  • Excited to understand the Liftmor Study and the resulting ONERO exercise program that's been shown to strengthen and build bone?! Professor Beck from the Menzies Health Institute Queensland, Australia at Griffith University is Professor and Clinical Researcher at the Institute. She also heads the Bone Clinic where she continues to measure results from over 400 patients.
    In this video, listen to her explain her findings and share it with your own Physical Therapist. We don't presently have many ONERO program locations in the U.S., but there are quite a few, globally.

    Could you please make a video on the exercises you encourage. That would be great to show my trainer at the gym. As in the UK we have nothing like this,only medication 😢. I want to increase my Bone density by natural. Thank you ❤

      I suggest you browse TH-cam for "High Intensity Resistance and Impact Training for the Prevention and Management of Osteoporosis". I've done my own search and found out about the exercises used in the Liftmor protocol. Might help!

    Wish this was widely available in the US. Why isn't this offered at every hospital in the US?!!!!

      Because there’s more money in risky pharmaceuticals like Forteo and biophosphonates.

      Because there is FAR MORE PROFIT in selling drugs that destroy our health! There is no money to be made from healthy people, and there is no money to be made from dead people, but there is plenty of money to be made from chronically ill people by selling them their harmful pharmaceuticals!😉

    I really appreciated seeing this formal presentation by Belinda. I am undertaking the Onero program with an Onero accredited practioner and can vouch that supervision is really important. I’d really love to actually attend the Brisbane bone clinic though, but that’s not possible. I think the diet overview would be helpful but isn’t offered by the accredited practioners. I agree with Belinda about the exercises promoted as “bone building” with some sites still claiming that walking will build bone. It’s also important to realise that every exercise you do does not HAVE to be about building bone - it can be cardio, strength and mobility, but at least two sessions per week of HIIT is needed to get an effect for bone. Thank you Belinda for your persistence on improving outcomes for people with osteoporosis.

    I listened to the whole video and it was very good, however very discouraging to hear none of the exercises I've been doing have provided any benefit, not sure I agree. I sure am exhausted after my work outs. And then you didn't provide any examples of what is good?! We can't all afford expensive programs or personal trainers, but I can teach myself

    I look forward of having a bone clinic in Melbourne. Thank you for your research and presentation. I am doing pre-onero now and once ok, i will be join the Onero program with the onero accredited physio. My question is, how much weight to lift in order to increase bmd ? If I am 60kg.

    To what extent, if any, do you believe diet/nutrition plays a role in bone health? 🤔

    • @donnaryan71
      @donnaryan71 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      if you look it up, you'll find diet as important as exercise: stay away from alcohol, fizzy drinks that contain phosphoric acid (usually cola) ,very salty foods, large amounts of caffeine, sugar, high fat diets and processed food. These foods either leach calcium and minerals from the bones or inhibit absorption of essential bone minerals. Increase green veggies, fresh fruit (some people swear by prunes for the boron they contain) get adequate protein, and try to get your calcium from food, rather than supplements, and try to eat foods high in Vitamin D or supplement with Vit D if you don't eat foods high in it (get your levels tested). Basically, the same dietary advice for anyone wanting to improve their health whether it be for weight loss or general health or osteoporosis, the message is always the same: more natural unprocessed food, least processed food, though for osteoporosis more attention needs to be paid to avoiding some foods and increasing others. Supplements is another subject in its own right, also worth exploring. HTH

    E,S,B,S. Effective, safe, but supervised. Put the tax return aside so can pay for mum to work under a sports physio. There is a Keiser gym near mum. Big and new, near where she takes gran for respite.

    If you want this kind of program in the US, maybe get your friends together and start a GO FUND ME page for Belinda's work. She doesn't get any funding for her research, it's insanity!
