Thank you so much for this tutorial and for staying with us throughout the whole pattern. So nice to listen to you say each upcoming stitch out loud, so I can crochet without looking. I’m going to cover a pillow insert with my squares. Thanks again and looking forward to more content. ❤
Thank you for the tutorial. I'll go to my parent's house back in India during summer vacation. I wanna crochet a cardigan for my mother using these granny squares. I hope she likes it.

How do you block your sq? Just found your channel. Love it. Thanks for showing me how to make a heart-shaped granny square. With a little practice, I'll make my first grandchild cot blanket. Regards Kim x
I block the hearts by dampening them with water and pinning them to foam board grid. I usually need to pin the corners and the sides to make sure it's perfectly square : )
Would also absolutely love a written pattern! I’ve tried following the video but I got something wrong somewhere and a running stitch count for each round would help so much 🙌
I just begin with your tutorial to make the vest with this beautiful granny square heart shape. I wonder if you would also post the full tutorial of how to make it into the cardigan (vest)
Block your square means : 1) dampen your square by spraying water on it 2) lay the square on a foam board or something similar 3) place pins in the corners of the square adjusting your square a bit if needed to achieve a consistent size - my foam boards have a grid on them that helps ensure a nice consistent size square 4) allow the squares to dry - sometimes I use a fan to help the process along Blocking can make all the difference, especially with squares : )
Blocking is a way to make sure your squares are all the same size with straight edges. I usually spray mine with water and then pin it to a foam blocking board and let it dry.
Measure her shoulder width & length from top of shoulder to waist. If you're using cotton yarn be generous with size. Better a little big since the child will be growing : ) For example: if her shoulder width is 12", you'll need 3 - 4" squares across for the back; depending how long you want it 3 or 4 - 4" squares. I have a post on Instagram @ohmeohmy_crochet that shows how I made mine.
I think this is my favorite heart pattern square to date.

If I would like to go an extra round, do you have any instructions for that?
I worked 15 single crochets across each side and 2 sc, ch 1, 2 sc in each corner! Hope that helps 😊

Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you for the tutorial ❤
Thank you for this tutorial. Are you chaining three and doing 12 dc or does the chain 3 count as one of the double crochets?
You’re welcome! The ch 3 does not count as one of the 12 double crochets.
@@OhMeOhMyCrochet okay, great! Thank you so much!

Can you show how to make granny square with mini heart crochets
For round 4 im only getting 10 dc instead of 11, i cant figure out what i missed
The first stitch of each side can be hard to see - maybe slow down the video around 12:04. Let me know if that helps!
@@OhMeOhMyCrochet It did, Thank you 😊
That's ok I got it too. It looks fine to me
Do you have a written pattern for this? I love it!
Not yet!
Would also absolutely love a written pattern! I’ve tried following the video but I got something wrong somewhere and a running stitch count for each round would help so much 🙌
We end up with 13 double crochets on the magic ring? Or 12 counting with the first 3 chains?
12 dc + ch 3, so 13 😄
This was so helpful!! Thank you so much for the tutorial!!
Luv, Luv, Luv your tutorial, exactly what I've been looking for, I've seen others but this is the one. Thank you, thank you, thank you ❤
What if mine is curving I’m using a 5.50 mm hook and a little bit of thicker yarn?
You might need to loosen up your tension
If i want to increase the size of the square should i just repeat the steps of round 4?
how would i be able to turn it into a diamond so that the hearts are upright when i make a granny square bag?
Youd just start your square part (after completing the heart) at the side of the heart instead of the bottom of the heart
I just begin with your tutorial to make the vest with this beautiful granny square heart shape. I wonder if you would also post the full tutorial of how to make it into the cardigan (vest)
There's a question 😶 what yarn were u using?cotton?!
I’m using Hobbii Rainbow 8/8 cotton! It’s a 3-weight (but feels like a 4 to me)
How many skeins of yarn did you use? How much yarn per square?
What does block your square mean? (How?)
Block your square means : 1) dampen your square by spraying water on it
2) lay the square on a foam board or something similar
3) place pins in the corners of the square adjusting your square a bit if needed to achieve a consistent size - my foam boards have a grid on them that helps ensure a nice consistent size square

What is blocking the square?
Blocking is a way to make sure your squares are all the same size with straight edges. I usually spray mine with water and then pin it to a foam blocking board and let it dry.
If I’m making it for a tall 4 year old… how do I calculate?
Measure her shoulder width & length from top of shoulder to waist. If you're using cotton yarn be generous with size. I'm sorry I don't have one written yet
