Her Aunt Kethry was a retired mercenary mage, so went there for a decent sword and equipment, not the essentially scrap metal that she had.
That's actually the whole reason I uploaded it. The only version on youtube was damaged and it was incredibly hard to find. I spent hours looking for it- searching the most abandoned sections of the internet. There weren't any cats.
@TerraRose21 Kethry did test her a bit. An encounter did happen between them where Kero was asking for some magical aide in retrieving Dierna. Tarma tested her first, but Kethry is quite similar to her Oathsister, also, she needed to test for herself whether Kero deserved Need or if she was just like her mom.
"Need is her Name". Well, actually, her name is Lashan. But then, "Woman's Need calls me; As Woman's Need made me; Her Need I must answer; As my maker bade me"
Yes, but it was only Elspeth, who got Need from Kero, that found out where Need got its powers and that it was a person and had a name once. Throughout Vows & Honor, and By the Sword, it's only referred to as Need, and Kethry never knew any other name for the sword, so of course it's referred to as Need.
What did everyone think of this series? I personally loved it, but not as much as its predecessor, Vows and Honor. But even though I lived for that tie-in to Heralds of Valdemar, I didn't much care for the way that it ended.

Gods, but Heather had a spectacular voice. Not that Alec doesn't, but not to the same level, in all honesty. On the other hand, he's 54 now...age might be taking a toll.
Aaaaaaaactually! Well, you're right. It's Tarma that does that on the road. But Kethry and Kerowyn have basically the same conversation in the tower. And that conversation is much longer and much more like this song. The road talk wasn't very lengthy at all.
"I need to save her." Everyone: "You can't, go home." Grandma .0002 seconds later with sword: Your the admin now, and their life subscriptions have expired.

I so want to buy all her cd's i have oathbreakes and oathbound since i couldn't find it on the internet but it cost me $50 just for those two i have been procrastinating big time on getting the others since i can find copies of the songs on the internet.
Apparently there was some bad blood that resulted in Fish leaving Firebird and some sort of rights agreement where they were no longer able to produce copies of the album. Fish has been rather litigious on this point, it seems.
Could anyone explain to me why this song is connected to "Alles Neu" by Peter Fox? They're both great songs, but I don't see the connection between them.
Good thing Terna was there. Damned sword almost got her killed. Through a fire, straight ahead for the wizard, and never mind the one with the sword poised to gut her. Kerowyn had to threaten to throw her down a well, to make that damned blade behave with any sense. Any female in trouble in her range , off Kerowyn went. Never mind her intervention was not needed, or wanted, any excuse would do.
Hope you don't mind Elena but i'm stealing your song lol i have it as well but mine skips and has scratches on the disk right in the middle of this song so i'm totally stealing this mp3 and replacing my damaged one. Also going to put this replacement in my vid instead of the damaged one your a life saver
It is. Need is a major point in several of the Valdemar stories, from the short stories of White Mage Kethry and her blood sister, the Kal'enedral Tarma, on to the story that appears here, where Kethry passes on Need to Kerowyn on her ride to free her sister-in-law and have vengeance on the bandits that attacked their hold, and then through Kerowyns life, where she later passes Need onto Princess, and potential mage, Elspeth.
@@eliotreader8220 Only once, from Kethry to her granddaughter Kerowyn. Kethry herself got it from an old mercenary working at the mage school Kethry learned magic at before she went out to travel on her own, and Kero gave Need to Elspeth, princess of the kingdom Valdemar. Need always choses herself who the next wielder is going to be, always going to whom she can help most. There is a decent wiki for the Heralds of Valdemar book series, so if you have questions you can look it up yourself.
katie gardner i dont think it is right tough... someone like or loves Twilight. I wouldn't like it if someone would laugh about the Heralds Books. Why laugh about something another being loves? You dont have to light Twilight but you should respect the work and the fans of Twillight. Just a thought... :)
I agree, twilights pretty awfully written, I've read all the books so i can say yes, it's pretty terrible ..i like some charaters. Pretty much the entire book would be better with our bella and edward. Your standard gary lou and Mary sue. People can like it, but they can't claim it's some literary master peice.
Gwadelinianka I'm not sure if you ever found the answer, so I thought I'd give this a response - it's not something to be watched. It's a song written about a scene in a book. This particular song covers a scene in a book called Kerowyn's Ride by Mercedes Lackey
You really should get the facts straight Elena, Kethry wasn't the one that tested Kerowyn, it was Tarma. It's the curse of the family to have songs sung with false facts. But I guess "Bloodsworn Great Aunt" doesn't roll off the tongue like "Grandmother".
If anyone could help. There is a song i have been looking for called "A Serious Business" I don't know who made it. When I looked up the song from the lyrics i remember i found the lyric but no artist. The song is about a girl learning to use a sword or to fight. If anyone could help find it for me i would be grateful beyond words!
+jena osborne In case you haven't found it yet, I believe the singer is Meg Davis. I typed "a serious business song' into TH-cam's search box and that's what came up.
+jena osborne Just sharing some other fabulous songs, you might look up 'Freedom of the Snow' by Leslie Fish. Tells about what happens when a Sorority is snowed in and how they fend for themselves. Humorous but serious. Speaking of 'Serious', you might check out 'Serious Steel', also by Leslie Fish. Imagine a convention of the SCA and the SHTF. These people are just trying to get back home. There really should be a movie about this. Leslie Fish has a serious side to her music but she can be hilarious at the same time. Just search for Leslie Fish and Michael Longcor for songs about learning to be a warrior .. male or female. I really believe you will enjoy them.
it's far more honorable facing unbelievable odds to save a poor innocent girl simply because nobody else can or will rather than because of a strong personal attachment.

She was 14. So not really.
Gods, but Heather had a spectacular voice. Not that Alec doesn't, but not to the same level, in all honesty. On the other hand, he's 54 now...age might be taking a toll.
Leslie Fish in the role of Kethry, and the great Heather Alexander as Kerowyn.
Aaaaaaaactually!
Well, you're right. It's Tarma that does that on the road. But Kethry and Kerowyn have basically the same conversation in the tower. And that conversation is much longer and much more like this song. The road talk wasn't very lengthy at all.
I understand Kero fought the Bandits who broke into the kitchen.
that picture makes it look like she was going to have a sword fight with the evil mage who slayed her father
@Kayle0 Definitely Heather Alexander, immediately recognizable. The other one is probably Leslie Fish, similarly recognizable.
"I need to save her."
Everyone: "You can't, go home."
Grandma .0002 seconds later with sword:
Your the admin now, and their life subscriptions have expired.
You can probably find the appropriate CD's at various Sci-Fi/Fantasy conventions. I don't know where you live, but Inconjunction in Indianapolis is a good place. You just have to find Juanita Coulson, she sells a lot of music.
Very cool!
Yay! Eowyn!! 1:32
thats a pretty unique name. Awesome
And it's a much better love story.
Not alone!
I believe while she didn't know how to use a sword yet. I believe Kero did knew how to use daggers
Also going to put this replacement in my vid instead of the damaged one your a life saver
her Grandmother's Sword sounds like it's really important
The lyrics in the book are quite a bit different.
No rage from me i'm with u
are magic swords really important in the stories
Only this one. There are two more songs about it, one is called "Need", the other "Blade of Desire"
@@seonor I was wondering if Need was based off another sword from a similar book
@@seonor I just wondering if Need was handed down in her family.
The "raiders" are about to find out why it is a bad idea to anger certain women.
Especially one who carries THAT sword!
lolololol my Drama teacher called me a snob today for insulting twilight.. it's true tho
katie gardner i dont think it is right tough... someone like or loves Twilight.
@Kayle0 You are correct.
Does anybody know where can I watch it online?
Gwadelinianka I'm not sure if you ever found the answer, so I thought I'd give this a response - it's not something to be watched. It's a song written about a scene in a book. This particular song covers a scene in a book called Kerowyn's Ride by Mercedes Lackey
+Skye Rathke By the Sword by Mercedes Lackey
You really should get the facts straight Elena, Kethry wasn't the one that tested Kerowyn, it was Tarma. It's the curse of the family to have songs sung with false facts. But I guess "Bloodsworn Great Aunt" doesn't roll off the tongue like "Grandmother".
I tried to ask you the orher day.
Psh. Camy, you weren't supposed to comment before i did!!!!!
What are some of the lyrics?
+jena osborne In case you haven't found it yet, I believe the singer is Meg Davis. I typed "a serious business song' into TH-cam's search box and that's what came up.
omg thank you so much Emiko!
+jena osborne Savitar the surfing god has it in his videos.
ooh i saw a picture from the lord of the rings.
Megan.. I need the 🔑
The other singer sounds like Leslie Fish
Yes it has that special phaseing that Fish uses. A much youger Fish. Not quite as rasphy as what we hear from her now.
1:26 looks likle Xina
Crystal
Angie
Dana
If it wernt for the son this could totally be a lesibian story (haven't read the book yet I want to cause of this song)
it's far more honorable facing unbelievable odds to save a poor innocent girl simply because nobody else can or will rather than because of a strong personal attachment.
@@PatienceKiss you make a fair point my freind
She hated that song :p
Feia!!! Il rwar tjis existence apatt. I swear.
