    you should take the nozzle off the hose, the resistance it's causing will reduce the life of the pump.

    Can you add watering wand attachments to the end? Or will it put too much pressure on the motor and wreck it?

    QUESTION regarding hose type: Have you ever tried using one of those Expandable Garden Hoses with these pumps? I'm getting tired of getting kinks in my typical garden hoses and was thinking about using the Expandable Garden Hoses instead...but I'm not sure if those work well for the lower water pressure from these utility pumps. Any insight would be much appreciated.

    Hi are you still happy with this pump?
    I live in south SD. I love my rain barrels but I do not like to water my plants with the bucket. I love your video and I can use one of this submersible pump in Escondido.

      @Mercedes Iglesias-Paul sure, but have to admit I still use buckets a lot!

      Mercedes Iglesias-Paul there’s ways to set up rain barrel systems to get good pressure easily water plants with out any pump needed. I’ve seen videos here on you tube.

    You can't use it with a drip system?

    so this pump will lift the water from the bottom of the barrel? I've been looking for something to do this instead of buckets.

      @Charles Schiller absolutely. That is exactly what I use this pump for, and it works great.

    I want to run a pump in my rain tote attached to some soaker hose but I can't figure out what size pump I should use? I have "rain barrel" soaker hose (it runs, ideally, at a lower pressure...15-20psi...)

    can you stop the water flow with out messing up the pump

      @BEAR GREEN... I've had kinked hoses and it didn't die, I seemed like it fed the water back out, but not sure. That said, that was pretty short term...

    • @caseG80

      BEAR GREEN it’s not good for the motor they make other pumps with a switch that will build pressure then turn off until needed.

    can it completely drain the barrel?

    • @weejohnbb
      @weejohnbb 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It'll leave about 1/2" to 3/4" of dregs.

    would I be able to attach the automatic timer that waters the plants automatically?

    • @caseG80
      @caseG80 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No you would need a different style pump that has a switch and is made to build pressure and turn off until either a trigger or solenoid is opened

    • @weejohnbb
      @weejohnbb 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can. Once your set up is complete just use a Christmas light timer for the pump power cord. Just be sure to check the level now and then so the pump doesn't run dry.

    Does the pump need to sit partially submerged? Or can you just drop it to the bottom of a bucket?

    • @javatestcase
      @javatestcase  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Robbie Boyhan fully submerged
