Bit of a different style of video today, hopefully it still is helpful for you. 😁

Totally agree with you. In my experience caloric surpluses are great for muscle building and I feel stronger at weighted Dips and HSPU, but my explosive power like muscle ups suffer a lot from the weight gain. I also get leaner whenever I'm prepping for competition if it's endurance based and that also improves my performance.

Exactly my thoughts, definitely should be helpful for weighted stuff. I'm interested to test out my weighted chin up soon here compared to when I was at my lightest this past summer.

Do you have any tips for gaining mass in the chest with calisthenics? Of course I can do weights, but I was thinking more in the terms of accessories. My chest lags behind my back massively.

Ring push ups and weighted ring push ups I think are the best chest builder in calisthenics! As well ring support holds as a workout finisher should give you a great chest pump. I might do a video to showcase them a bit 😁

Nailing it as always John. From my experience, when I started doing calisthenics I had a lot of leg mass because I was doing a lot of weighted squats and explosive sports. That extra weight made my progress go slower in calisthenics but I builded a lot of mass in my back and arms. I have friends that always have been very skinny and recently they started doing calisthenics, they have progressed faster than me but in terms of mass, they do not seem to gain much muscle in comparison to me. I should try to cut in order to see if I progress faster in calisthenics, but so far im enjoying the process.

Thanks man. Yeah heavy legs and calisthenics don't mix the best haha. Enjoying the process is the best thing you can do, so I'm sure you'll see some good progress 😁
