems like the ending of a shitty horror movie. "they thought they had killed all the mutant sharkturtlesnakepandas.... but in reality... one survived"
You kill the Lord of Calamity early on in the game and I was really overleveled and I thought I had to fight him to progress through the story and then got this ending.
Eizen became dragon and killed too... Magilou wrote Celestial record and live alone until died...(probably) Rokurou killed on the way... Eleanor can't met any her seraph or daemon friends then died old... no one in Berseria got happy Ending...
it isn't a "bad ending" it's an optional ending that can be acquired about mid way through the game. it's just a little "what if" showing what would happen in an alternate reality where the Shepard did not have all the facts.
@@nichoudha lmao imagine if right before that happened Velvet accidentally stopped devouring Innominat and he goes beserk again after 1000 years and stops Maotelus
Yeah, it's Maotelus, he's freed since his vessel containing him with a curse died. And Maotelus as a Hellion wandering in the world means it's the end of the world. :D
Imagine if right before Maotelus comes to kill everyone after being corrupted, Velvet stops devouring Innominat, thus breaking the seal, causing Innominat to go berserk again and purify Maotelus. After all, Maotelus is only a mere a part of Innominat, meaning Innominat is stronger, and Innominat also has the power of the Silver Flame to burn away malevolence, so Innominat could in theory stop corrupted hellionized Maotelus. Of course, he'd probably suppress everyone right after doing that lol
@@CeeFF just a lucky guy who discovered the tales series far too late and now enjoying all parts of it :) played arise, zestiria and now finished berseria. i wasnt aware of that ending in zestiria and im surprised by the connections between both games now ^^
I met heldaf in one of his miasma domain not in Aifread Hunting Ground though i forgot the name of the place but it's in early to midway in the game that leads to the village Goddodin but I was afraid to approach him but I muster up the courage in the end and The Seraphim in my party were gone and I only fight him with Sorey and Rose only and lose the fight and I didn't know if we beat him it will lead us to a bad ending, Lailah is kinda scary in this ending though
I didn't know there was such an ending when I played. I followed the game's objectives because I thought I had to, going after every star I saw, and now I'm really glad for it. Sorey accidentally damming the world by not getting all the facts horrifies me because, done properly, he's responsible for purifying the entire continent. How easily things could have gone so wrong.
+Falcom NPC Three cheers for the most awkward bad ending in history XD Seriously, though, it's true. This ending really didn't fit well. It's just kinda....random.
So what is the canon reason why the party can't just beat Maotelus's ass like everyone else. If they can beat Heldaff they should at least stand a chance.
There are various problems that would happen with Maotelus coming back and having gone mad, corrupted by the excess malevolence Heldalf releases if his ties to Maotelus as his vessel are not severed first before he is killed. Maotelus is the only known source of the Power of Purification and the entire world is within his domain, and his nature affects it. If he is corrupted like he is in this ending the Power of Purification could cease to exist, which means Sorey and co. wouldn't be able to purify hellions but only kill them, and even that would become more difficult. Maotelus' Domain would be one of malevolence instead of purification, which would start to destroy the planet and turn everyone and everything into hellions en masse, and not being able to curb the spread with purification would cause hellions to multiply more quickly. Sorey and Rose would even become overcome and eventually corrupted by the malevolence and become hellions and their seraphim allies who use them as vessels would also be corrupted and eventually turn into dragons. So in this scenario the situation is bleak.... Maotelus has gone mad and will start destroying everything, and is also corrupting the entire world.... humans and other animals and some objects are becoming hellions, seraphim are becoming dragons, resources are withering and poisoned. If Maotelus was able to be killed by Sorey and co. it would only delay the inevitable as the damage and loss of life due to the malevolence and hellions would be immeasurable. It's a lose lose situation all around.
this reminds me of hyperdimension neptunia mk2 conquest ending where the other CPU's are killed to power a cursed sword but in the end everything will soon face destruction
If Lailah had told them the truth, she would have broken her pact, which would lead to the loss of her power to purify hellions and maybe even her dead. What would be Game over anyway.
I encountered him at that giant bridge once, so if I could somehow manage to defeat him there, bad ending happens?, I mean if it's actually possible because at that point in the story your seraphim characters get blocked and unavailable, you only have sorey and rose with permanent cursed state that makes you move slower than a snail and can't really retaliate against Heldalf. BUT if there was ANY chance to defeat him at THAT point, would I get this ending too?
I don't know why, but during this fight, I had him at half HP for a long time, then it goes off-something like "You're going to commit to malevolence to beat me?" Then Sorey is like "We have to find another way." and the fight ends. Basically, the game refused to give me the bad ending, wtf. lol
+lmotaku Hmm strange. The trigger is definitely finicky, how long is the fight lasting? Maybe if you take too long he says that, but never heard of that before.
swillo Took me much longer to get half than the video. I didn't exactly prepare myself to fight him at that point. I was use to Tales of games doing the whole "You beat him to a point, but it's too early in the game, so you get the characters talking and it moves on." That's what happened to me.
I honestly didn't even know you could get an optional/this kind of ending I just played and learned the story 2 or 3 times to fully understand everything...still this was not an ending I would if found
Laphicet was a part of Innominat. Velvet's crews defeated Innominat with no problem, albeit they used the other 4 dragons to counter some of his power. Berseria cast seems to be way more competent than this group.
So i kinda confused. People said killing heldalf will free maotelus to go rampant, plus this tethered thinggy stuff. Why doesn't maotelus go on a rampage on himself? Like lailah or mikleo can running around on themself, on their own will right? So why?
Apparently heldalf took control of Maotelus himself, as shown in the final battle, where heldalf is cornered and armatize himself with maotelus to become ths "dragon heldalf" thing. MAYBE maotelus's own will was blocked by heldalf's control, cmiiw
weird bad ending indeed. the last scene it can be like a giant monster is about to wipe out the entire party inside the house. so what's the point of making Helldalf appear as normal encounter if they going to lead to bad ending.
Yousef Hanbali SPOILER ALERT! Yep, he's Laphicet, after Innominat was sealed away due to him going crazy, there was no one to purge the accumulated Malevolence from the world(which was Innominat's job), so he took Innominat's place as the Fifth Empyrean, Maotelus.
So... lemme get this straight. You beat Kittybeard BEFORE the supposed boss battle, and Corrupted Maotelus comes and gobbles everyone up? Or is it that with no more vessel (I always assumed that Heldalf is Maotelus's vessel) the world is now fully corrupted with malevolence... Then again, I'm only speculating... ... ... ... ... Eh?
can someone explain me whats happening and what the thing in the end is? i mean in the normal/good ending sorey kills heldalf aswell. he just hasnt found his answer yet so whats the big deal?
+Anshar July Oh, so I must of missed something in the story. Heldalf dying cause maotelus to be released and he was corrupted immediately by the Malevolence?
+Skippy the Walrus Maotelus was already corrupted by the malevolence but heldalf absorbed him making them one. But before he could absorb him in this version they kill him which still leaves Maotelus who eventually gets released
+PreeSasukeUchiha But that doesnt make sence. Maotelus was trapped in a barrier by Mikleos mother for such a long time. He shouldnt be able to come out. And even if Sorey and his friends would just slay the Maotelus dragon like the other 2 dragons and Heldalf before. My Sorey was overleveled as fuck, no problem.
You're making the mistake of confusing gameplay with story. Being overleveled means shit in the story itself. As for the barrier used by Mikleo's mother, it was a barrier to prevent people from entering the place more than leaving. You honestly think one of the Seraphim Lords could actually be stopped by a barrier a human put up? The barrier didn't even manage to stop Heidalf once he had powered up. Just think of it this way more. There's an implication that the only reason Maotelus remained asleep was because a Lord of Calamity already existed. Once the current Lord of Calamity dies, as Lailah recounts, a new one will arise in time. SO basically,Maotelus was awakened to take the mantle of Lord of Calamity.
its not another problem...maotelus is unkillable. lol. no need to have a boss battle against him. PS. see maotelus is so strong that after he appeared they are all dead. how do you fight a battle where all 6 of you are dead? that's right GAME OVER. "The End" if you finished the game the ending says "Fin" as in the story is finished unlike this where you hit a bump and its "the end" no matter what you do. maotelus so savage his hellion gives no hope.
I'd love to see a sequel to Zesty. the gameplay left something to be desired, true, but I play the Tales series for its stories alone. If the far future is low on malevolence enough that Sorey is able to come back, it would be cool if it could take place then. Something arises to cause a threat to the world again, and shepherd n' friends have to stop it. maybe bring Velvet into the picture again at some point. Though if malevolence is low, that may be hard considering she's a Therion......maybe she could be the antagonist? that seems like a decent story enough. *sigh* A boy can dream......
+swillo Soooo, I haven't completed the game yet and I don't intend to get the bad ending but without any major plot spoilers or anything like that, how exactly does killing the lord of all calamity cause it to rain for eternity and spawn a giant godzilla? Like, I don't get how this slippery slope started but I'd like to have some sense made out of it.
+lildanial1 Basically he wanted you to beat him, If you win this way, you ended up falling into the trap of his plan, however you can only do this AFTER beating all four Element Shrines (Otherwise you can barely move much less use anyone besides Sorey and Rose in his doman areas), However you can avoid this ending by just doing what the game tells you (Go to where you first met him in the story where those twin assassin's will redirect you to Pendrago, After dealing with the events there which I won't say cause again spoilers, Do as the game tells you till you fight him PROPERLY outside the Earth Shrine location)Hope that helps ya. Believe me the proper fight with him outside the Earth Shrine will likely make you aware that he wants you to beat him since he keeps goading Sorey into kill him and reveals he's been leading you on (Preventing you from entering Areas your not suppose is his (and the creators) idea of keeping you on the Linear path of the story basically, well his was insuring you got the power from each of the shrines so you COULD fight him without being crushed by his domain.
+paulman34340 I actually like that you can enter areas you aren't supposed to and then get brutally murdered because of it. Also I still don't get how that summons Godzilla.
lildanial1 But that enters Spoilers territory which you asked NOT to cross, so you'll just have to beat the game to find out yourself :) They always say you can go anywhere...though that's the same as you have to choices, you want to get shot or not get shot
Can somebody tell me if this was an actual scene in the anime...I haven't watched it yet but if somebody can spoil if this was an actual scene or not than thanks
No, Heidalf died and he was the only thing that was keeping the Corrupted Maotelus fromn going on a world-destroying rampage. The moment Heidalf dies, Maotelus got freed. Basically, killing him early shows you the consequences of just blindly defeating your enemies without understanding the whole situation.
Ritsu_oAo Heldalf began as a good guy.He was a general and his country's hero (heck, the knights still regard him as a respected former leader). Of course this changed as he was pressured under the war's duress and the incident at the Maotelus Shrine, but the guy was still acting on his nation's interest (just so happens that the Sheperd's village didn't recognize the authority of anyone and Hyland was ready and willing to invade the village as well). It wasn;tuntil he got cursed and lived a life of pure hell that he got corrupted into Calamity itself. This is significantly diferent from Hyland's leaders who instigate civil unrest, send their own royalty into a death trap and invade the Seraphim;s village simply because they want to cement their power as Hyland;s true leaders.
@@Elly3981 Only because it was made with Berseria in mind! Which the game was made WITHOUT (As good as they did to connect much to the games to make since and great for Fridge Brilliance/Horror, It's still obvious Berseria and Zestiria were never original suppose to have connections before they made it so!) Still feel Game's Main Ending is the better of the two (even though I agree Anime was abit better LOL)
It's because Sorey hasn't learned everything he should have and technically strong enough to beat him. They also never meet Symonne and Zaveid never joins the team like in the true ending. And as you see at the end of a hellionized Maotelus which means the team didn't purify him like in the actual end so by the looks of it everyone technically "dies" in this end though we wouldn't know for sure what happens as it cuts off as soon as Maotelus appears.
I'm guessing your supposed to assume they die either because this Maotelus is somehow stronger or because they had beaten the lord of calamity and weren't at all ready to jump into another battle so it go the drop on them.
+Isaiah Spicer Of course it's real this had to be before they found Sammone (Did I spell that right i don't think i did) in Pendarago and Dezel sacrificed himself which would be the reason he is still alive in this.
Short answer: Heldalf and Maotelous ( the Dragon at the end) have some weird curse that stops Maotelous from doing stuff unless Heldalf dies. So killing Heldalf unleashes a Dragon even stronger than Tiamat or Eizen.
What the fuck the final boss popped up at the house. (Sorey) let's kill heldalf (everyone) k sure (heldalf) FAK! KILLED ME (everyone) YAAYYYY (heldalf dragon) SIKE (Everyone dies) (Mario's game over music) lmao
SPOILERS BELOW. (Explaining why this ending exists) Maotelus is still corrupted. Heldalf is Maotelus' Vessel, and defeating Heldalf without him being armatized does NOT purify Maotelus. The dragon you see for a second or two is Maotelus coming to destroy the world.
They killed Heldalf too early. Before you fight him you must first find out the truth, as in the past. Know your enemy before you defeat him. Heldalf had Maotelus contained inside him, Maotelus is a corrupted seraphim and the moment Heldalf dies Maotelus is freed and he will destroy the world. This is the Bad Ending.
if you finished the game or even just reached the 2nd battle of glaivend you'll understand why this bad ending makes sense...its in jrpg culture to put bad endings on their games...besides you can just reload from where you saved it before getting the bad ending...also rpg players are either completionists or speed runners...the fastest ending would be doing this ending...not the best to do but an ending is an ending...
Jonét Harry well what's the point of accessing certain areas too early too? its not like the game is open world. heldalf appearing and strong malevolence hindering further exploration is a cooler way of saying "its too early to be here" instead of just not being able to acces the map period. a lot of rpg games just wont let you access the area if the story doenst permit you yet but zestiria made a cool reason why you cant or shouldnt access certain areas yet...also the bad ending is a punishment in trying to go too far ahead without following the story hence no trophy. i dont think its pointless...in a game where it isnt open world this was a bright idea IMHO...you have your opinions this is IMHO.
I'm so disappointed with this game... It was my first Tales of and I loved the beginning, I thought the story would be more complex as the time goes on but no... And now this WTF bad ending...
1. This is a horrible tales of game to start off with. please don't let it trick you into thinking they're bad. 2. Ending fits the bland main character. 3. This ending is just an extra that can only be obtained after beating the game because through the first play through you don't have the equipment to kill him at that time.
+PreeSasukeUchiha I completely agree with that. ToZ was pretty bad. It was an ok (cannot stress "OK enough!) jrpg but not fitting at all to be considered a tales game for me. For me its only redeeming quality was in the fact that like the other tales games ive played, it did get me emotionally involved with the story, i did get nearly teary eyed in one of the cutscenes.
+TalesOfFan Same, I think it was just the fact that that like all tales of games its 60+ hours of gameplay and when we think all of our characters are dying in the final fight it got me very sad. Until I kept dying because I was getting rid of the best seraphim first. The ending got me really emotional as well but Sorey was just unbearable I like the cool anger filled characters or the calm and determined characters. Sorey was like Goku but not jolly enough to be likeable and not serious enough to seem like a good character either. The tales of berseria main character looks like she fits the cool anger filled role I'm looking for through
PreeSasukeUchiha The characters didn't die. Sorey even realized they had survived their sacrifice before he went into deep sleep. Rose became the shepard after Sorey. And supposedly about 100 years past and Sorey awoke hinted to have become a Seraphim himself. Saddest part for me is the fact that Sorey couldn't be with any of the female leads and he stood over Rose's grave i believe.
What hurts is the fact that Dezel is in this ending
+shotstar24 i wonder how much longer its gonna rain
*crys in the corner*
+DeepSearch27 dear god stop making me cry please. i cant take this no more. best character in the game. :'(
Are you sure it isn't Maotelus who became corrupted by the malevolence from Heldaff which would make more sense.

I can't believe Eizen actually has more health than Heldalf lol
Eizen...... The fucking turtlez had 108,000 HP lmao
To be fair, Eizen's been around longer then Heldalf (like REALLY been around a long time if you've played Berseria)
I played berseria velvet would wipe the floor with Heldalf
Any ending that Dezel's alive is a good ending to me
Dokomanari Michuo you have my respect
Lol, this is the ending where EVERYONE DIES. Including Dezel...)
well he won't be alive after dragon maotelus erupted from the land and shits on everything in site. Laphicet boutta fuck shit up

This laphi isn't her actual brother it's #2 she took from theresa
@@buttertoast1146 yeah but he's the reincarnated form of Artorius' son so technically he's family?
@@LittleWhole no. a reincarnated malak may bring the previous life memory. but, they have no relatives. so, the died person and reincarnated malak are different
cz, Laphicet (Maotelus) is a part of Innominat. If Innominat dies, Maotelus would die too. That's why Velvet made endless feed cycle with Innominat
ooooooooh i almost forgot maotelus is still corrupted!
syafickix And when you think he is cute little Laphiset (SP) from the prequel makes it sadder even still.
Still not sure how, the game was kinda vague and we never actually hear Maotelus speak.
tbh this seems like the ending of a shitty horror movie.
"they thought they had killed all the mutant sharkturtlesnakepandas.... but in reality... one survived"
that moment, sorey know,.,,,, he fucked up
This ending I remember getting it. The start seemed so happy, then I saw Sorey and Laliah and I knew I fucked up.
how did you fucked up? :P how do you get this ending?
You kill the Lord of Calamity early on in the game and I was really overleveled and I thought I had to fight him to progress through the story and then got this ending.
0:43 Lailah ran into the firefight just to get kicked out lol
nice one
Poor Velvet, she didnt sacrifice herself for this Laphicet.
And poor Laphicet for being corrupted. He didn't deserve this :(
Eizen became dragon and killed too...
Magilou wrote Celestial record and live alone until died...(probably)
Rokurou killed on the way...
Eleanor can't met any her seraph or daemon friends then died old...
no one in Berseria got happy Ending...
I think Magilou had offspring though
Celestial Record was written by Shepherd Michael, 20 years before Sorey, not Magilou.
Magilou didn't wrote the celestial records
Rewarded weridly by being skillful enough to beat him.
GG
I find it extremely funny that the normal battle theme is playing while your fighting basicly the final boss
Didn't even know this game had a bad ending.
it isn't a "bad ending" it's an optional ending that can be acquired about mid way through the game.
it's just a little "what if" showing what would happen in an alternate reality where the Shepard did not have all the facts.
It's implied Maotelus killed them all.
@@nichoudha lmao imagine if right before that happened Velvet accidentally stopped devouring Innominat and he goes beserk again after 1000 years and stops Maotelus
@@LittleWhole well inominant will awaken in another 4000 years as he awakens every 5000 years to supress humanity
@@blackchase6732 i don't think he will. he was permanently sealed away in an eternal sleep and maotelus took his place. it's unlikely to happen
I like this ending better after finishing both zestiria and berseria.
this bad ending makes perfect sense when you actually finish both games.
soooo... godzilla came and ate them alive?
+Mrs Gamer Pretty much.
+Mrs Gamer Maotelus
Basch The dragon is Maotelus? i thought it was Eizen or just some random dragon lol
Yeah, it's Maotelus, he's freed since his vessel containing him with a curse died. And Maotelus as a Hellion wandering in the world means it's the end of the world. :D
Laphi:(((((
Imagine if right before Maotelus comes to kill everyone after being corrupted, Velvet stops devouring Innominat, thus breaking the seal, causing Innominat to go berserk again and purify Maotelus.
But she cant stop feeding it be impossible cuuz lapi is feeding on her as well its a infinity loop
I'm guessing Lailah could sense the impending doom and that is why she is ominously and quietly staring out the window?
That and she was probably tryna think of corny joke to say b4 they're end

Skip to 5:56 if you don't wanna see the battle scene,... and the battle noises
Huh I didn't even know there was a different ending this is so cool !
Bad Sorey went and woke up Laphicet
I didn't know there was such an ending when I played. I followed the game's objectives because I thought I had to, going after every star I saw, and now I'm really glad for it. Sorey accidentally damming the world by not getting all the facts horrifies me because, done properly, he's responsible for purifying the entire continent. How easily things could have gone so wrong.
Me: *Prematurely attacks Final Boss*
Edna: "I like your moxie."
Me: "Well... that's one thing to call it. I guess..."
Sorey and Rose disliked this video.
Ha!
+Crystal Moon Personally I felt that the Bad End in ToZ was kind of weak as to what I was expecting to happen but thank you. : 3
+Falcom NPC HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
+Falcom NPC Three cheers for the most awkward bad ending in history XD Seriously, though, it's true. This ending really didn't fit well. It's just kinda....random.
Is it really? They kill The Lord of Calamity,Maotelus gets freed, Maotelus destroys the world. Sounds pretty straight forward to me.
fml this bad ending had me in my feels
LOL - I'd have thrown the PS4 right through the wall if I got that ending!
It's a lose lose situation all around.
this reminds me of hyperdimension neptunia mk2 conquest ending where the other CPU's are killed to power a cursed sword but in the end everything will soon face destruction
never in my life was i happy to be underlevel but now after watching this ending i am TTWTT
Also the fact he doesn't put up a fight that much.
So Lailah knew this is supposed to be the case but didn't tell the team?
The rest was too far gone with evil. Even if she would have, it would be no point. It was the end if the word basically
Dezel and his tongue thing doesn't even make sense to me. I'm actually pissed off about it.
I could've sworn Heldaf said if Sorey beat him then he'd become the new Heldalf or something.
He said another Lord of calamity would be born which is true
I love the whole notion that the only thing you did was kill one evil dude, the actual problem was never addressed
I didn't know there is an ending like this in Zestiria. How can I get this ending?
I don't know why, but during this fight, I had him at half HP for a long time, then it goes off-something like "You're going to commit to malevolence to beat me?" Then Sorey is like "We have to find another way." and the fight ends. Basically, the game refused to give me the bad ending, wtf. lol
+lmotaku You probably did it too late. You have to do it immediately after finishing the wind temple or it will be too late.
swillo It was immediately after, and I didn't miss him any time he was around, except maybe Camelot Bridge.
+lmotaku You did it too late. That's the proper good-story version.
Sorey: Nice! We defeated the Lord of Calamity!
Laphicet: Wait. That's illegal.
I honestly didn't even know you could get an optional/this kind of ending
I just played and learned the story 2 or 3 times to fully understand everything...still this was not an ending I would if found
and then, they stayed in this thing forever cuz the rain never stopped. di end
Laphicet was a part of Innominat. Velvet's crews defeated Innominat with no problem, albeit they used the other 4 dragons to counter some of his power. Berseria cast seems to be way more competent than this group.
wouldn't "other 4 dragons" be somewhat of a big difference? just wondering lol
Yet the other 4 are no where to be seen in this game?
Berseria crew objectively OP
The game: your goal to finish heldalf
Also the game: beat him too early and you get a bad ending
Me: ._. What?...
I like this ending better then then the real one.
@Tattle Boad as flawed as the anime was, at least the the ending was superior to the game.
Velvet didn't sacrifice herself for this :(
And here I am just wanting that costume
weird bad ending indeed. the last scene it can be like a giant monster is about to wipe out the entire party inside the house. so what's the point of making Helldalf appear as normal encounter if they going to lead to bad ending.
Maotelus???
+AsbelLhant100 yup
Hooooooooooooooly shit... O_O
AsbelLhant100 He wasn't purified yet
Is maotelus is laphicet. .. i dont get it??
Then again, I'm only speculating...
...
...
...
... Eh?
Theirs a reason why heldalf wanted you to kill him. Cause this shit would happen
The earth is maotelus's vessel heldalf was just connected with maotelus
WOAH THERE ARE FUCKING DIFFERENT ENDINGS
HOLY SHIT I BETTER START PLAY ZESTY AGAIN
why is beating heldalf before the endgame a BAD ending? And what was up with the dragon!?
Because something really bad (hence this bad ending) happens when you jump to conclusions and don't understand the circumstances that created Heldalf
so... why not let us play that instead of just "heres a bad end. deal with it."/
Bad end = everybody dies
Nobody to play as if the world ends
but for them all to die in that very moment? hard to believe...
the dragon's precisely why beating heldalf before endgame is bad.
Spoiler: The giant lizard is not Godzilla, it is Maoltelus, keep playing the game and figure out that he is a hellion.
+Ichi Tetsu *That he turned into one and thus allowed the malevolence to spread inside of his domain which is basically the whole continent.
how do you make them stay armatized? The AI always dearmatize for no reason.
I am so glad I didn't get that ending
can someone explain me whats happening and what the thing in the end is?
i mean in the normal/good ending sorey kills heldalf aswell. he just hasnt found his answer yet so whats the big deal?
+Kai tri maotelus is still corrupted!
+PreeSasukeUchiha
But that doesnt make sence.
What is the name of the song in the beggining? The song of this domain?
Really? He just defeated me in our 1st fight. And dezel died, replaced with Zavied. Omg. Is it the bad ending? 😭
Just curious, does this happen right after you win the battle? Then does it give you the option to start at your last save?
+Sara Lata Yes it happens right after the battle and you go back to your last save.
wow thankfully I not got that final D:
in fact I did not even know gave to finish the game in this part
It's an alternative ending
Sam This is fake how you get this ending?
What the...? How could THIS be The End??? It's like some other problem started, not 'The End'! Wow, these producers must have did this in a rush.
It's just an extra ending for people who rushed the game and beat the final boss before they supposed to have to.
its not another problem...maotelus is unkillable. lol. no need to have a boss battle against him.
PS. see maotelus is so strong that after he appeared they are all dead. how do you fight a battle where all 6 of you are dead? that's right GAME OVER.
*sigh* A boy can dream......
better if sorey and velvet joins forces
I don't get the final clip. I mean I know it's a bad ending but what's going on?
+Mikey Ann At this point, Maotelus is still corrupted. If Sorey can't purify him, he's just gonna stomp everyone. The end.
Thanks, also stomping everyone? i can actually picture that happening, lol
Hi, is this after doing the Earth Fire and Water then Wind Trial as final before you can fight him?
+kenrz Yes, right after you finish the wind temple, go fight him.
+swillo Alright, Thanks!
wowww. the animation is beautiful
Will be more in July , another anime adaptation of zestiria :)
so if u kill him it just rains and the balance of the world or something is wahck
Please don't tell you'll get a Trophy for this bad ending
+X0209 No you don't
+swillo oh okay, I was just thinking, thanks anyway
That world needs some powerfull holy magic or somthing XD
Is this Part of a Trophy, Like in Xillia 2 or Just an extra ending.
+Rudy Reeves Just an extra ending.
Also I still don't get how that summons Godzilla.
lildanial1 But that enters Spoilers territory which you asked NOT to cross, so you'll just have to beat the game to find out yourself :)
They always say you can go anywhere...though that's the same as you have to choices, you want to get shot or not get shot
weird how just killing the bad guy and getting on with your life is the *wrong* option. goes against most gaming mechanics :P
Can somebody tell me if this was an actual scene in the anime...I haven't watched it yet but if somebody can spoil if this was an actual scene or not than thanks
So you have to fight him when Dezel is still with you?
so you Kill him and the Big bad Guy turns in to a HellionDragon is that what it is ?
I think that was Maotelus actually since he is corrupt and was a seraphim.
So Heldalf is kind of good? He doesn't want world destruction since he was keeping Maotelus contained right?
Ritsu_oAo Heldalf began as a good guy.He was a general and his country's hero (heck, the knights still regard him as a respected former leader). Of course this changed as he was pressured under the war's duress and the incident at the Maotelus Shrine, but the guy was still acting on his nation's interest (just so happens that the Sheperd's village didn't recognize the authority of anyone and Hyland was ready and willing to invade the village as well). It wasn;tuntil he got cursed and lived a life of pure hell that he got corrupted into Calamity itself.
This is significantly diferent from Hyland's leaders who instigate civil unrest, send their own royalty into a death trap and invade the Seraphim;s village simply because they want to cement their power as Hyland;s true leaders.
that's why after you get all spirit arts you go collect all iris gems lel.
Does this ending have the same ending as the anime??
no
No, this is a bad ending for the game. But even the game's best ending is a bit sad. The anime, for all its flaws, has the superior ending.
@@Elly3981 Only because it was made with Berseria in mind! Which the game was made WITHOUT (As good as they did to connect much to the games to make since and great for Fridge Brilliance/Horror, It's still obvious Berseria and Zestiria were never original suppose to have connections before they made it so!)
Still feel Game's Main Ending is the better of the two (even though I agree Anime was abit better LOL)
That’s how you knew you screwed up 😂😂😂😂
I don't get it how is beating him early a bad ending
It's because Sorey hasn't learned everything he should have and technically strong enough to beat him. They also never meet Symonne and Zaveid never joins the team like in the true ending. And as you see at the end of a hellionized Maotelus which means the team didn't purify him like in the actual end so by the looks of it everyone technically "dies" in this end though we wouldn't know for sure what happens as it cuts off as soon as Maotelus appears.
ah I see
I'm guessing your supposed to assume they die either because this Maotelus is somehow stronger or because they had beaten the lord of calamity and weren't at all ready to jump into another battle so it go the drop on them.
is this applicable to PC vrs? do i need dlc to get that part??
This is if you beat maotelus before your supposed to during the story no dlc needed. This is maotelus unpurified
How is dezel even alive I though he dies. So is this even real
+Isaiah Spicer Of course it's real this had to be before they found Sammone (Did I spell that right i don't think i did) in Pendarago and Dezel sacrificed himself which would be the reason he is still alive in this.
oh (also I don't know if you did lol) but anyway thanks for explaining that to me :)
+Isaiah Spicer No problem :)
The player fought with hendalf before dezel sacrifice, that'd why you see him in this battle
I have good ending but can't access katz
how do you get that ending?
So how do I get this Ending?
Moon X Blast in the description
What does it mean?
Short answer: Heldalf and Maotelous ( the Dragon at the end) have some weird curse that stops Maotelous from doing stuff unless Heldalf dies. So killing Heldalf unleashes a Dragon even stronger than Tiamat or Eizen.
cool game play I'm getting it tomorrow I pre order it ps4

Not the Mario music🤣🤣
Wait I dont get it can someone please explain
I definitely don't get it! Pls someone explain?
SPOILERS BELOW. (Explaining why this ending exists)
Maotelus is still corrupted.
Not buying laphicet would do this
In his right mind, he wouldn't, but we all know what a Seraph turned dragon behaves like.
That was so stupid and pointless. Why did Namco even allocate money and time for this scene?
if you finished the game or even just reached the 2nd battle of glaivend you'll understand why this bad ending makes sense...its in jrpg culture to put bad endings on their games...besides you can just reload from where you saved it before getting the bad ending...also rpg players are either completionists or speed runners...the fastest ending would be doing this ending...not the best to do but an ending is an ending...
Still pointless. I also thought it was weird Heldarf just wanders all over the map, preventing you from accessing certain areas too early. -.-
Jonét Harry well what's the point of accessing certain areas too early too? its not like the game is open world. heldalf appearing and strong malevolence hindering further exploration is a cooler way of saying "its too early to be here" instead of just not being able to acces the map period. a lot of rpg games just wont let you access the area if the story doenst permit you yet but zestiria made a cool reason why you cant or shouldnt access certain areas yet...also the bad ending is a punishment in trying to go too far ahead without following the story hence no trophy. i dont think its pointless...in a game where it isnt open world this was a bright idea IMHO...you have your opinions this is IMHO.
Jonét Harry Well maybe you should go work at Namco and teach them how to make games since you're such an expert.
It just seems pointless.
...how is this a fuck up again?
6:24 *SHLORP*
Good think I get into tales series and symphonia was my first , shame of you by starting with zestiria
