I got my 2 clown fish at about 1cm in length. I have had them for 18 months now and love them extra because I got them that small. Just like those tiny urchins, so cute.

Really wish y’all were in the US haha. Huge fan of ur vids, especially the side tracks 😂
Side note, do y’all recommend having a protein skimmer in a 20g AIO tank? Currently debating as Im already having trouble keeping nutrient levels up (resulting in Dino) slowly working on brining phosphate and nitrates up. End goal is to add more fish and feed more even after it stabilizes. Which is one of the reason I’m considering the p skimmer, also getting lots of hair algae after dosing MB7 and feeding heavy.
    Tank stock:
-2 clownfish, 5 snails, 4 hermit crabs, 1 cleaner shrimp, 13 mushrooms, 2 hammers, multiple motipora frags, too much GSP lol, med 9 head Duncan, 4 head acan, and pulsing Xenia, and Zoa garden.

Fine people of the TH-cam comments help me decide what to do with my tanks. I just picked up a planet aquariums 65 all in one mostly for the equipment on it, the pumps which I didn't care too much about were burnt because the guy let it run dry so I ordered some new jecod controllable pumps, the smallest ones they sell and of course is too much for the 65 at the lowest settings. I have an oceanic 144 half circle that I got gifted its just the tank, but the 530 max gph pumps could run it no problem and I feel the xr15s would be more then enough for the mixed reef I have planned what do you think, resell the 65 and set up the 144 or try to restrict the pumps on the 65 until they work.

Try reducing flow with a larger nozzle or I have poked/ drilled tiny holes in the return hose to kinda bleed the pressure. Probably not the “correct” way but it worked for me before. Just make sure the tiny holes are well below water line or you will have water squirt out haha return hose is cheap compared to a new pump

man i think this unruly dino attack keeps killing my snails and my cleaner shrimp. I could use some knowledge from you guys. And anyone else in the Reefing fam. 2 clowns and 1 emerals crap and 1 red legged hermit, 2 snails died. ive tried blackouts and changing my floss daily. anytime i add light back in the blooms starts back up. Im to nervous to add anything else. Im dying for corals but am anxiety riddled about adding any. 25 gallon peninsula,
    Thanks fam

I had dinos last week, long brown mucus looking strings and they multiplied fast, I just stocked my aquarium with a bunch of Zoa colonies, I started freaking out, I resolved my issue by cutting out the white light, blue light only, my nitrates and phosphate were depleted, I also had side walls of fish tank covered with sheeting green algae and some brown, which I think were soaking up / depleting nutrients so I scraped off all of the algae on my walls and my bare bottom as much as possible and then used chemiclean as directed, I had little cyano, I removed the top rocks with the booger algae and scraped the algae off with brand new wire brush and also used toothbrush cleaning them in bucket of RO/DI saltwater then put them back into tank. I stopped using my protein skimmer and started feeding daily, usually I feed every other day. 55 gallon corner tank, 4 fish, 1 peppermint shrimp, lots of Zoas, everything is stable now, no more outbreaks, plus I bought a cheap UV sterilizer on Amazon that I run during the day. I did water change as recommended after using chemiclean for two days.

@@ronr7791 incredible reply. I think what had happened was I one day in my ADHD research blitzes decided that I could benefit by dosing some microbacter 7 to body my bene bacteria a bit, phosphates and nitrates crashed after and I've been dealing with this now. I've also heard a healthy dosing of phyto and cepapods can also help. I'll take this advice.
I don't get much sline it just covers everything, looks white at the beginning and turns browny red this bloom has more green mixed in right now.

I tried everything to get rid of dino's. First tried a UV sterilizer and that helped a little bit. Dosing phyto and copepods also helped some. Eventually it kept coming back and I decided to use Fauna Marin Dino-X after sucking most of it out before dosing that. (take sea urchins out of the tank during treatment) They have been gone for about a month now after treating every other day 6 times and I can finally enjoy my aquarium again.

Honestly maybe try growing chaeto in a refugium/overflow to suck up nutrients to deprive the dino of nitrates/phosphates etc and manually remove the dino suck it up with some airline tubing. I think hardy soft corals like gsp and xenia would survive the dino maybe not thrive but survive until you get the bloom under control
