Hey you! BEFORE you keep scrolling, if you want more help, my free masterclass on recording and mixing vocals in the next step! You can watch that here 👇www.producinginthebox.com/workshop
This is one of your best videos IMHO. I see two very important takeaways here: 1) Learn your tools inside and out. Your DAW is your production partner; the more you about its features and how to use it, the easier your musical journey will be. 2) The more you do something, the more luck becomes skill. I don't agree that your first 100 recordings will be garbage. Granted that they may not be Grammy Award-worthy, but don't discount them as mere learning experiences. I would advocate that as your level of expertise grows, if you were to look back at some of those early works you'll find some diamonds in the rough that you could work with and expand upon. Then again, this comes from someone who has worked with MIDI since its early days and needs to upgrade his skill set to include samples. Never stop learning, never stop growing.
Extremely underrated video! As an aspiring metal/rock producer, I got so much value from this video. Keep doing what you're doing, man; it helps us a lot!🤘
I just started searching for music production (I'm totally beginner), and here is my first comment about that subject. I loved the sample song you showed in this video, it remember Polaris, metalcore/deathcore would be my learning path. Btw, thanks for the video! ❤❤
Amazing video , my friend , thx a lot ! I was at the point of doing another mistake with buying very expensive tools although I did not need it ... Very inspirational ! Good luck !
what kinda person with 0 music experience knows what a synth is??? idk why they title the video for beginners but they talk like they talkin to someone who knnows ALL the terms like bro what??
Ok, you emphasize the microphone in the beginning, so I need to check if I'm missing something. If I aim to make mostly instrumental music without a live performance either from me or from someone else, why do I need it? I'm so green that I have no clue. For samples, have you tested Arcade by Output? It seems to be heavily advertised, and at least on the surface seems really good compared along with Splice.
If you’re making instrumentals and have no use of a mic than you can skip this. But most people record acoustic guitar, vocals, and even their own samples. Also Arcade is great. I’ve just been using splice for so long haha
Really good video, with lots of great advice for getting started. There is one thing that is my hangup which is when creating an account to release under on say SoundCloud. I don't want to use my actual name, so I go round in circles and end up not creating an account even though I have been creating songs.
@ProducingInTheBox thanks a lot for this video. At 13:38 you mention this "10-Day Music Producer" as your program. I could not find anything about this on your site and it's not linked in the description. Could you please give us a hint about this program?
