It's so ridiculous hearing the guy go "she attacked me and then kept attacking me and then kept attacking me while we were in the car together so I pulled her hair to try and get her a stop and she went to that bystander to him it likely looks like I was just attacking her" And then the cop just responds "well you were pulling her hair so..." It's so disgusting especially when we have footage of her literally attacking him unprovoked

I had the police victim blame me when I had a stalker (he eventually went to prison for it) , he was insane. The police kept questioning me as if I’m the one who caused it asking if I’ve dated him or said anything to lead him on, I didn’t even know the guy. Ridiculous I was so furious had to deal with him stalking me for months before he finally got arrested.

To be fair to the officer who was talking to the man, it seems like the information they had when they rolled up on the scene came from two men who reported a woman run frantically out of the car and hide inside a van for help, probably saying he was going to kill her because she mentioned that she thought he would kill her. The officer wouldn't have seen the footage yet and the man didn't do the best job of explaining what happened, that she was the one driving, that she was the one who initiated the confrontation etc. He did explain that she was hitting and punching him and that he then pulled her hair, but they also probably hear people downplay their own part in domestic abuse cases all the time.
They really should be assuming everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but they also have to worry about their own safety and the safety of passersby, so they have to be ready for violence at a moment's notice. With the information available, I can see why that officer reacted the way he did.

Or its the fact that for decades, they have been portrayed as victims and have been given social acceptance of being violent towards men. As someone closer to their 40s, than 30s, men have always been told "never hit a woman", even doctor Phil told a man who was abused by his other half, he should just let it happen and shouldn't hit back or defend himself. Throughout the 80s and 90s, movies and TV shows displayed women slapping men for every wrong move they made and you wonder why they turn out this way? People know they're entitled a lot of the time and take advantage of it, instead of seeing it as a benefit they should respect.

Once you start attacking someone, you simply become an aggressor. You are attempting to do me harm, and my body will not magically heal itself based on your sex. A wound is a wound, a bruise is a bruise, etc. If we start basing self defense on qualifiers, what's next? Make them fill out a demographics survey before I defend myself? "Oh you are this group, so I can only do _____".
Does a gun or knife not work when wielded by a woman? Even children can kill and have/do.

Then, when I went to get a protective order, with pictures of the bruises, Eye Dr. report saying my eye was damaged by a fingernail, a recording of her admitting what she did & saying she would lie to the judge tell him I did it to her, a witness and more....ALL COMPLETELY IGNORED....JUDGE DIDN’T EVEN LOOK AT ME/IMMEDIATELY DISMISSED!
