I haven't even heard 1 arguable modern classic Hip Hop album In at least 20 *years* If not longer. Maybe I'd consider GKMC - Kendrick Lamar , or MBDTF -Kanye West but what else Is there. Rap albums and any sense of progress In the art-form truly fell off after the 90's imo. Honestly the culture sold Itself out for mainstream sales and outside validation. Once that watering down process starts It's never gonna be as potent and authentic as It once was for any creative movement. Hate to say It but we need to let the genre die , these fake rappers today are destroying not just the Idea of what Hip Hop stands for , but they're messing It up for ALL of Black culture.
Here's another fun fact: Dr. J and Howard Stern both went to Roosevelt High School which is the same high school Eddie Murphy would go to. idk if they overlapped years though.
Dr. J is 71 and Stern is 67. So unless Stern entered HS a year earlier than usual and/or Dr. J. left HS later, they likely missed each other by one year. And both of them were long gone before Eddie (59) got there.

Boroughs being the regional city area, Brooklyn Queens Manhattan Staten Island and the Bronx. It is common for county city based new yorkers to associate long island with the counties not associated with a Borough title. basically everything east of Queens is associated with the term long island, although its false, as long island includes borough brooklyn and queens. In fact the dis-association is often so strong that many new yorkers think of long island as an island unto itself separated from brookyln and queens by a body of water when its not. This is all due to new yorks distant past and how its people were primarily urban rooted, and only truly settled in the then new suburbs after wwII when real estate mogul Bob Levitt created vast affordable housing for returning gi's. two very different worlds and newly form classes of people. that wanted to distance themselves from one another. as such mentally the people separated themselves to the point of reconstructing the very lands traveled in their subconscious. To this day, people find it strange that the college Long island university is in Brooklyn.
@@jazo85 actually in an interview eddie speaks of growing up in brooklyn and the particular street address, i looked it up in google maps. so clearly they lived in two locations. over time. not to mention, he lived in my moms prior old address in roosevelt li. which was quite a few miles away from the roosevelt mall. but right off the cross island expressway.
