I got mine in 2018 black friday sale for 150€. A real bargain at the time. Sounds good for it's size. But for me it's bluetooth use only. Can't DJ with this or use it as a monitor because when using the AUX Input it has a delay that makes beatmixing go wrong. Same as other JBL&H/K Speakers that it's plaguing, which is a shame as they would be good soundwise. The DSP is seamingly producing the delay and it's in the hardware design so no Firmware updates so far has done any fixing for that issue. If you want to have a travel size, hotel room practise speaker I suggest getting a Tribit Stormbox or Anker Soundcore Motion+. These don't have any lag from the AUX input and also are in a very affordable price range especially when on sale. Test the AUX input lag in your speaker with beatmatcing tracks and return with a comment with your results.
As i said, the speaker is still good in bluetooth use and I do use mine quite often when going out with the kids.

You're completely right. I did use for DJing before the review but beatmatches in the headphones and listened on the speaker post mix. The lag is extremely annoying. Luckily I dont DJ on this speaker and it is strictly for using my phone on. The speaker is still class and the quality holds up but for DJing on, not practical. Ugh I just ordered one yesterday and was planning to use it as a TV speaker as well, but if there's noticeable input delay when using the AUX... I think I'll cancel it and get something else.

Got 2 and they were brilliant and I ordered the boombox to pair up. 2 JbL extreme 2 plus boombox. It should be great fun for my neighbours

Just got one on sale at £199, wouldn't pay top price that's for sure. Good speaker, good bass 😁 and clean highs. Close to a half decent studio monitor in terms of sound quality 😉

My son is looking for a speaker for his Uni room to help with his music production course. He wants a speaker that will help him hear all of the sounds he’s creating. Would this one work for him?
He should get some studio monitors, like KRK rokits or pioneer DJ speakers.

Yo I have the xtreme 1 should I upgrade to xtreme 2 I’m not if I should or not because I have heard that the xtreme 1 gets a bit louder but the xtreme 2 have better bass and better quality
The xtreme 2 has a wider frequency range and sounds cleaner, specially with the bass. It's less "boomy" than the Xtreme 1 but maybe a bit softer with overall volume
I havent listened to the 1 but alls I can say is thay the 2 is amazing. Havent had a single issue with it to this day. Absooute beast!

pfff, still stuck between the extreme2, boombox2 and the party box 100. note that here in mauritius, the BB2 and PB2 has the same price i.e 2x the price of the extreme2
I have the party box 100 and Xtreme 2 I used the Xtreme 2 more cause it's enough for me but I us d the PB 100 when it's a party or big bbq I'm having just depends on the occasion for me.
@@Raiders_1986 will be mainly for some music play at home, during training and when going out. seems that the party 100 cannot handle so much without ac in.
@@yan5362 the partybox 100 is the powerfullest jbl Bluetooth speaker for a good price. You need to go for the partybox 100 you won't regret it.

Bought one for 150$ I love JBL product I have Party Box 100 and Xtreme 2. I used the Xtreme 2 more it's easy to carry and waterproof it's like the Gopro of speakers I even take it on hikes , kayaking we're the party box is to heavy .... I used the party box more for parties or family bbq we're I don't have to carry it much ....

Don’t buy a turtlebox. They are junk. They have zero bass output and they are not that loud. I went with this JBL model and it’s much better.
It is, this is one of the best speakers on the market for the price.
Update: since then I returned the JBL and got a Soundboks 2. It’s not as portable but makes the JBL sound like a small transistor radio.

I have tried to link my jbl charge 3 with my ddj400 (3.5mm port on charge3), but there are some issues when in low volume part of the song, the speaker is completely out, no sound. So would you recommend buying an xtreme2 for dj at home?thanks!
Nope, don't buy one for DJing. There is a slight sound lad between the DJ decks and the speaker. Look at some studio monitors or general speakers instead, this speaker is an excellent bluetooth speaker and the quality is amazing but it doesn't quite work for DJing as an only speaker.

three months after ownership a midrange speaker separated from the cone, I had to glue it and it did not hold. This is a defect Harmon Kardin refuses to take ownership of. I am buying the new sony speaker and will never buy another JBL speaker again

I didn't even know they had an app. I use mine just through bluetooth exclusively. I'm sure everything will be updated however. Best checking some reviews in your app store.
This speaker is the most overpriced peace of crap I’ve ever purchased. The Flip 5 audio quality is only about 15% lower. You can get much better speakers for the $350 pricetag. What a joke.
