Somewhere on the Earthmover there is a warning sign with a V1-like robot on it. I wouldn’t say the Earthmovers knew about V1, but they knew to watch out for a never-seen-before robot with high mobility and a very humanoid appearance.
Humanity is dead; you are blood-fueled machine and crawl in the single place where it's left - hell. On the way you are fighting for your survival and fuel with crippled and tortured souls and the grim reminders of self-destructive human potential in the form of other machines. It's not "FEELS LIKE", it just is.
I brought a friend over to react to violence when it had first come out. I literally had to RESTART this level just to make sure I didn't miss anything. The entrance of the level caught me so off-guard. It was an absolute spectacle fighting against this guy. Super excited for Fraud!
My only real criticism of this boss fight is that it should've been more threatening. I guess it's good to make it a bit easy for first-time players but I wish the earthmover could actually blow you up at the start of the level if you don't get out of the way in time. Have those turrets from the security system be present throughout the entire level (but have less health and not count towards overall kills) so it feels like the earthmover is actually defending itself. Also, that escape sequence at the end has BANGER-ASS music but you don't get to hear it because there's only ONE short encounter! If any ultrakill level has needed a master version, it's this one. It's not a bad level, but I guess it's just so good that it feels like missed potential not having it be absolute peak.
I'd say it’s designed with smaller enemies trying to blow it up in mind, with the defense system and the lasers near the brain, so it most likely can tell V1 is capable of that from watching it tear through violence with ease
@@coldbrewYT it’s designed with destruction in mind. something that large would normally not have to worry about ant-sized nuisances like basic machine soldiers (not to say that V1 is basic, but should the Earthmover really be scared of something that size?). additionally, as V1 is a prototype, it was presumably kept secret, so Earthmover manufacturers wouldn’t even know that V1 existed.
Also, if I remember correctly there is a warning sign on the Earthmover with a depiction of a very V1-like robot. If every new robot was made to counter the last, it would make sense for the designers of the Earthmover to plan ahead and study the weaknesses that could be exploited on their new design.
V1 being a counter to it makes sense it wasn’t a super hard fight was it tricky yeah but nothing like the other colossal bosses honestly the hardest part of the fight was me thinking the door I came in through was the exit otherwise king Minos and leviathan were hard
As a level this thing is dope. As a boss though I kinda wish you actually *fought* it. At the very least I wish there was a section where you would have to avoid its attacks as you get close to it, instead of it looking at you once and then ignoring you for the rest of the level.
I thought of making an entire layer, with takes place on the surface of a living mechanical planet, as you progress deeper in to the layer, the deeper into the planet you go, and instead of a dropper system inbetween levels, V1 or the player, has to enter an elevator to progress
im pretty sure there are other games where the boss fight is also part of the set piece, i can't think of any names besides Mini Ninjas's last boss but im sure i have seen it in other video game media
1:45 quick correction, it isnt bigger than the previous 2, but the previous one. its larger then the leviathan. How ever not minos EarthMover: 600~ meters Corpse of king minos: ~10 - 14 km minos is a whole lot larger then the earthmover
Fun Fact: out of every bosses, the one that took me the longest was Earthmover. It took a lot of tries to beat Minos, but I did it quick. Earthmover… because you have to climb it, it’s harder.
Though it is worth noting just how much of a leg up V1 has on this guy. Hell literally stuck the Earthmover in place with the roots from the 7-3 trees. Imagine if it could move those legs while you were scaling them.
Technically the Earthmover is the best boss since it’s an entire level, but it’s brain stage (where you actually kill it) is worse than the swordsmachine fight
Ngl the scream of "terror" from Benjamin could be disproven, as Benjamin was like 100 years older than V1 was ever in model, so it wouldn't have the code of fearing V1, it just saw V1 and went like "Oh another supreme machine? Yeah sure i'll blast it with all i've got for fun lmao" or it is a scream of terror because im sure V1 is infamous in hell for well, making the upper layers extinct.
on the topic of bosses that are also the level the strider from armored core 6 is pretty similar in some ways like the boss hp bar always being visible etc (i still like benjamin more)
The only game I can possibly think of using the idea of a collosal boss as a level itself is Grandia II. It's a whole ass location where we walk inside of Valmar (that is it's name).
Sorry but leviathan and earthmover don't come close to matching the presence of the corpse of king minos, you see the corpse in EVERY level in lust, and he gets closer each time, which really builds a sense of impending doom. He gets even more buildup in his actual level as merely his hand gives you a hard time. You *glimpse* leviathan for like 2 seconds in 5-3 when you go to get the red skull, I didn't even realise that he was the one who capsized the ferry because I completely forgot I even saw him. And for Earthmover you *glimpse* him as a jpeg in the far distance of one level in violence whenever lightning strikes. You don't even really fight Earthmover either, it's pretty much a fight between a guy and anthrax, even if I get reminded of his presence throughout the level he never directly interferes or turns his attention to you again. Plus if he really is scared of you, that just takes away from any intimidation factor he could have had.
Actually the one upping part of the lore he said was right but v1 wasn’t the last one made he was made as an absolute ace card of war around the start of the machines but it was too expensive to mass produce, the reason v1 is stronger than v2 is bc v2 wasn’t made for violence and death like v1 was
Since the game is still a wip meaning we’d probably see more robots harder to defeat the earthmover, my theory is that rather than V1 being a counter to the earthmover, I believe that V1 is a counter to robots as a concept itself. The ultimate weapon. A weapon birthed from a war to end all wars. A weapon to end all weapons.
if you look at the description of v1 and the earthmover it clearly says that v1 was made to counter the 1k- THR and about the weapon to end all wars wouldn't that be v2 ?
the final explosion was amazing wym? flying through the air and turning around to see this giant behemoth of metal and wires moving its head and shaking, just for a absolute flashbang blinding you, and then seeing giant metal parts the sizes of buildings fucking flying everywhere. then when you are at the exit, you are gazing on these 200 meter tall body parts hitting the ground, while earthmover charges and filling the sky up peak ending
I personally thought "Oh fuck, it screams, I just wanna leave", but I never thought It'd think "Oh fuck, an ant, I need to kill it before it kills me", tbh, I truly like the idea of us going INSIDE the boss, like a bacteria.
tbh i wish in the earthmover fight, instead of fighting ennemies then the brain, you fight the FULL earthmover whike he’s moving, and then you get to its brain The fight would be so much better ngl, cuz rn it feels more like an usual level than a boss
As a level I love it, feels like it's from super mario galaxy As a boss tho.. nah, doesn't feel like it at all I absolutely get why it's structured like this in-terms of the story and diversity between the bosses, but it just doesn't feel like one. It feels like a normal level with normal enemies and an obstacle course at the end. I wish there was more to it than just that.
quick trivia, every machine in the great war was made to counter the last, as V1 was the last machine designed that means... V1 WAS DESIGNED TO KILL THE EARTHMOVERS
I never thought about the sound the Earthmover makes when he sees you being one of terror. I also never noticed he stops fighting the other Earthmover to take you down. The more I play this game the more shitty I feel, I think V1 isn't actually evil because machines can't have morals, emotion and all of the stuff that makes up a conscious mind. However, I have all that shit and I feel terrible lol.
to make you feel worse, id like to remind you that machines do display emotions, like swordsmachines getting enraged, V2 making gestures that are pointless for machines and also getting enraged when you hit him with his arm or fight like a pussy
@@scrubysponge7282 I never thought of the enraged state as a state of actual rage for some reason, but I see that. The gestures as well, the gestures V2 does when he sees V1 shows he has some sort of sportsmanship. Yeah, I already felt like shit killing V2 because he's not even a brutal war robot, he's basically just a civil protector. It's not bad to feel this way though, it's adding to the depth of the game for sure!
@@bruhgod123 I thought about that but speech isn't evidence of sentience I mean look at chatGPT that could've been a programmed or AI generated response by V1 based on what it saw.
honestly while i really do like the level itself, it's one of my favorites in fact, the actual two boss fights in the level itself were way too simple and underwhelming. minotaur kinda was too, it felt like the 3 boss fights we got in this layer focused too much on having a gimmick (the trams for minotaur, the several parts of the defense system, and the lasers of the brain, that and defense system and brain being small parts of a larger level) so the fights themselves had to be dumbed down as a result, making it so imo really only the 2nd phase minotaur gets to be a fun boss fight on its own. it's really telling when the highlight of the main boss level for the layer is a regular enemy encounter instead of the actual boss. violence really shows the main problem i personally have with ultrakill: it focuses way too little on the boss fights so very few of the fights themselves actually get to be memorable or fun.
killing the earthmover left me fucking having a panic attack seeing that i just took a behemoth down. yh the actual brain fight could have been better but imma be honest killing this giant metal powerhouse was all i needed
one of the other examples of massive bosses are the scarifs from the Halo franchise. I always wished they were better utilized in a gameplay standpoint, but 7-4 *certainly* satisfies that itch that they left me
Unpopular opinion: Personally I absolutely love the lore of the whole violence layer and especially that of the eathmover. However in terms of ost and to a lesser extent gameplay I found the earthmover a bit underwhelming. I find war without reason to be repetitive (especially the opening alarm section) and tbh in terms of gameplay I much prefer 7-3 with its epic arena battles to 7-4, which is just an easy gauntlet level taking place on a spectacular setpiece. It’s a shame because other people seem to enjoy 7-4 much more than me and I would be grateful if someone could explain to me what they love so much about this level.
For the ost, the alarm bit only plays for 30 seconds until you encounter the sentry. also every part of the ost sounds amazing lol also the gauntlet, yes, its easy asf. however slowly climbing this fucking giant while fighting a bunch of enemies is fun as shit, especially with the ost and constant thundering earthmover attacks, you are constantly knowing what you are up against while fighting weaker enemies. Its fine fighting weaker enemies sine you are still hyped up by fighting this thing. also the ending with the music going nuts, being inside it having to kill all enemies in 60 seconds. and going on the jumppad and watching this giant thing explode is just amazin
It would be cool if you fought against more earthmovers in fraud or treachery or idk even the cyber grind (ok that one makes no sense but you get the point) just think you are in fraud//second you think "earthmover was an collosal boss so it wouldn't come back!" then like half way through the level you see like 3 of'em and you need to kill every single one of them. And Yes i do know 7-4 is long but these would be idk faster to kill. Sadly i know hakita will not do something like that :((((
i think the major objetive of v1 is to kill an earthmover, and he got ANOTHER major objective by defeating gabriel 2 times, he wants to kill gabriel as much as gabriel wants to kill him edit: also he beat a greater version of himself (v2)
I'm just disappointed on how easy it was to beat the brain, you don't even need to dodge the lasers because of the painfully slow projectile being so easy to parry for health
Are you sure benjamin targets you at the start of the fight? It seems to very clearly throw it's lightning attack into the far distance at the other earthmover. I'm not sure if it's even capable of attacking something so close to it.

Somewhere on the Earthmover there is a warning sign with a V1-like robot on it. I wouldn’t say the Earthmovers knew about V1, but they knew to watch out for a never-seen-before robot with high mobility and a very humanoid appearance.
i swear ultrakill feels like a horror game sometimes
The lore is kinda terrifying
something wicked
Humanity is dead; you are blood-fueled machine and crawl in the single place where it's left - hell. On the way you are fighting for your survival and fuel with crippled and tortured souls and the grim reminders of self-destructive human potential in the form of other machines.
It's not "FEELS LIKE", it just is.
I brought a friend over to react to violence when it had first come out. I literally had to RESTART this level just to make sure I didn't miss anything. The entrance of the level caught me so off-guard. It was an absolute spectacle fighting against this guy. Super excited for Fraud!
just 1 robot to take down a moving base
3:33 you are telling me that is literally "OH SHIIIIIT a rat!"
Now im wondering that can V1 pary the earth movers lightning beam.
1000 in japanese is "sen", so his name is sen-tar earthmover
3:37 it wasn’t built with V1 in mind my guy
@@coldbrewYT assuming it was one of the Earthmovers in 7-2 and/or the one in 7-3, fair point
Also, if I remember correctly there is a warning sign on the Earthmover with a depiction of a very V1-like robot. If every new robot was made to counter the last, it would make sense for the designers of the Earthmover to plan ahead and study the weaknesses that could be exploited on their new design.
i love the music of this boss so much
V1 being a counter to it makes sense it wasn’t a super hard fight was it tricky yeah but nothing like the other colossal bosses honestly the hardest part of the fight was me thinking the door I came in through was the exit otherwise king Minos and leviathan were hard
I personally like heresy 2 the most of any boss level, w boss fight, w lore, w soundtrack(s), w dialogue, and gianni
And the fact that you are the PREDATOR of this thing is insane
Hakita definetly saw the weak points of the other collosal bosses, (SPECIFICALLY LEVIATHAN) and knew that the third time was the charm
1:45 quick correction, it isnt bigger than the previous 2, but the previous one. its larger then the leviathan. How ever not minos
EarthMover: 600~ meters
Corpse of king minos: ~10 - 14 km
minos is a whole lot larger then the earthmover
The Earthmover's in-game model is much larger (~20% iirc) than Minos, that was the comparison I was making
Lmfaoo where the fuck did you get 14 kilometers?
@@josephsiddiqui6472google
Hakita said that none of the characters have canon heights
@@faxywastaken well damn
"the earthmover can be seen in the background of several layers before the actual bossfight"
several layers?
I hope that for higher difficulties we have to fight a moving one at the start and immobilize it to progress.
Fun Fact: out of every bosses, the one that took me the longest was Earthmover. It took a lot of tries to beat Minos, but I did it quick. Earthmover… because you have to climb it, it’s harder.
can't wait for hakita to drop the most banger 8-4 boss that makes this video look so false it could be reported for misinformation
Yeah sure i'll blast it with all i've got for fun lmao" or it is a scream of terror because im sure V1 is infamous in hell for well, making the upper layers extinct.
on the topic of bosses that are also the level the strider from armored core 6 is pretty similar in some ways like the boss hp bar always being visible etc (i still like benjamin more)
1:42 Coins get affected by the vents???
The only game I can possibly think of using the idea of a collosal boss as a level itself is Grandia II. It's a whole ass location where we walk inside of Valmar (that is it's name).
imagine being so big that u the whole level
3:28 that fuckin gave me goosebumps
1:26 "General Kenobi..."
not gonna lie, the combat sequence after the brain is probably the hardest for me
Minos prime still my beloved
What if we arent just a machine, but we are Archangel Michael (in spirit) on the last fight against the forced of hell?
I wish they could make mini earthmovers, where you can parry the lightning rod, and deal way more damage to it with headshots
i guess this boss quite.....
*moved the earth*
I just wish the final explosion wasnt so underwhelming, hope hakita improves that lowkey itd be the cherry on the top
the final explosion was amazing wym?
flying through the air and turning around to see this giant behemoth of metal and wires moving its head and shaking, just for a absolute flashbang blinding you, and then seeing giant metal parts the sizes of buildings fucking flying everywhere.
then when you are at the exit, you are gazing on these 200 meter tall body parts hitting the ground, while earthmover charges and filling the sky up
peak ending
@@josephsiddiqui6472 yes the execution is well but the machine explodes in big parts and 70% of it just vanishes

I wish the brain fight was more complex
I personally thought "Oh fuck, it screams, I just wanna leave", but I never thought It'd think "Oh fuck, an ant, I need to kill it before it kills me", tbh, I truly like the idea of us going INSIDE the boss, like a bacteria.
its very funny that the earthmover loses its shit at a BLUE INSUFFUCIENT FUCKING ANT
everybody gangsta till the earthmovers appear as a normall enemy
tbh i wish in the earthmover fight, instead of fighting ennemies then the brain, you fight the FULL earthmover whike he’s moving, and then you get to its brain
The fight would be so much better ngl, cuz rn it feels more like an usual level than a boss
As a level I love it, feels like it's from super mario galaxy
As a boss tho.. nah, doesn't feel like it at all
I absolutely get why it's structured like this in-terms of the story and diversity between the bosses, but it just doesn't feel like one. It feels like a normal level with normal enemies and an obstacle course at the end. I wish there was more to it than just that.
Best song
I be earthmovin and earthgrooving
quick trivia, every machine in the great war was made to counter the last, as V1 was the last machine designed that means... V1 WAS DESIGNED TO KILL THE EARTHMOVERS
he already said that in the video
i like think that sentrys were made to take down the guttertanks
V2 was designed after IIRC but it was made in peacetime
Maybe the best Colossal boss, but Minos will probably forever be my favorite (haven't fought against sisyphus yet, and p-3 hasn't yet been released)
V1 is sentient as evident by him saying "your not getting away this time" when V2 tries to run away.
@@bruhgod123 I thought about that but speech isn't evidence of sentience I mean look at chatGPT that could've been a programmed or AI generated response by V1 based on what it saw.

While, I do think that the Earthmover is great and all, saying that he’s better than Minos Prime just, feels wrong.
minos is just some jacked guy
saying that minos is better than Sisyphus feels even more wrong.
honestly while i really do like the level itself, it's one of my favorites in fact, the actual two boss fights in the level itself were way too simple and underwhelming. minotaur kinda was too, it felt like the 3 boss fights we got in this layer focused too much on having a gimmick (the trams for minotaur, the several parts of the defense system, and the lasers of the brain, that and defense system and brain being small parts of a larger level) so the fights themselves had to be dumbed down as a result, making it so imo really only the 2nd phase minotaur gets to be a fun boss fight on its own.
it's really telling when the highlight of the main boss level for the layer is a regular enemy encounter instead of the actual boss. violence really shows the main problem i personally have with ultrakill: it focuses way too little on the boss fights so very few of the fights themselves actually get to be memorable or fun.
Agreed
killing the earthmover left me fucking having a panic attack seeing that i just took a behemoth down. yh the actual brain fight could have been better but imma be honest killing this giant metal powerhouse was all i needed
one of the other examples of massive bosses are the scarifs from the Halo franchise.
For the ost, the alarm bit only plays for 30 seconds until you encounter the sentry. also every part of the ost sounds amazing lol
also the gauntlet, yes, its easy asf. however slowly climbing this fucking giant while fighting a bunch of enemies is fun as shit, especially with the ost and constant thundering earthmover attacks, you are constantly knowing what you are up against while fighting weaker enemies.
Sadly i know hakita will not do something like that :((((
i think the major objetive of v1 is to kill an earthmover, and he got ANOTHER major objective by defeating gabriel 2 times, he wants to kill gabriel as much as gabriel wants to kill him
edit: also he beat a greater version of himself (v2)
nnah gabriel is just another thing to kill
in reality v1 is just slaughtering everything
i can confirm :::)
1:26 hi
Most people see this level as easy, and I can see why. Although, it makes sense, considering that you, V1, were designed to kill Earthmovers.
Give me a titan monster, and you have my interest
I'm just disappointed on how easy it was to beat the brain, you don't even need to dodge the lasers because of the painfully slow projectile being so easy to parry for health
i played this whole boss fight and i didnt even realize what i was fighting, this video is me realizing
im an oblivious ultrakill player
Are you sure benjamin targets you at the start of the fight? It seems to very clearly throw it's lightning attack into the far distance at the other earthmover. I'm not sure if it's even capable of attacking something so close to it.
if I'm not wrong that's a different earthmover hitting it, because the railgun is aimed at V1 and it also gets knockback from the hit
