She definitely takes after her dad. The same optimism and compassion
That glimmer in John' s eyes and warm smile when Melissa mentions that she's Harry's daughter, that's a legend acting right there, a true actor at his craft bringing a small, subtle nuance to his character for the 2020's, but also you know he's thinking of Harry Anderson his friend an collaborator, and what a special show the original Night Court means to a lot of people. And not having a lot of the original cast with us anymore makes it all that much more special to see him and Marsha Warfield in this revival/continuation of one of my favorite comedies of all time. I was there as a kid watching the premiere as a 9 yr old kid laughing...and I was hooked. Thanks to everyone for making us be able to laugh again. ❤
Abracadabra Stone, thats so freakin fitting for Harrys Daughter
It's weird to see a sequel to something now that has this much respect for what went before in spirit and story.
I love when Abbey asks if Sarah is Dan’s wife and he simply says “She was.” There’s so much packed into those two simple words. A whole story, a whole lifetime of joy and sadness. Dan obviously loved her very much, and while he still misses her, he’s moved on. But as we find out later in the season, not so much that he’s ready to jump back in the saddle just yet.
....this made me cry. I loved seeing Dan again. I miss Harry. The original Night Court was amazing.
It would have been great to see a picture of the old cast together in the show. Or even have 1 of harry with his daughter in her office.
@@hankhill2889 Sane as they do with many TV shows and movies. They CGI his face on the person's body of the same build.
would have been nice , the only picture we saw in Harry's office was Mel Torme
In the watching this clip, I am only just discovering that a new night court series exists. Does it also cameo the old bailiffs like Richard Moll?
@@keithtorgersen9664 Richard disliked working on night court back in the day. He hasn't shown any interest in playing a cameo in the new series.
Now that he's a defense attorney ... could we see Dan Fielding on Law & Order ?
Lol to see Fielding strutting around like he’s Jack McCoy…
Hell, to see him take the job seriously is something new too.
I'm enjoy this season so far. My fave part of the season is Clarence the Armadillo.
Mine was when Abby opened up about her struggles with alcoholism and worrying that she was failing her dad-choking up a bit as she did so; leave it to Dan to set her straight. For THAT matter, ANY Abby/Dan interaction was gold.
R.I.P. SELMA, FLORENCE, HARRY,CHRISTINE,MAC
@DukeHalliday-cv4fx the actress who played Billie Newman--Ellen Foley--is still alive.
@@tamaraclawYou probably also know that Ellen Foley co-sang Paradise By the Dashboard Light with Meat Loaf on his Bat Out Of Hell album.
This is a sweet 🎂 memory reference to Harry Stone
Dan became sort of a surrogate father figure for Abby
It's Oct 29 2023 today.
Richard Moll went back to his home planet yesterday.
We'll not see his like again. Fry free, you wonderfully weird man.
He is reunited with Harry, Christine, Florence, Selma and Mac now.
I am a great enthusiastic fan of the original Night Court! Funny as HELL!!! I liked that kind of zany, sometimes crass humor!!! I just found out this new wave version exists!!!
Life is à neverending wheel.
I really want to watch more episodes.
I was young when night court aired way back when but I remember watching it. Its a bummer that many of the og cast has passed but im glad John is there to tie it together. Speaking of John, I just him do the Riker maneuver (star trek) and damn near busted a gut. Im quite tall as well, I get it
I hope Abby gets to mention her father who really was a fan of Mel Tormé and he had a talent for a hobby and interest in doing magic tricks as also a magician in a future episode this coming second season starts next year or later during a future season of the whole revival series so let’s get this show be a huge success with more high ratings.
Well, she's mentioned that he'd had an interest in magic, but she has yet to mention Harry's being a Mel Tormé fan
Some other guest appearance that would be pretty epic would be Bob Wheeler and his family or even Yakov
It's great seeing you again, Dan 🙂
That was very nice. Loved it.
Bernadette as a judge. 😂😂😂 criminals are in trouble
great show was worried but loved it can't wait until it returns
Hope They Bring Back Bull & Explain about Christina & Mack
Judging from past interviews, I really doubt that Richard Moll would ever make another appearance as Bull.
Richard Moll was asked to come back, but he said he's moved on and has no desire to reprise his role as Bull.
unfortunately that's not going to happen... Richard Moll passed away.
Why wasn't the pilot dedicated to the memories of Harry Anderson, Markie Post, Charles Robinson, and especially Reinhold Weege?
I can handle everything except for the fact Abby isnt Harry and Christine's daughter.😢
@@glambertaviciier84 Plus Christine was also tragically married to a cop for a while before a bitter divorce. You positive she moved on with Dan? Seems a bit unlikely.
Harry 😭😭
I love how he said it! It was like the old days all over again.
The apartment set looks a lot like Fraser set!
How did she not know her real name. She would have needed her birth certificate for college application, drivers license, etc
I assume it went something like "Fine already, but we're putting Abby on the paper work or she won't be able to spell her own name until she's 10!"
Hot tea for Mary hey you can make that at home I'll get you the recipe 😅 Dan's still miserable no matter where he works
I’d love to see Bull make a guest appearance, but he appears in a monster, full body suit, and it’s not apparent it’s him until someone recognizes his voice 😂
Leave the writing, to the professionals - Please!
"Masked Singer" theme?? Give me a break🙃🤣
@@anotheryoutubeaccount9852 actually I was referencing how the actor, Richard Moll, was in a monster movie right before the pilot of Night Court. That’s why his head is shaved; it became so popular that it became a requirement that he stayed bald during the show’s run. I was hoping it could be a nod for people in the know…and plus, it seemed like the kind of goofy thing Bull would do in my opinion 😂
@@darkcloudXIV "natural causes" was what I heard. May just be assumed. He was 80.
Perfect spin off 👍🏼
I haven't had the chance to catch the new. I loved the old series
You know what really killed the sequel series. Gertie... a bailiff is not supposed to be big fat and jolly. The bailiff is supposed to be like bullshannon or Roz.
Redeemed yourself. That makes the show great.
I have major ambivalence, about this reboot.
It seems sweet, and determined to honor the old show. But one thing the original was pretty known for, was wacky humor. Some hilarious, crazy stuff went on, and I think the revival could lean a little more into that.
Is there going to be a season 2??
I miss The Big Bang Theory so much I think I’m gonna have to start watching this now.
Funny how things come full circle... Night Court was great in 1984... It's great even now...
Anyone seen (Blind Date ) with Bruce Willis and John Larroquette. Good Stuff
I 👍 it!
How is Harry’s daughter so short?
my one regret about the show was that i wish Harry was there to watch his daughters first day as judge, but i would like to think that the actors from the original show that died are looking down and smiling
RIP BULL
I loved the original series so I tried this one. After a few episodes I stopped watching, in part because the writers could not seem to move beyond the memory of Judge Stone. Paying tribute to the man in the opening episode is one thing. But idolizing him and making him a centerpiece is quite another
Is that Bernadette from TBBT ?
Hope you get to see it i don't think it's coming back,😆😆😆😆
The orignal was bril! and for once, the reboot was good too!. Nuff said!. 🙂
The Dan Fielding the Sexual T Rex
Isn’t that lady from Murphy Brown?
Its just not the same without Bull, Mack, Marky, Harry etc...
To Abby, Could you when the time comes place the funerals of the cast on the internet. TH-cam.
If this girl woulda been half as good as Harry the show woulda continued into a total legacy
Does Dan live in Frazier Cranes apartment? It looks like the same set.
1:55 The original Night Court had the record tallest cast. You can see that here, though admittedly Melissa Rauch is short.
Why can't tv shows that ended stay ended, I'll bet this won't last a season or 2
That's Corky Sherwood from Murphy Brown
The old Night Court was just like this, but funny.
Faith Ford is the perfect choice to be Abby's mother.
Sorry about your loss with bull and Harry
Is this a new series or jusg a special edition?
Night Court was one of those TV shows my now ex wife made time for.
That was a lifetime ago.
I want to know Sara(h)'s story. How in the world did she tame Dan Fielding!?
He had a sweet part tucked deep inside and every once in a while he let it show. Maybe Sarah was the one person he could be vulnerable to
Kinda funny judge Harry Stone was so tall but had such a short daughter. He was 6’4. She is only 4’11
My father is 6'2". My brother is 6'3". My son is 6'1".
I'm 4'5". It's not wholly improbable.
How did it happen. Mom on night court 😮. Me to.
Dan Dan Fielding is Still Alive??? Whoa.
Faith Ford.....STILL got it.
Remeber her from Murphy Brown
Didn't even know NBC had brought out a sequel to Night Court, and honestly I was rather confused. I saw the thumbnail and title in my recommendations and thought, "hey cool, i can introduce my daughter to some good old-fashioned Night Court antics." Yeah, well, nope. Not a single shot of Harry himself in here. Going by the title, that was what I'd expected: to *see* Harry Stone, not to see people remembering him. Might wanna work on that title there, NBC. Kinda misleading. Laters ;)
When Abby tells story she apparently had a drinking problem (if Im understand her correctly), dont you need to be voted to be a judge (not hired)?
Some judges are appointed , usually to fill an unexpected vacancy.
Taped.
The show started in the 80s and she didn't mention the 80's.
Night Court this is not , nice effort but only Dan returned & he was not the perverted pig we all knew & loved , but Harry's daughter was cute , no Mac or Christine God rest their souls , No Bull & no Roz
Did I miss it or did they totally not mention Bull and Christine??????? 😮.
It's weird to hear Melissa Rauchs real voice.
Lose the beard Dan, you are more handsome without it!
BULL RIP
I have watch the show and I cant get into it... Does not grab me like the old show
You're not alone. Initial ratings were strong, but it's obvious the show has no future.
I’m terribly sorry, but this never should have been done. Some things are better left alone.
Weegee is remembered
Harry Stone and Markie Post are very well missed.
Harry, Mac, Bull, Christine, Selma, and Florence are all dead. I liked Bernadatte in TBBT. But, bringing this one back when only two of the main cast are left is pretty dumb. Hell, there are more members of Star Trek lift alive than there are in this.
I want it to be successful. I loved NightCourt!
But I simply believe Hollywood in general and nbc in particular will screw it up.
I will wait till the season or maybe even the series is complete and check out the reviews from sources I actually trust.
If this means an otherwise worthy show will not gain enough traction to make it to season two, so be it.
I've been disappointed by as well as spat upon by Hollywood too many times. They brought it on themselves.
Any product from Hollywood..., don't trust and verify.
No Harry, no Bull, no Reinhold Weege...not for me. Hope the new generation is enjoying it tho.
Another example of Hollywood destroying a good series by bringing it back 30 years after it died.
@@Drunkandorstonedontheinternet are u serious. Hollywood feels the need to redo classic due to lack of creativity these days.
@@SKS8080 Wrong. Hollywood always did that. You are just now getting old enough to realize it. Scarface, the Fly, and Little shop of Horrors from the 80's were remakes. Wizard of Oz was a remake and a book before that. Catch up.
that was rehash tripe with canned laughter. I'm glad I stopped watching commercial television. Nostalgia is for suckers.
should have been a son not a daughter
and this show is already starting to fail, i knew it would. night court was about the raunchy humour, and that would never fly in this day and age,
It also had a great ensemble cast that just clicked. They knew how to replace a character if needed and have them fill the spot perfectly while being a very different character. I miss the original series so much. 🥺
Today has much more raunchy sitcoms. This line is so ignorant.
Nope
sad ... old actors reliving the past ... sad
Jesus, stop with the remakes!
“You’re Harry’s daughter”….loving stare. Im not crying, you’re crying.
