Sam Heughan: 'I've fallen in love with Scotland again and its produce' | Scran Throwback

On this episode of Scran I'm delighted to be joined by Outlander star Sam Heughan.
On this episode Sam chats about what inspired him to release this whisky, why he chose a blend over a single malt and when fans in the UK can buy a bottle.
Sam also discusses his favourite drams as well as some favourite foods...as well as some not-so-favourite foodie moments.
In 2019 Sam realised his dream of release his own whisky, The Sassenach.

I had a very interesting dream last night with Sam Heughan. I’ve never dreamt with Sam before so it’s all the more intriguing and odd. I dreamt that Sam was working a few shifts at a very fancy Scottish pub/restaurant in the South Street sea port in lower Manhattan. The restaurant was known for its oysters and bar in general. The South St seaport is a historical area in Manhattan and still has its old cobblestone roads in some spots. Inside the pub was Sam looking very handsome and fashionable as usual. He was sitting next to a very beautiful bar and register, welcoming people in as they were seated. The restaurant had a lot of old wood beams and wood floors, lots of atmospheric lighting and candles. My mother and I walked in and I spotted him sitting at the front of the restaurant. I was very surprised to see him. Unfortunately the restaurant was very busy and didn’t have any tables. Sam apologized that there weren’t any seats left and gave us a bottle of wine (or maybe it was whiskey) for the inconvenience. Then we left the restaurant and came back at a later time when it was less busy and Sam was there again in a different outfit, a sort of mustard colored turtleneck sweater, very nice dress pants and shoes. He was happy to see us again and we were seated quickly. I later saw him leaving with a black duffle bag because he was heading to the gym when his shift ended! That was the dream. I wonder if he has plans to open a restaurant.
