  • "Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants" written by Robin Wall Kimmerer
    Chapter 1: Skywoman Falling
Read by Sen Naomi Kirst-Schultz on 6/28/2022
"The children of Eve and Skywoman met, and the land around us bears the scars of that meeting."
A crucial origin myth for a world where we love each other and the natural world, rather than stand against it in opposition.
I'm reading this one from a tangible physical book I have so I don't have a PDF of it, if you want the original text I'm sure there's some a google search away, or a bookstore away!

Thank you so much for this. Both the book and the reading are utterly beautiful. I did not know how much I needed this. Such healing powers in this text 🥰

The way this first chapter alone struck me so deeply... thank you for reading it for us. I fully plan to buy a hard copy of the book when I can. As someone raised as a child of Eve, I am working to disentangle myself from the unloving, disconnected ways in which I and my loved ones were raised, and to weave back into life that is whole, honors nature, and breeds connection and healing. This is the kind of wisdom that brings that healing into focus.

Thank you for reading this story so beautifully. I just spent the last year slowly reading the book and it is wonderful to feel the energy of these words shared out loud. In gratitude, Christina.

I like your voice reading to me better than my head voice. You read it as if you're the author. Thank-you. I hope you will read her other book to me someday.
