For years, Megan Moon has brought her children to a garden in Milam County to foster a love of agriculture and help them understand where their food comes from. Growing up with chickens and turkeys herself, she finds it important for her children to experience different types of animals. Her children have become knowledgeable about the garden, confidently handling various animals and sharing their experiences with friends at school. This involvement has also sparked their interest in cooking, as they now take pride in helping prepare meals from the food they've collected. They enjoy the hands-on experience of getting their hands dirty in the garden and then bringing their harvest into the kitchen, making them more likely to appreciate and eat the food they help grow and cook.
