Im impressed. Originally i was leaning towards the vw gti or sonata/optima turbo to replace my current bucket, but now ima have to check this out in person.

Thanks for the review!. I'm a person who buys a new car every 2-3 years (switched to leasing several cars back). My current car is a 2013 GT with the tech package. I haven't had ANY problems with it other than needing to replace tires on it twice with only 21,100 miles. But that's a known problem with the 17" tires on this. My lease will be up in a few months and this is the first time in 31 years of owning cars that I actually want to keep one, but will probably end up leasing the 2016 version. So for the people who bash this car, why don't you try it out before criticizing? This is a fantastic & fun car to drive.

Absolutely agree! I had an accent hatch SE that never even hiccup'd over 100k miles and after the kids learned to drive I got a new 2016 Elantra GT. The accent could be a rough ride at times but durable as all get out. The GT is much nicer of a ride, has the 2litre, heated seats, and so easy and fun to drive. I've had it for a few months, about 4K miles so I'm showing about 25mpg but that'll improve as it gets broken in. I NEVER thought I'd get a Hyundai, I thought they were junk (from experience in the 80's, God, they were horrible!) my wife bought the velo steer turbo and loves it. No other company can match the 10yr/100k warranty, and the amount of tech put in as a base would require getting more expensive packages of other manufacturers. Just an all around great car.

Does your dealership charge a lease agreement processing fee when the vehicle is returned to them?

misamisatv I honestly don't know, I've never leased a car, I always do a purchase because I keep my cars, take excellent care of them and put a large amount of miles on them. Since I posted that comment I ended up losing that car in the flood here in southern Louisiana, but I replace that Elantra gt with another identical one. I paid a few extra $ for the 10 year 100k bumper to bumper warranty. This makes the 4th Hyundai I've bought, and I'll buy them again.

I'm not sure what a lease agreement processing fee is, but I know if I trade it in without buying/leasing a new one, I owe them $400. I thought that was a Hyundai thing, though, and not the dealer.

Michelle Vickers Ah yes! I know of a Subaru dealer that does the same thing. It might be called something different but in the end it's a fee that charges you $400 if you don't buy the car or lease a new one at the end of the agreement..

I still don't understand the decision of mounting the steering tension button on steering wheel 3:01? This is not a control most people keep playing with while driving. Why the "eco" button remains mounted low, out of sight 2gether w/3other similar switches (this, U want easy access to) on lower left side of dash, still ponders me? Such has been the case since the 2013 model.

Coupydog I have a 2016 model and it's no big deal where the buttons are mounted for the eco and steering wheel feedback buttons are located, but it does make sense. Eco is something you'd want left on if you were trying to wring as many miles outta every drop you could get on traveling long distances or even around town. Out of the way makes it a easier not to shoot yourself in the foot by inadvertently hitting that button all the time. The steering wheel button perplexed me too in the beginning. I thought what the hell, I'll never use this shit. Spoiled 5 months later, I find myself switching tension on steering force for highway, city, back roads or simply to match my mood. I'm pleasantly surprised at how frequently I toggle that switch. This car is quickly becoming one of my favorites, and I'm 50, I've owned many different cars, from f150's, Cheyenne, Camry, Tacoma, Isuzu pup (miss that little diesel truck) mustang, caprice wagon and on and on. This is the one that's been the most useful and economic to just fun to drive of them all so far (bang for your buck. Not super high end Mercedes of a fast Ferrari. Use and comfort)
