Ngl, i still remember that scene from Red Ash event to this day. Red Hood saying she “needs” to leave, and younger Snow White quickly going through the 5 stages of grief towards her. It’s probably the only scene in the whole game that actively made me cry. The rest is just depresso espresso, as usual.
The artists and writers were both on fire for those scenes.
For real Smol White's desperate pleas for Red Ash to stay, declaration of hatred in a fit of rage and then the anguished cries in the first half of the story really got to me, I thought Over Zone was depressing but this particular scene one-upped it
Lonely Lovely Cat and the Meow Meow Paradise sidestory will stab you in the soul if you've ever had a cat.

Definitely more than boobs and guns, some of the best writing I’ve seen in a game. Very excited about their first entry in the AAA mainstream called Stellar Blade.
I’ll try my best to give context; Red Hood’s team was like family, she got along so well with everyone to the point where her presence individually influenced what type of people they’d become in the future.
But because she was “infected” she kept on holding onto the very likely possibility she was going to die. Her clock was ticking and she didn’t want to be a burden to her team so she abandoned them to “die alone” but her team wanted to stick by her to the very end because of this conflict it was a very forced abrupt and painful exit especially for her best friend Snow White who didn’t take it very well.
When this song played, she was reminiscing all the good times with her team and the fact that they always had her back no matter what. She had this heavy feeling of guilt for abandoning them the way she did.
In the end she decided to go back to them because they deserved a proper and happy farewell. In the process she also saved her team from defeat and lifted their spirits in one last big battle before both sides coming to terms with eachother as red hood leaves again but in a positive light.
You have NO idea how many times I cried with this song.
I used to play it while taking a shower and then seat and cry. It was a really sad but memorable time that made me grew up more... I will forever love Nikke for not only bringing me fun, but also supporting me with stories and music nurturing my soul.

This song is basically what was going through Red Hood’s mind after she left her squad, the goddess squad, after a failed mission to retrieve a new Nikke for their squad resulted in that Nikke becoming fully corrupted and attacking them. Throughout Red Ash, Red Hood herself had been corrupted (basically her mind was slowly being taken over by their enemies, the Raptures). She knew that mission was going to be her last, since she wasn’t sure how much longer she could resist the corruption before it took over. Just before leaving, her best friend Snow White (the little one with the white hair Red Hood had in a headlock) got extremely upset with her because Red Hood had promised her that she’d stay with them until it was time for them to pull the trigger on her (there was no cure for corruption, only one way out). But in the end she left anyway, not wanting her friends and teammates to see her succumb to the corruption. A while after, alone in a building and fading in and out of consciousness, she regrets leaving them the way she did while this song plays. It’s also when she finally musters up the courage, strength and resolve to join her teammates one last time against the Nikke who got corrupted before she could join their team in that failed mission, which was when “The Red Hood” plays. If I remember right, this song also plays one last time after she has a proper farewell with all of her friends, leaving before she can succumb once again. There’s more story after that, but this is the relevant parts.
Also funny you mention that it sounds old, as one of Red Hood’s favorite things is old music, especially since one of her prized possessions was a cassette player she always carried with her. That mic may have been completely intentional to make it sound older.

You should check out "Hero" from Nikke.
Without spoilers, it plays during a certain character's "call to arms" moment. Super powerful and there's an associated cinematic to watch if you want.

We joined for the PLOT and stayed for the depression. The story is amazing but dayumn this game has a lot of good and sad story.

funfact: the character Red Hood, the red-haired one, really liked old nostalgia stuffs such as listening old music using an old-style cassette player. so if the sound quality is like coming from older generation or sth, i think the composer did it intentionally.
When that part plays, Red Hood slumped down and crying out... My heart sank

The only way to collect this song in game was by loging on the last day of the event, which, in my opinion, is a perfect ending.
I wish that they could let us play this event one more time ,this could be perfect if he is feeling the urge of coming into the game to go through the story and also for collecting these amazing songs.
fun fact: in-game you get this song at the very end of the 1st Anniversary event. it was played at emotional part of the event lore once but my gad i need that full version and thankfully Cosmo released it first on youtube before we can get in-game.
The audio quality was probably intentional owing to Red Hood's Affinity for older low fidelity media.
Yeah the stigma that Nikke is "just fan service and nothing else" really makes me sad cuz it's an actually fun game with really good story, music, voice acting, a very welcoming community and a dev team that genuinely listens to it's players feedback, but i cannot blame anyone for thinking that way since i thought the same at first, i imagined that it was going to be just another low quality gacha game cash grab, so i downloaded Nikke day 1 to have a laugh at it and to have a first row seat at a train crash, and to my surprise i only needed to finish the tutorial to realize that it wasn't a train crash, it was an emotional roller coaster and it has been my main gacha since then dethroning Genshin.
I think it would be good to shift a little from the high octane action packed Nikke music to the more calm and emotional ones, then i would like to recommend "Goodbye for now" or "Lovely lonely cat".
I kept telling my coworkers like "dude,this game is so fucking awesome!" and they where like "oh really?..does the game support top-ups or purchasing like Call of Duty Mobile?*....and i was like "WTF man!!!"
Yeah..great game belongs only to those with ppl with fine taste about gaming experience.
Definitely.. Im so glad I found Nikke. I haven't played such a great game in a while, especially being on mobile then branching to PC.

Also, yes Nikke is a beautiful game. It does have fan service. The beautiful girls is a big part of it. When you play it though, and you go through the story... It's so much deeper and incredible.
Im not ashemed to admit that i cried more than just a bit when i fully listened to it the first time after reading the story.

Would you mind reacting to ΩΩParts by Camellia? It was made for the grand finals of the World Cup of the most popular rhythm game in the world (Osu) and was designed as a map to break a tie if it got to it and so it has a ton of different genres to test different skills in the game.
It actually got played in the grand finals in the match of USA vs. Germany. It was hype af.
Everyone says they start playing for the fanservice and stay for the story. But i think thats alright if people underestimate the game, its not like the game is hurting in popularity, being in top 5 revenue every month for gacha games since the release in november 2022.

In short, the two characters that are central to the song, the one saying farewell and the one being left behind are the red haired one and the small one with the silver hair. Long story short, the red haired one is on the verge of dying by losing herself to a sort of berserk state that would make her attack her friends, including the silver haired one, so she decided to leave and try to end things on her own terms. The separation is because the silver haired one took it as an abandonment on the part of her best friend and the pain that the event carries.
If you are remotely interested in the story, at least what pertains to this particular song, I recommend watching some video compilations of the Red Ash event and if curious as to the aftermath, go for Overzone, which is the continuation, even if it was released before this one. The latter one, I feel, is much harsher in how it hits. It felt more brutal to me. That's some top notch storytelling that a lot of people missed out on thinking that Nikke is just tits and ass while it deals with trauma, psychological issues, how one deals with them and touches on other things, included how one lets go of a pet that is dying. Again, it's not just tits and ass.
A lot of game which has great story and music are lewd games or straight up erotic games, so I learnt try to not judge book by its cover.
Hope you can react to Satellite from Nikke Over Zone event too, for me it is even better than Red Ash event.
Finally, someone who choose Overzone than Red Ash. And yes, it's the same for me. I mean, I still like Red Ash, but Overzone is still better, especially with Dorothy & Pinne's relationship, and how Dorothy fall from her grace (Especially when she looked at that Ark advertisement board). It's simple, but powerful thing.
Yeah, in the same vein Fate/Stay Night is an amazing story with brilliant writing (and music), which wouldn't exist if it didn't release as an erotic Visual Novel

Essentially what happened was The Goddess Squad was an infamous squad known as the Goddesses Of Victory. They were the first team of these cyborgs essentially called Nikke. Noted as the Grimms models named after Fairy Tales. Red Hood (Red Riding Hood), Scarlet (The Story of Janghwa and Hongryeon), Snow White (Self Explanatory), Rapunzel (Self Explanatory) Liliweiss (I forgot what she came from), and Dorothy (Wizard of Oz).
We follow the story of Red Hood (girl with the red hair) and essentially the first war of the raptures. I can’t go into what they are for plot reasons but they were killing humans on the surface. So this group and the Legendary Commander were the main force fighting then. In this event Red Hood was corrupted. Basically for a nikke that means death. And after trying to find a way to cure it instead she decided to leave the squad on her lonesome.
And while corrupted she kept constantly falling asleep with time passing etc. and she started to regret her choice of leaving the squad. Which is when she travels back to the squad while they are fighting a grimms model that was supposed to join the Goddess Squad but got corrected before completion. Named Cinderella. Which is where we get the Red Ash song where she talks about how its her final battle. Because afterwards the corruption would kill her.
Well obviously they beat cinderella and red hood gives her final goodbyes. I can’t say any further of what happens to her as that is also Plot in the story. But if you’re dying to know scroll down and I’ll say.

So she merged with a nikke named rapi. Which is one of the main characters in the main game. And can constantly swap between the two. Which is still unexplained even in the most recent released chapter.
Try listening to Lonely Lovely Cat next. This song and the Nya Nya Paradise event made me remembered of my dead cat and it destroyed me
3:08 nah, Red Hood isn’t the type of character to stay and dwell on her thoughts. All of her regrets in her last days only pushed her forward to fix things before she finally died, and boy did she. Saving her entire squad from a twisted mirror of her own story, she being a veteran of Goddess Squad, corrupted by the enemy and leaving to save her teammates the pain of putting her down, with the “mirror” having meant to be the newest member of the squad only to be taken before she was even activated and corrupted to kill Goddess Squad, and then fixing all the hurt she created in her team with her abrupt resignation and “abandonment” of them to, well, commit suicide in her hometown by actually leaving the team on a high note. Also, Red Hood absolutely adores classic and retro things (an amusing contrast to her incredibly mature outlook on life and the future) and uses an ancient cassette player for all her music, which is in Our Hometown, a song that she regularly plays in game on that same cassette player.
6:50 So what's interesting about the analysis you made with the vocals giving a sort of dated feel is that Red Hood is known for liking old-timey music and listens to it on an old cassette player. There is a chance that there was some stylistic decisions made in not making the sound quality 'too high end'

Yeah, that's kinda the way most people came to the game, me included - join to laugh at fanservice for a few hours, and then suddenly you get hit by Cosmo's ost (ENCOUNTER is impossible not to vibe to), and then the story comes in...
You basically pay no attention to any fanservice after like two hours of playing, you just have fun. And them bam, a whole year has passed, who would've thought, huh
Can't say that marketing strategy doesn't work, conidering that nikke holds stable top5 monthly income among gacha games, right next to FGO, Genshin and Honkai
But that kinda ruins the perception of the game in masses 🥲
