John Duffey and the original Seldom Scene have the sweetest version of this. I was lucky to have spent many nights at the Birchmere listening and watching them perform this.
A beautiful rendition of a song written by the great Herb Pederson who first recorded on a solo project and then as a member of the Desert Rose Band. It serves as a good illustration of the cross over between Irish traditional and Country.
cette chanson me touche aussi enormement, ca me rappelle mon enfance et ma bonne mere qui chantait cette belle chanson tout en faisant des bonnes beignes. Merci pour partager cette chanson sur You tube...
I "discovered" this group right after they broke up. Went back and devoured all their videos(can't find CD's} This is such a great video. Such an incredibly talented family!
Great job beautiful Katie... love you all so much And Stephen you always plays the best smoothest fiddle ever And of course to your other beautiful sister Paige Im Always in love with that Cajun girl on the bass guitar
Fabulous blend!! YAY!!! Hurray!!!! ::::::APPLAUSE!!::::::What a JOY to hear and so glad to see y'all!!! :-) Such fresh faces...so full of spiritual poise & grace. We still have our "Lucky Steve" harmonica and could never forget such a God-given talented musical family. :-) (The Von Trapps are rolling over....!!) B. H.
I have liked every rendition I have heard over the years and especially this one....but my favorite is one I heard for the first time recently on Herb Pedersen's 1976 album South West....it's on YT if you haven't it it before ...
I’ve had that album since it first came out and it still remains one of my all time favorites. The Hey Boys was just awesome. Such a beautiful clear voice. I wish he had become more well known. Saw him in John Denver’s band one time.
Herb Pederson song this is rather good with its bad ass cajun Celtic fiddle playing which add another layer finishing with the blood harmony. ..Greetings from Dublin Ireland. ..
I think this is a beautiful song..I like it better when a female sings it,It adds beauty to the song.I have a friend from Virginia (Reagan Boggs) which also done a beautiful version of this song on her CD.,,,but back to your version L'Angelus...You've done it beautifully. You do have a beautiful voice and smile...two thumbs up, x (times) 2
That's the best version of Wait a Minute I've ever heard!!! And I've heard lots of versions of this song and I even met the guys from the Seldom Scene. I know they didn't write it. The first version I heard was by Johnny Rivers.
love this song - i think you are tied with old herb on this song. love your playing of the music. so much better than others who try to record this song. thank you for the good music.
No, it was written by Herb Pederson in 1972, He sent it to John Duffey of Seldom Scene, and they recorded it. In the meantime Pederson recorded it on his album Southwest. Pederson says as much at a concert where he and Chris Hillman play it. YOU should look it up.
Herb Pedersen of the Dillards and Desert Rose, and many recordings wrote this tune. You can see his version of it on my video with Herb Pedersen and the Grateful Dudes.
@shenvalley25 John Starling originally sang it with the Scene... but either way, Seldom Scene rocked it in my book! It's too bad that there aren't more bands around like the Seldom Scene. They're my favorite bluegrass band.
great vid - wish you had your camera in Dublin last week, these guys were simply sensational. They had a fourth member though, their younger brother Johnny I think, on drums, and it made all the difference.
I cannot listen to this without getting tears in my eyes. Just beautiful ❤

Where Bluegrass goes home to visit our cousins. Well done.

It's incredible to hear this Cajun group do a bluegrass tune by the Seldom Scene, one of my favorite bands !!
Imagine how great this version would be with a banjo and a mandolin!!!

Interesting, - the similarities between Irish music and Cajun/country. This group represents America beautifully. They make me proud.
Totally agree with almost all, except this song came from the world of American Bluegrass, rather than Cajun.
