They are really impressive guitars. We have been selling them to beginners, pros, Modders and Jake Loosemores. Its always great to see experienced players get a kick out of just how good they are for the money! PM
I bought a JT300 and it's incredible. I had my hands on the JT300 and the TE62 from Harley Benton and the Jet sounded more neutral stock and the neck was magical. Few mods I've done - got a 6 brass saddle bridge, put two graph tech string trees on (the break angle over the nut is poor and causes string rattle and decreased sustain), upgraded the electronics with dual coil pickups and a 4 way wiring for in series. The tuners are mushy but they'll do the job.
I have 3 Jet Guitars. 2 Teles and one Strat. They are the best modding platform I've found. The bridge on the Teles actually isn't compensated, but I replaced it on both of them with a Wilkinson compensated brass saddle top loading bridge. That intonates pretty well. The Teles are routed for any type of neck pickup. I put a Curtis Novak regular neck and fat bridge set in one tele with a Gunstreet harness, A Monty's P90 in the neck and a Porter 9T in the bridge and Mojotone solderless harness in the other Tele and Fralin Steelpole 43s in the neck and middle and a Fralin Pure PAF in the bridge of the Strat with a Gunstreet treble bleed harness with 500k volume and 250k tone with vitamin T capacitor. The nut and tuners were fine on all three and the tremolo was fine on the strat. I bought them all for 229 bucks each on Amazon. I can't say enough good stuff about them especially after leveling, crowning, and polishing the frets. The only real downside is that the fretwire is not very tall, so there won't be the fret life you would get from spending another 100 bucks.

I am looking to make the same changes, starting with the bridge. Could you tell me the model of the bridge? And if you had to make any modifications to install it? Thanks!!
I've got 3 Jet guitars SSS Strat, HSS Strat and the Tele with the humbucker at the neck. All three played brilliantly out of the box. I changed the SSS Start pickups for Fender Texas Specials (which cost more than the guitar) and I'm changing the HSS Strat pickups for Alnico 5 pups and a new wiring loom. The tele didn't need anything done to it. I would recommend to any guitarist who hasn't got one to get at least two.
I know it's vanity, but my only gripe with a lot of the more budget friendly brands is that their logos look like they hired someone's teenager to draw them. I don't mean they should mimic the bigger brands, but it's just... something
I have a solution: If you know your gig or jam will be filled with a room of snobs, simply tape about 15 hundred dollar bills on that Jet's headstock. Or better yet just totally outplay everyone on your Jet. Few things are more fun than smoking some guy on stage who is playing a 3000$ axe and a boutique amp.

i recently bought a daphne blue jet 300 strat.....as someone who owned a player plus strat not long ago, it sounds more like a strat than the actual strat.(may have been the noiseless pickups in the player plus i never liked)...the jet has one of the best necks i have ever put my hands on. the stock pickups aint the best, but im going through my ampero stomp so it sounds good regardless. got some fender 60s pickups coming soon from my mate in canada to put in it, then im gonna add some vanson locking tuners and the guitar will be a beast. i recomend jet guitars to any level of player, but those of us who are intermediate or above will prob want to mod the pickups and tuners ect. better tha harley benton strats aswell imho (i have owned 2 of theres)
@@kanjinha the more expensive HB strats may have better pickups, but i have to say the jet in my hands fits like a glove, and everyone ive seen that plays them loves their necks.....i cant knock harley benton though , i have owned many over the years, i have sold them off though, but the jet...is a keeper for me...it plays better than my fender player plus that i owned and sold because it was so dissapointing.
@@Atlantean-1980 appreciate your feedback. Pickups I can always change, I guess I have to check those necks myself. I didn’t understand if they were Dimention the with at the nut?I think they are 42mm like Fenders right? Not smaller like in Squiers.. Have you seen this?
Ah, last one, the jet300 has the 4 bolt on neck in parallel screws. But these won’t fit straighten a Fender MIM Tele body right? I doubt.. the 350 and 400 above they don’t have simétrical screws holes so I know it won’t fit.
I bought one from Merchant City Music in Glasgow and they set it up for me before shipping… perfect setup… I live 20 minutes from Andertons and spent quite a lot of money there but you never get a setup included, at the least in the 500 to 700 pound range. This is a very fair videos. Cheers

I've had my two for two and half years. The JS400 was perfect out of the box, even the floating trem. The JT300 needed a tweak of the truss rod. The necks seem to play themselves. Nuts cut well. The JS400 developed fret sprout this winter but I'm not storing them well. I havent had to adjust the truss rods as the seasons change. I played a JS300 in an Athens music shop to try out some amps. That guitar felt and played extremely well. So JET are doing a good job on QC. (All lefties fwiw.)
Sounds good, not uncommon to have to adjust truss rods on more expensive guitars either if they're shipped to you. They endure some weird environment changes along the way.
@@tgarder Absolutely. I think this JS400 and an Epiphone Les Paul Special are the only guitars I've bought new (sight unseen) that have been perfectly setup. Every other instrument has needed a setup and sometimes some repair work - it takes a lot for me to send a guitar back. I've been most unlucky with G&L Tributes - which is a shame because the components parts are quite good. So hats off to JET.
The more of these videos I watch featuring budget guitars, the more convinced I become custom shop specials and vintage instruments carry ridiculous premiums. This ably demonstrates a reasonable quality instrument in the hands of a gifted player will sound fantastic.
Excellent...great time to be a beginner by the looks of it. My first electric was a Columbus Les Paul in 1975 which cost me £50....which equates to over £400 today! And it was a terrible guitar, amazing I persevered but just didn't know any better.
I recently acquired a jet js400 and must admit that it has one of the most comfortable necks I’ve ever played. The pickups on their lower models, like the 300,400 and through to the 500 models, I believe, have ceramic pickups, which can be a little microphonic, but as you demonstrate, sound really good. Sire guitars feel like an upmarket version of the Jet range, particularly when comparing the S7 models, but as you mention, they are well over twice the price. The one thing I must admit though, is that the quality of the guitars on offer £ for£ these days, far exceeds anything that was available, 10,20,30, or even 40 years ago!. Please keep up the good work with your no nonsense reviews and amazing dexterity, GB
I think that this is an absolutely fair review of Jet Guitars. On my channel, I review their S Type. I expected it to be awful at the price, but tried one at a trade show, loved it, then they sent me one to take a closer look at. I found the S Type tuning stability to be surprisingly good and the playability so good that it would be the guitar I would grab over that of another S Type that was loaned to me at the same time that was double the price. At worst the pickups would need upgrading down the road, but that is subjective. As beginner guitars, the cheaper Jets will be great and they offer a great platform for upgrading. Great review! Thanks !
I've only found one issue - need to update - basically the pickups at gig volume are microphonic, so I think those might be more important to upgrade than I was initially thinking, but even with that upgraded, it's still a lot of guitar for the money!!
I picked up a Jet JS400 from project music and love it. They always have a few so tried them all. Some definitely feel a little less in terms of quality to the touch so I left with the one that felt best. Installed different pickups in it so it now feels and sounds great. Gigging with it next week. Would 100% buy another
I spent months trying out T-styles at less than £1000, including Claasic Vibes, Fender Players, an FGN, a Fret King, a Sire T3, and a Jet JT350. I still haven't found anything I prefer to the Jet. Its neck is gorgeous, it sounds good. It feels like a straightahead tele, without any fancy bits. Because of its cost I've not been afraid of modding it. For sure, the quality varies. I tried out 3. One of them was a bit of a lemon, the other two were fine, but the paint finish on one of them wasn't the best. My one was good out of the box but had a bit of fret buzz. Again, because of the cost, I did my first ever fret level on it and this fixed the buzz. With regards intonation, that's par for the course for Teles. I've fitted compensated saddles and intonation is fine. So you can definitely get a great guitar, but it's worth trying out a few. (I did also try out the cheaper JT-300 and it was just as good, just a different selection of colours and no string through bridge.)
I purchased a JT300 8 months ago in blue, because I wanted an inexpensive telecaster. I really like my guitar, the QC in this guitar is really good. I thought about changing the ceramic pickups but the more I play it the more I think I’m going to keep them but I’m thinking about putting brass saddles. Thank you for your honest review.
Owned the Jet jazzmaster for about 15 months now, and it's awesome. There are some quibbles, of course, but there are quibbles on guitars that I own double the price. The neck is fantastic, the fretwork was stunningly good for a guitar under £300, it looks great, the tuners and bridge are actually half decent. Only complaints is that the nut slots are a touch high (only by a few mms, if that) and the pickups are kind of mid. But that's hardly the end of the world, and those are things you can change. The fundamental instrument itself is great. I bought it at my local guitar shop, so I've played a bunch of the Jet strats and teles as well and they all outperform their price. I'm sure there's a dud here and there, but man, the stuff you can get for under £300 these days is crazy.
I bought the JT-350 with a neck humbucker in black to get something affordable, yet nice looking to put into a baritone tuning for now. It was on sale for 325€. The finish had some scratches on the front but I believe they'll go away if polished properly, not very deep or anything. The neck feels amazing, fret work was better than on a couple Fenders I have (both MIM), tuners do the job, but don't feel that great. The electronics are functional, but the tone pot is useless unless you only need it at either 0 or 10, because there barely is anything going on in-between. The pickups give you a very usable sound which did need some EQ to get more out of them. Volume pot works fine, no idea what value they are though. Bridge single-coil felt a bit shrill even compared to my Jaguars with 1meg pots and stock pickups in the other, Novak Lipsticks in the other. Bridge is very solid (Wilkinson 6-saddle T-type). The biggest thing for me was actually the nut. It was cut nearly perfectly and was able to fit 10-46 strings with no binding whatsoever. Action at the nut was right where I'd want it anyway, so that was nice. I hate having to take a new guitar to a shop to get the nut filed since there's often too much height going on and/or thicker strings just won't fit. The guitar sustains nicely and you can feel it resonate throughout the entire neck and body. The neck had issues with relief and the allen key was a tad too small for it, but after some time I carefully just managed to add some relief and hopefully I won't need to adjust later again since I'm scared of stripping the trussrod nut... I sent them an email about this and they did respond so hopefully that's getting sorted. All I'm looking to upgrade is at the very least the pots and the switch. After that I'll see if the pickups come alive or not. Tuners can stay since they do their job and the guitar stays in tune even better than my Fenders. I would recommend these for people of any skill level and anyone that is looking for a guitar for an alternate tuning or just as a backup guitar. The fact that they don't require that much upgrades or anything is even better, because it's so easy to suddenly have spent 300€ on upgrades without even realizing it, almost doubling the cost. Last thing: There is an issue with break angle over the nut on the G string for me. Most likely caused by the locking tuners that barely have space to add more winds around the post, compared to regular vintage style tuners which have plenty of space there. The string rattles when played open but I just added a hairtie behind the nut to mute that. Probably needs a string tree to make it sit better in there though.
I just bought a JS400 for my nephew who is starting on guitar. I was really impressed with how good the Jet is and how well set up out of the box. But still I did some work to it: polished the frets, set the intonation, action, pickup heights and now is pretty awesome for the price paid. The only thing that really ‘needed’ work was the intonation but that is fairly easy to fix.
I HAD to bought 2. The blue tele and the HSS Strat in olympic white. For the money, I'm still trying to figure out if If I'm going to buy the regular Strat in sunburst.
I got the tele one before they raised the price from guitarguitar and have modded it loads. I really love it, only thing I don't like about that guitar is the logo and the annoying bit of plastic under the backplate.
I’ve been feeling the call of a budget T type for a while that I can have for noodling on the sofa and leave out and no worry about kids/pets etc messing it up. Jet have such a stellar reputation from reviewers and those baked maple necks look incredible so they were top of my list but the lack of through body stinging is a deal breaker for me on a Tele. I might go down another tier and try the ultra budget Eastcoast T1 to scratch that T type itch and get an S type from Jet (those necks man, I need one in my life 😂). Awesome tones and playing as ever John!
A friend gave me a Jet Tele as a gift yesterday, and I'm blown away by how good it is! I've got a few expensive guitars, and the Jet doesn't feel or sound like a cheap guitar-really impressed!
I have the same one in sonic blue (mine is not too heavy actually) and I love it! I only changed pickups to a decent set and it's a great guitar now. I plan to change the saddles to compensated and then it's just as good as most of my Fenders.
Just recorded an album with a shell pink Tele out of the box and was very impressed. It didn't go out of tune and I recorded 15 songs (no need to tune it), performed great. I usually play Fender American standard telecasters, strats, a Rickenbacker 330 and Gibson ES guitars, and this one did very well. Also, the color is great. :-)
I bought at JS-400 almost a year ago. I tweaked it to how I like guitars set up, but I have to do that with just about everything. Nothing needed repaired and the fretwork is good. I've liked the guitar. But I have a sample size of 1. I also just for reference, deck my trem so it's basically a hardtail now. So, I can't comment on the trem.
I recently came into some cash and bought two Gibson sg’s. A sg special with p90’s and a 60’s tribute model. Sunk 2500 bucks into those. I got them because I bought an Ibanez at 120 sg copy for 200 bucks and loved it… a month later and the Gibsons are being returned. Branding is BS. Go to a store and pick up every damn guitar in your budget that you have some interest in. You never know what you’ll bond with until you pick it up.
I've got the same shell pink guitar - I've upgraded the controls, bridge and pickups and it plays as good as any tele I've owned or played. Top loaders are great, that reduction in string tension makes them really easy and fun to play.
Along with a bunch of high end guitars I already own, I bought a Jet JS-350, which is a Tele with a neck humbucker. At a very low price point, it has an extremely high bang for the buck. Mine gets gigged alongside guitars which cost me ten times the price, and the Jet holds it own with no problem. I recommend them without reservation to experienced players and beginners, and especially to anyone on a tight budget. I wish my first electric had been half as good as a Jet.
It's true, putting in a little extra to these lower-end guitars that have good bones you can get a happy guitar. After being dissappointed with a Squier CV Deluxe (great neck, faulty wiring) I got a Harley Benton TE-62, for about £160 too. And like that Jet, it was actually suprisingly damn decent stock. I preferred the Squier CV neck, but HB was more solid. So, I spend about £240 on it. Neck prewired harness, Tonerider vintage pickups, brass compensated saddles, Gotoh tuners, bone nut and a setup. Now it works really well as my second Tele, after my Vintera Vintage Modified It's more clean, bright, light and shimmery than the Vintera 60s modified, sounding a bit more the Sire T series. But I like that it sits higher in the mix, more of a country/funk sounding Tele than a rock Tele. I also just got a Sire L7 Goldtop, as my second LP-style, and it's really lovely - nearly flawless and plays so well. I like the sound of my Les Paul Special better, but I think that's down to the difference between P90s and Humbuckers. The Sire neck actually plays better than the Gibson, and that's not to disparage the Gibson. The Sire tuners are better too.
I bought a JS600 B stock for £350, it had a slight mark where someone had adjusted the Trussrod! It’s a fabulous guitar, way better than any similarly specified Fender never mind Squier, and at a much lower cost! Would I buy a cheap one of their range? Only as a modding platform, the roasted maple neck is worth buying it for, the body is OK, but I would junk the hardware and replace with something decent. To me the days of buying a Fender if you want a Strat or Tele are over there’s so many less expensive options that are as good or better for a lot less money, if you want it to play these are well worth it, if you want it to look at and brag about then go ahead be one who uses very little of your grey matter!
Right. Much appreciated that we can rely on your reviews. But once someone tells a slight mistruth then we lose faith in that person's trustworthiness.
I’ve played a couple in shops and always been impressed. The necks go a long way in elevating them above the competition in my view. Hardware can always be upgraded at a later date.
Bought a js400 at Christmas, out of the box it wouldn't hold tuning, did some mods ,nut, locking tuners and pickups ,stands up well against my strats which are USA
I have a Jet JS-400 which I bought 2-3 years ago. Unfortunatelly, mine was on that 50% bad ods side. I had to work a bit on that thing to make it playable (high action, fret buz, etc). I also upgraded the electronics (pickups, pots, etc). Still not happy with it. I would say that for the money I paid is acceptable.
spot-on review. I have the same guitar and it too is "heavish" but i was very impressed with the instrument overall. with a quick intonation adjustment, you'll have a very good guitar.
What should we take away from this? 1) TH-cam reviews cannot be trusted. 2) Try guitars in shops, and buy based on your experience. 3) Do as John says, and invest in guitars that are a couple of price points up from the bottom. The Jet guitar does look really good, but I'd still buy one from a shop and not sight-unseen.
Agreed to a point. So many guitars are written off for a subpar "out of the box" setup, but absolutely anything on a guitar can be fixed. It's important for players to learn how to do simple setups - set action, adjust the truss rod, set intonation, etc. It's so easy and can transform a guitar in a matter of minutes. It's not really possible to try every brand of guitar in a shop.
Bought on a whim and love it . Tried in the shop got new strings and a set up for around 170 quid superb . Because it’s so cheap and really performs I have a real soft spot for it . I just can’t fault it . More likely to pick this up and noodle than one of my high end pieces . Absolute no brainer
@@maxpeck4154 You need to assess whether a guitar either needs a few tweaks (I agree, we should all be able to do that), or requires more complex work like having frets re-seated; something I've seen with brand new, expensive guitars and which is completely unacceptable, hence rejecting any such guitars.
Jets are not just a low end beginner instrument. I've got (2) Jets Telecaster style and (1) Strat style and they are all awesome. Fit and finish is excellent and they sound amazing!
I have the js400, i bought it to see if the hype was real and it was. It played as good as my fender player strat with less issues out of the box, specially the frets, the ones on the player strat where a mess when i bought it and had to level and polish them.
Hi John, video was very informative. Perhaps a request on a follow up video. I live in the part of the world where these guitars or a lot of brands aren't available instore. We're basically down to what's in the shop. Mainly cheap knock off brands you've never heard of. Or overpriced top tier PRS guitars and other brands. What credible resources can one trust when you can't play or test the guitar? It's usually more affordable to import most guitars than buy them instore (cause they are overpriced like crazy). Perhaps pointers on these, and I actually had a thought in mind why don't these stores just charge an extra fee to do a setup on guitars before they are sent out to customers? Better to have something playable. I know it's a mouth full but hopefully someone here can comment on this. Thanks
Never usually buy mail order guitars but the Jet JS 400 was very playable straight out of the box, finish and frets almost as good as my Fender and Gibson, yes of course the pickups, tuners etc won't quite be as good, but what do you expect for £169 !
I've got the same pink Jet Tele. Already had Gibson Les Paul and Japanese Strat (60's aged parts). I sent the first Jet back because I couldn't intonate it. Replacement is better. My saddles are not compensated. I tried some cheap compensated saddles and still wasn't totally happy so bought a new, cheapish bridge with individual saddles. But it's difficult to find such a thing with a top loader Tele and these ones aren't stable, so i'm going to put back the original bridge and try the compensated saddles again. Might have to figure how to do the pliers technique on the screws. But I've never really understood how that works if you turn the screw at all. I've never really liked the look of Teles but do like this one.
I found with the brass saddles 'compensated' by one flat face, that I was getting 'sitaring' on the strings that played over the curved side. My solution was to file those three 'open' curves flat: just leaving a normal 'land' on those saddles.
You said we need to talk about jet guitars and 14 minutes later I still don't know what you said!🤷♂️ Theyre good? Theyre sh¡†?? What is!?! 🙆♂️ P.S. You _did_ make it *sound* fkn exemplary..
You do make any guitar sound wonderful, which helps, but I've only heard good things about Jet products....you mention Project Music, am I allowed to say what a great shop that is, and their tech guy, Phil I think, has done wonders on a couple of my guitars!
I hope this video helps me sell my Jet JS400 :D I love it, but with the music my band plays, I find little use for a 6-string and would rather use the money to get an 8-string.
I bought a Jet because I was willing to try one for $200. I replaced the bridge, tuners, and a pickup for around $200. The hardware is pretty cheap. The body and neck are really good and with the upgrades, it’s a very solid guitar.
Purchased a JS300 11 months ago. Out of the box the nut wasn't glued at all, but the shipper made it right (had it fixed). Stock this guitar is solid. I installed an after-market pickguard with Lollar mid/neck and a Tim Shaw hum bridge and you'd think maybe that's overkill, but even stock it is great. It's a keeper for me, for when I get old and broke, I won't feel badly keeping this excellent guitar.
I ve got a js300 in gold for like 160 quid. I play it more odten than my fender. Dont know why, i love both, but the neck just makes me grab it more often. Also it had no uogrades and no trips to my luthier. Just some intonation and trussrodd adjustments i did myself. Jet guitars are just too good, and not just for the price point. My fender neck pickup costs more than my jet guitar. Lol.
I have been playing for 30 years and love TH-cam channels promoting gear, you have to cherry pick basically, I bought a PRS HB copy which every TH-camr said was an exact copy, but when I purchased a PRS, was a totally different story, not even close.
My dirt bike friends are all fantastic mechanics. My guitar friends honestly do not even own a set of nut files or the knowledge to use them. I have been a regional repair tech for multiple guitar brands, off and on for decades. I am not sure why so few guitarists invest some energy into things that matter. I have shredder friends who can sweep pick like Paul Gilbert but couldn't strum Happy Birthday in BFlat even if I told em it was a I, V, I, IV progression. I have friends who cant play a simple 12 bar blues without missing the changes but can play an Eric Johnson solo perfectly. They seem to not understand the full role of what a guitarist is and does.
Have had a JS400 for a few weeks now and find it amazing value for money, and won't be changing anything on it. It can't match my Gibson LP std, but that cost ten times more. I also have a Fender Tele US std, but Jet are making some great guitars, and I'll be buying another one !
Love the Jets 😎👌 Hope you try out a JS400 on day 😁 I'm a weekend warrior. been gigging my JS400 (with "some" upgrades) for over a year now. Jet are doing "F" style guitars way better than anyone else atm - even Squier imo 😜 Awesome playing as always sir 🫡
They are 200 euros guitars, and they are worth as much. Sure, they are pretty, but the feel is not great, and there is always plenty of work to make them usable (fret polishing, setup, deep clean of fretboard, frets, etc) and in case of their strats, the floating bridge is useless. Touch it, and it´s all out of tune. That said, they sell for 200 euros and they look nice up on a guitar hanger. If they come as yours - or mine, got this one and their basic strat model to run some videos - one can adjust it to make them decent. Good platform for upgrades but only if no issues with the scale - as some luthiers reported. I´ve seen one coming with frets placed almost 1mm off. So yeah, safe bet for this price if 50% of them come out playable. :D I would never recommend for someone using a guitar professionally. With a bit more, a tiny bit more, you can get a Squier Classic Vibe that is WAY BETTER. But, what I say is I´d rather spend 200 euros on this than 400 on an Epiphone. It gives you an idea of the QC on the cheapest Epis. However, when you play one of this ultra cheap Jet guitars, then one proper guitar, the difference in feel and sound are MASSIVE - just the same as the price difference. The fact it sounds good here is because you are playing it. Any proper musician can make any bad guitar sound alright. Tone is mostly in the hands, but great tools make the journey more enjoyable and the results more pleasant and easier to achieve. Anyway, nice video, John, as always.
Honestly it's sad to say but i've had less darn problems with maintaning a great setup on the cheap HB fusion over my more expensive Premium Ibanez AZ although iam yet try a Prestige AZ. Jet look great much like Eart, Fazley insert name here sick playing mate!
The Jet guitar sounded very good. It looks like more budget guitar makers are learning how to make good Pickups. With the affordability of CAD and CNC, manufacturing good, consistent quality budget guitars is becoming the norm.
Its always disappointing to hear of more expensive guitars having QC issues eg Re your Suhr story. I had to send a MIJ Fender back due to its QC issues ( string buzzing etc) although I was often informed that Japan has sone of the best quality control in their guitar factories. Tremendous intro playing btw.
They are really impressive guitars. We have been selling them to beginners, pros, Modders and Jake Loosemores. Its always great to see experienced players get a kick out of just how good they are for the money! PM
Jake loosemore? 😊
I bought a JT300 and it's incredible. I had my hands on the JT300 and the TE62 from Harley Benton and the Jet sounded more neutral stock and the neck was magical.

I have a Jet tele, Jet strat, and that Jet HH jazzmaster body one. Love them all!!!!
Love backing track and love your guitar playing .I want to try jet guitars
I know it's vanity, but my only gripe with a lot of the more budget friendly brands is that their logos look like they hired someone's teenager to draw them. I don't mean they should mimic the bigger brands, but it's just... something
Man.
. And this jet logo looks like those fake temporary tattoos that came on teenagers snacks.. why they can't see it I dont really get it
I have a solution:
If you know your gig or jam will be filled with a room of snobs, simply tape about 15 hundred dollar bills on that Jet's headstock.
Or better yet just totally outplay everyone on your Jet.

i recently bought a daphne blue jet 300 strat.....as someone who owned a player plus strat not long ago, it sounds more like a strat than the actual strat.(may have been the noiseless pickups in the player plus i never liked)...the jet has one of the best necks i have ever put my hands on.
the stock pickups aint the best, but im going through my ampero stomp so it sounds good regardless.
got some fender 60s pickups coming soon from my mate in canada to put in it, then im gonna add some vanson locking tuners and the guitar will be a beast.
i recomend jet guitars to any level of player, but those of us who are intermediate or above will prob want to mod the pickups and tuners ect.
better tha harley benton strats aswell imho (i have owned 2 of theres)
Hi, so you prefer the Jet over HB is that it? I’m thinking in getting one. Thanks
Ah, last one, the jet300 has the 4 bolt on neck in parallel screws. But these won’t fit straighten a Fender MIM Tele body right? I doubt.. the 350 and 400 above they don’t have simétrical screws holes so I know it won’t fit.
@@kanjinha i think you may be right regarding the holes , obviously holes can be filled and re drilled ect , to make a neck fit.

This is a very fair videos.

I bought the JS300 a while back and loved it (even made a video about it). I had to sell it recently for bills but I’m after another now.
Back-to-back tested a couple of JET JT300s for my channel recently... ended up taking one home LOL
I have two Jet guitars I love them, took them both for a professional set up and sound great.
Cooking! Love those runs John! And the rhythmic lick looping in the first half was “ the glue “. Very sweet and tight!
I've got 3 Jets, the necks are brilliant. For the money they are brilliant. Also just got a PRS CE se satin, holy shit 🔥🔥
Tis a beast, especially for £150
I HAD to bought 2.
Exactly the same here.... the sonic blue looks gorgeous. And I bought a set of Fender Tex Mex pickups. Now it's a great tele...
I have a jet strat, got a professional set up and needed a fret dress , I put fender tex mex pickups in it and it's a fabulous guitar

Which preset/amp was that in the intro? Sweet jam as usual. For some reason whenever I hear ceramic pickups I really like them lol.
Ok, but what preset sre you using here?
10:20… I completely drifted off into your incredible playing and just wanted you to keep doing that for 20 minutes
I have a JS 800 (the reliced Strat) and had to replace tuners and bridge saddles and the pickup selector which broke I don’t consider it a good deal
I've got the same shell pink guitar - I've upgraded the controls, bridge and pickups and it plays as good as any tele I've owned or played. Top loaders are great, that reduction in string tension makes them really easy and fun to play.
Looking for an affordable relic strat to modify, if yiu get chancw i wiuld love to hear what you think about yhe Vintage icon V6H
You went to project music and show a screenshot of gear for music. Whats all that about
It's true, putting in a little extra to these lower-end guitars that have good bones you can get a happy guitar.
Their entry-level telecaster was a good idea because it came in blue and yellow, colors you never get on entry-level guitars.
8:02 the face had me going "pause"....first time i've had a JNC jumpscare
I own the same model, but in a cream finish. I was Very impressed with the guitar out of the box, but a few little tweaks and it just plays fantastic.
I got the JS500 red sparkle put an Emerson wiring kit and a custom red and white set of Duncan 78’s and it is awesome
Discovered them today and bought one. WOW, I love it !!
I guess in the UK etc we can use returns if there are issues....Can't go wrong in a shop if you can try a few!
I’m back in the IK for a bit and have discovered pretty much all the guitar shops have disappeared
Thanks
Would you gig it John ?
People won't Always get 'sitaring' on those curves, it depends on the critical angle which is going to vary from guitar to guitar.
I actually like that this is a top loader. I've been looking for something just like this.
I’ve had two Jet guitars JT350 and their jag shaped one. Both really capable guitars with nothing wrong with them.
You said we need to talk about jet guitars and 14 minutes later I still don't know what you said!🤷♂️

P.S. You _did_ make it *sound* fkn exemplary..

Lovely guitar for the price. Agree is a bit heavy, but not a problem. Thanks for everything you do.
It's pretty right? But yeh, I think at this price point, I can't really think of anything else I'd rather play?
How heavy it is, please?
You do make any guitar sound wonderful, which helps, but I've only heard good things about Jet products....you mention Project Music, am I allowed to say what a great shop that is, and their tech guy, Phil I think, has done wonders on a couple of my guitars!
I would love you to try the latest Harley Benton ST Modern Plus! Looks like it has all the cool specs and it’s selling for 399
The weight issue means its a no no for me! just sent an HB back like a concrete slab round your shoulder.
I hope this video helps me sell my Jet JS400 :D I love it, but with the music my band plays, I find little use for a 6-string and would rather use the money to get an 8-string.
I feel like Gibson Murphy Lab guitars are great for beginners, you won't spend too much as well
fantastic playing in the intro
I bought a Jet because I was willing to try one for $200. I replaced the bridge, tuners, and a pickup for around $200. The hardware is pretty cheap. The body and neck are really good and with the upgrades, it’s a very solid guitar.
Some sick playing
How are you going to do a full-length review of a guitar, and not put a link to it in the description?😮
Lol.
All guitars are made with CNC. Tolerances are there. Maybe change tuners and pots.
Your phrasing is so good! 👍
I love budget guitars to the point I'm going to start collecting tele style guitars.
I got a jet Strat HSS, and it plays nice. It looks great and second-hand was cheap!
Great Playing after 9:30!!! Great Noodling!!!!
I have been playing for 30 years and love TH-cam channels promoting gear, you have to cherry pick basically, I bought a PRS HB copy which every TH-camr said was an exact copy, but when I purchased a PRS, was a totally different story, not even close.
I have a Jet as my backup axe, such a solid little guitar for pennies, and the roasted maple neck is gorgeous. Killer value. 👍
On the subject of weight, I have a late 2000’s Squier CV Tele and that thing is 8.5lb
We're I blindfolded, I would know this was Johnathan by the tone in those fingers.
Love the Jets 😎👌
Hope you try out a JS400 on day 😁
I'm a weekend warrior. been gigging my JS400 (with "some" upgrades) for over a year now.
Jet are doing "F" style guitars way better than anyone else atm - even Squier
imo 😜
Awesome playing as always sir 🫡
I have the JS-400 and it is brill for the price you pay, i love it so much..i bought a hard case for it which cost 70% of the guitars value 😁
Love all 5 of my Jet guitars!
