    Glad you finally got it to work! I used this same method with regular PLA to cast a 1:1 scale terminator skull in multiple parts from scrap aluminium (you can see it on my channel). All of my equipment is much less professional than yours, everything is homemade, burnout kiln, vacuum table, even the flasks. I had a few failures along the way too, but I'm sure your results will continue to improve. I can't see anything wrong with your method, the only things I do differently is I drop the temperature of the flask to around 300°C before pouring and I don't attach all the extra vent channels you have, just a single 5mm sprue.

      Hey Andy! I’ve watched a lot of your videos before. I saw the terminator skull you made recently and was very impressed. I also really enjoyed the video you made about augers, prettier sure I left a comment on that video about how you could also cast an auger! I’m hoping that my results do continue to improve however I think what I need to work most on is post processing. I plan on making a functioning 2 stroke engine with my setup and need some higher precision parts than what I am currently producing. I don’t have a lathe so everything I do is by hand which is a bit tricky. I love your work and it makes my day to see you watching my videos!Thank you so much for watching, it means a lot!

      @@Levi_Sheridan Thanks for the kind words! Yes, I saw your comment, but didn't actually put 2 and 2 together until just now! I just found your videos browsing through TH-cam.
      Building a 2-stroke? That's pretty ambitious! You're probably aware of the channel '2STROKE STUFFING'? Lots of great inspiration there and he built a whole crankcase with lost PLA casting (lots of failures along the way too!) Live and learn! 😉

      @@AndysMachines hey again! Yep, I want to build a two stroke. I have seen 2stoke stuffing before, it’s a great channel and definitely a great resource. I just ordered some castable resin which I hope will allow me to make parts that won’t need much post processing to operate. I want to cast the entire engine except for pins and screws so it’ll definitely be a big challenge. I have a new series coming out I think you’ll enjoy. I’m building an engine test stand for another project unrelated to casting. I’m incorporating load cells, tachometers, and hopefully electronic fuel level sensor. The test stand can throw up to 21 inch props and is adjustable so it can fit both electric and ICE engines. Thanks again for watching!

    Great video Levi and music especially! Can you please tell what tape did you use? And please share your thoughts if you have noticed a much difference when using PLA and Wax filament. Wish you success and please continue shooting your videos

    • @Levi_Sheridan
      @Levi_Sheridan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use standard blue painters tape to cover the flask when pouring the investment. The poly cast i used is actually more similar to PLA than to other wax filaments. I have definitely had more success with poly cast but I have little experience with PLA and have seen some great results from other people. Sorry I can’t provide more insight but I don’t want to pretend like I have experience in an area I do not. Thanks for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed the music too!

    When you pour the metal in to the flask should the position of the casting machine be on investment table or casting chamber ?

    • @Levi_Sheridan
      @Levi_Sheridan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should be set to casting chamber.
